I contacted Mavi after reading several excellent reviews on TripAdvisor. Our experience absolutely exceeded our expectations. Upon emailing, Mavi responded very quickly with full details and a meeting place. She is so wonderfully pleasant and bright. She took us around in her car, taking us through all her favorite markets to buy our ingredients. The whole experience was educational (her... More

I have taken cooking classes around the world and had so many types of experiences. The day with Mavi ranks as one of the best!! Not only does she give you the lay of the land from a local's perspective, but she offers a culinary experience that you will be craving for months to come! The best part is that... More

The opposite of the typical herd tours. Mavi is gracious and friendly, taking the time to explain the details of each market we visited as we selected our fresh ingredients. Not only that, but brings you into her own home and kitchen to make your choice of excellent dishes. We are not big eaters and went for two appetizers and... More

My wife and I joined some family on their second visit with Mavi. This is not your typical 'excursion' where you might spend a couple of hours getting a cheap thrill. This is a day-long educational adventure through the city of Puerto Vallarta and the Mexican culture. As someone who doesn't necessarily enjoy cooking, I was a little skeptical at... More

Mavi is an amazing chef and instructor. She picked five of us at our condo and with our pre picked menu, took us to the fish/fruit/veggie/spice market and showed us how to properly pick out ingredients. Back at her casa, she was very hands on instructor from tamarind margaritas, to apps and entrees. The best part was sitting down to... More

The time with Mavi was more then a cooking class, it was a cultural experience. I appreciate the care she put into making the time spent valuable to the spirit as well as the stomach. My sister's and I had a great time. My husband and I have a new taste addiction.......Mavi' recipes.

We instantly felt comfortable with Mavi -- and she was so gracious to host us for a cooking lesson with our 10-month-old baby. We loved everything about the experience and felt grateful to be able to spend time with a local -- touring the city, cooking, and connecting over food. Thoroughly enjoyed our day with Mavi! Definitely recommend.

Experiencing Arte Culinario and meeting Mavi was not only a culinary - mouthwatering day but my sisters and I saw Puerto Vallarta in a capacity unparalleled . We accompanied Mavi to her favorite butcher, her favorite cheese and wine venue , her favorite fruit and vegatable maket and finally to the creamery where we picked up fresh cream!! Since returning... More

We had such a wonderful experience last fall that on our visit this spring we returned and brought my fiance's brother and his wife. We all enjoyed ourselves and had some great food! Mavi and her husband are just wonderful people and the experience is so much more than just a cooking lesson!

Mavi provided a culinary experience filled with the best of Mexican food and culture. Our forays through the markets were as enjoyable as they were educational. Mavi opened her home to us and coached and guided us in preparing the delectable dishes we had selected from her extensive menu options. She is incredibly knowledgable about all things food and Mexico... More
