We arrived at this beach around 4pm in the afternoon after completing the hike from Boca. This beach was jam packed with people and boats! Every single chair in the restaurants were taken. It is no different than the beach in Puerto Vallarta to tell the truth, besides there is no one selling items.

We had a wonderful hike yesterday. We took the bus to Boca from Conchas Chinas ( 8 pesos each) and then followed the path along the ocean for about 3 miles until we got to Playa Las Animas. It was a very pretty hike. There were times the trail was a little confusing but we made it. It took around... More

4 of us in our mid 60's hiked the Las Animas trail yesterday. It was cloudy with a nice breeze which made the temperature pleasant...but it can be very hot in full sun and no breeze. This hike is moderate difficulty mainly because of the staircases up and down covered in leaves and loose gravel/sand making foot placement extremely important.... More

We took the bus from Puerto Vallarta to Boca. It took about 40 minutes and was under $5. Then we walked down th the beach, took the paved bridge across the river and stayed right! The path was so fun! It took about 3 hours and was slightly strenuous. There were lots of opportunities to stop and rest and a... More

We took a water taxi to Las Animas and arranged for them to come back late afternoon so we stayed most of the day. There are a few beach restaurants available to eat, and a few more with lounge chairs to hang out for the day. The beach however is pretty small, and the waves come up to your chairs.... More

Rented a water taxi to Las Animas. Boat ride fun. Got to beach, only way is by water. Good afternoon. Lots of beach bars. Drinks good. Food was disappointing. Maybe need to stick with fish. Seems to be their specialty.

We were hoping for a day enjoying a swim on the beach and a walk about. The surf was too high to even sit on the beach but I would not swim even if it wasn't as there was too much boat traffic. We had a terrible Marguerita on the beach and very mediocre food in a restaurant. The restaurant... More

arrived by local sea taxi and spent the day on the beach drinking pina coladas (delicious) and relaxing in the sun. Servers very attentive & friendly, making sure we were comfortable. they set up a table on the beach when we were ready for lunch and served the best spiny lobster. we relaxed all day and returned home via sea... A little piece of paradise. We bought two tickets for a water taxi ride. The taxi leaves at the dock in old town. Don't take to much with you. It was about a half hour ride. Went past the Los Arco and into the almost private beach. When we arrived one of the small beach restaurant owners met us and... More
