Things just keep getting better at Eco Ride. Rogelio has moved to a new location and has an amazing selection of mountain and e-bikes. He also takes care of whatever you need for the tour. I use Rogelio's services regularly, as I am in town frequently. He recently purchased a number of E-bikes, they’re great to use on some of the steeper dirt climbs (when it’s tougher for tires to get a hold of the trail).
Recently, after referring many friends to Eco Ride, my son and I used his services for the Vallejo hike. His tour guide took us off the beaten path, not that the regular path was very crowded! He moved at our pace, sensing when we could tolerate speeding up or slowing down, as necessary. He could’ve blown us away, since he is a competitive mountain bike cyclist and is in great shape. He offered to take breaks often. He is actually a trained physical therapist, as well, in case you are sore as you work!
The waterfall at the turnaround was just beautiful, our guide told us where it was safe to enter the water, what areas were a little harder to navigate, and where the best picture spots were. The guide was awesome, with a profound knowledge of the flora, fauna and wildlife as we hiked. We had an awesome time!
Rogelio and his staff are far and away the best tour company in the area. He never disappoints, he is extremely reliable and always pleasant. His new location is even closer to town, much easier to get to. I wouldn’t go anywhere else for biking or hiking needs.

Went on a ride with Fernando and two others up to El Salto waterfall. Tough climbs but oh was it worth it to see the views. Along the way we saw wildlife and small villages. We saw and heard Parrots all along the way and a few cowboys on horses with cattle. The bikes were in good condition and Fernando was a great guide and very attentive. Would definitely recommend this for something different in Puerto Vallarta if you enjoy mountain biking

I have been coming to PV annually for about 5 years and we make mountain biking a major part of our activities. We have become familiar with several routes through tours with Eco Ride, and we make a point of doing the El Tuito to Yelapa trip with them each year. No matter which guide we have gone with, they have been unfailingly patient and helpful.
This year we went with their newest addition, Joel. Along the way we had the chance to meet some of his family who were just as warm and welcoming.
As others have mentioned it is a good idea to be in fairly good shape to tackle this tour. It can get quite warm by the time you hit the hills so a few days to acclimatize don't hurt either. But it can be chilly at the start as you are up high, so a pair of "arms" are nice until it warms up. There are some great downhills while still on pavement before the big up. (And it is pretty big). Once you hit the dirt double track there are still some more ups and downs but not so sustained.
Keep your eyes peeled for birds, lines of ants across the path, and maybe a snake in the underbrush. Then as you approach the top of the big (and its a doozie) downhill you will be rewarded with vistas galore of the ocean and coast below . There is lots of downhill ahead so take the time to stop at a few spots for photos.
When you are ready to let loose, remember the most recent (and maybe even several earlier) rains cause constant remodeling of the road so be prepared !
Your brakes may be smoking hot by the time you reach Yelapa but you will be rewarded with a seaside table and a well deserved beverage.
Rogelio, Brittany, and their staff will take good care of you from start to finish. Put yourself in their capable hands and enjoy!

I've been travelling to Puerto Vallarta for about 12 years now and have made Eco Ride a regular part of my visits for the past 7 years. I have done a couple of different rides but Yelapa is a favourite for my wife and I. The ride is not for the inexperienced rider and you need to be reasonable fit or you'll likely cough up a lung on one of the three big climbs, two of which you may end up doing in the hottest part of the day. The rewards are well worth it though. In the last few kilometres of this ride you'll be treated to a spectacular view overlooking Yelapa, followed by a thrilling downhill. Be prepared! The downhill can be technical...or not...it depends on how much rain they've had that year. Lot's of rain = lots of technical sections, little rain = a few technical sections.
I have never had a bad experience in all the years I've been riding with Eco Ride. Rogelio is always pleasant and his guides are skilled, patient, and professional. Echo Ride has a good selection bikes and have been upgraded their bikes as technology has changed. Almost all their bikes are now 27.5. Each bike is well maintained with intermediate to high end components. I highly recommend doing a ride with these guys!!

Since I have a place in PV, I have had the opportunity of renting from Rogelio (the owner) quite a few times. He's always responsive when I request a bike or a tour and is flexible and understanding with any issues that may arise.
On two separate occasions I was stuck on the mountain because of unavoidable issues (a blown tire and a broken chain) and he managed to come get me...quickly!!..both times. Of course, he was pleasant and affable as he picked me up, as he always is.
He has experienced, safe and pleasant employees who, even though they are not Rogelio. are awesome as well.
His English is excellent, his service is superb, his bikes are always clean and good shape and well taken care of. He's also an excellent tour guide, he will taper a tour to your needs, no doubt!
If you want a safe, pleasant and reliable experience form a pro (he is a hell of a rider, too) he is definitely your man.

Definitely a great time with Rogelio. In order to enjoy the Coyote Trail, you need to be an advanced rider. I am intermediate and 2 of the 4 sections were too difficult so we skipped. It was more of a bike ride with a long climb than single track I am used too. This is because the mountains are so steep, there isn’t any all mountain trails. Great way to see the rest of Vallarta and an adventure

Rogelio, owner and guide, made this experience more incredible with his good vibes and knowledge of how to ride. The bikes were in optimal conditions. The ride in coyote trail was full of nice views of the mountain and the see. Absolutely recommended!

I had a great time on the ride with Fernando but I think there was some miscommunication of some sort because I booked Las Cascadas ride and we were supposed to go to waterfalls and a swimming hole. The ride was also advertised as 4 hours and were were done in 2.5...of course I did voluntarily skip the food stop/break and Fernando is so fit, he definitely didn't need the rest. Also, I admittedly didn't realize all of this until I was Researching a tour to take on our next trip to PV.
I'll definitely go out with them again but I'll make sure we're all on the same page before leaving the shop.

Rogelio and Eco Ride are wonderful and I can't recommend booking a trip with them highly enough!!! I was in a bit over my head as a biker and the single-track trail was a bit too advanced for me, but Rogelio and Fernando never made me feel rushed or bad about things if I had to walk my bike. We had such a beautiful time and the mountains were absolutely stunning. Rogelio is very personable and has a wonderful sense of adventure and is very experienced! A "must book" trip the next time you're in PV!

This was an incredible experience! The guides were absolutely amazing! One of the highlights of our trip. The equipment was appropriate and sent to each of us. They helped us understand use of gears. The physical track at the mountain was physically demanding but worth the effort. The hidden waterfall that you can jump into at the top was amazing! Such incredible views and a beautiful amazing day! Thank you again to our incredible guides who made such a memorable experience! Highly recommend this trip!

This ride is much more challenging than they make it out to be. I didn’t have my watch turned on the entire time, but I am almost 100% sure it’s way more than 900’ climb since mine showed over 1,400’. If you don’t routinely mountain bike with lots of climbing you won’t enjoy this ride.
