Also known as "Shrimp Beach," this is a quieter place to relax in the sun as it's further away from downtown than most beaches.

We always stay in Old Town Puerto Vallarta and divide our beach time between Playa Los Muertos in the south end and Playa Camarones, the beach just north of the Malecon. Getting there from the old town takes about 10 minutes and 7.5 pesos by...More

Quieter area of beach than some. El Barracuda Restaurant is overlooking it. Not usually crowded. Few if any vendors

What a great place to relax and we enjoyed the night life. The beach is extremely quiet and the near by night life is a lot of fun. The late night walks on the Manacon are filled with life and culture.

Wide open expanses of beach in North Downtown Pto. Vallarta. Actually much cleaner than the better known Playa de los Muertos.

We stay at a little hotel nearby and go to Playa Los Camarones every day. Super friendly guys on the beach rent you umbrellas and chairs, and it's a great spot to hang out.

I adore my local beach can be a bit rocky at the ends but that actually makes for better swimming. The water sports are a bit cheaper than the old town beaches. Camarones beach is way less touristy. Lots of locals and expats from the...More

This is a very clean beach. There are plenty of water sports and other activities you can do here . We played beach volleyball which very enjoyable. The view beach and surrounding was very nice during parasailing.

Aside from the rock, which can be annoying, this is the best beach in the "downtown" area. Just north of Centro, leading right into the Malecon, this beach is great when trying to find a bit of sand to call your own.
