We stopped here on a private boat ride. We ended up walking through the cutest little "town" in the jungle and came across horseback riding. On a whim we did it and it was such a cool horseback ride over the river, up through very narrow trails, which ended at the waterfall. We even had some drinks up there and... More

We took the Laguna Azul to Quimixto and we walked up to the waterfall. I would 100% recommend going to the waterfall. The Laguna Azul is a very native tour. My wife and I were the only two English speaking people on the boat but we had a great time and they made us very welcome!

Take a panga or group boat to Quimixto and enjoy several hours there. We always hike to the waterfall and spend a couple hours there, but you can also take a horse ride to the waterfall if you do't like hiking uphill.

My wife and I hiked from Las Animas to the water fall. About 11/2 hrs. I found it a great hike . From Quimixto to the falls you share the trail with horses and riders. I didn't mind this , but my wife was not enthused with it. Quimixto to the falls is a good challenge but rewarding. Once at... More

We really enjoyed Quimixto. For 200 pesos we took a panga from Boca and the captain came back to pick us up at a designated time. We didn't want to be tied to the water taxi schedule. The falls are bigger than at Yelapa and swimming there was fun. There is rope that you can hang onto to climb to... More

This is a little town on the Southside of the bay and only accessible by boat. It's small and poor and the claim to fame is nice waterfall. It's not Niagara but still worth to visit. You can hike the half mile or so but you can also rent horses for very cheap ( $ 10 US) and that's what... More

This was a fun adventure we did with our kids & grandkids. It's about a half hour walk up to the waterfall from the town. We did this with 3 young children and they were Great hikers. Some chose to ride horseback on the way down which was fun for them. Getting off the boat onto the pier can be... More
