Lovely, healthy horses and a great guide gave us a memorable day in the mountains. Trails provided an incredible view of the city, several river crossings and an intimate view of rural life. Stopped for lunch in a lovely riverside spot where we enjoyed shrimp tacos.

My boyfriend and I booked in to the "wonderful waterfall ride". The owner, Pamela, picked us up a short distance from our hotel, and brought us to her ranch. Her horses are healthy and well taken care of. When we showed up it turned out it would be just the two of us and our guide, Ramon. While Ramon didn't... More

We found this location online. They had great photos and good reviews. We contacted them once we arrive in PV and made arrangements with Pam to pick us up at the local library. She gave us a ride to El Rancho Charro, just a 10 minute ride to the outskirts of town in Playa Grande. We were outfitted on our... More

Pamela is a very nice lady who does it all except for leading the tour. She will meet you and be patient if your ship is late. (Princess uses different time that PV). The horses are well cared for and gentle to a fault. Two couples, and our wives seemed to do better than the guys. Horses were a tad... More

This place was recommended in Lonely Planet. It was a fine way to spend the afternoon, but personally I will try another place next time to get a sense of what the range of options are. The proprietor is an American expat who was friendly and accommodating. (My boyfriend and I missed the memo about needing to pay in cash... More

A great hostess, Pamela runs a wonderful business which takes guests through creeks, up hillsides, amongst the Mexican foliage and finally for a cold beer and delicious local food if you choose. Our horses were very responsive and I was really appreciative to have had a thoroughbred saddled for me once Pamela discovered I've ridden before. It was my boyfriend's... More

We booked a private "wild ride" tour. We are experienced riders and had a good time. The horses were healthy and sure-footed. Our guide Tomas was great and gave a lot of information on the area and answered all of our many questions. The only disappointing part was we rode to the river and I think we were supposed to... My girlfriend and I took her 16 year old son on the 5 hr ride. At first it was just an ok ride, but on the way back our guide, Ramon saw that we were all experienced riders and asked us if we wanted to take an adventurous trail on the way back to the stables. We said yes and... More

We booked the 5 hour ride to the waterfall that included lunch. Our guide was Tomas who was a true gentleman, we felt like we made a friend by the end of our ride. I've ridden in many countries and this was the best and most challenging ride I've been on. The view from the top of the mountain was... More

My husband and I had a fun time riding on the trail. Pam was so sweet and very helpful. Our trail guide did his best to speak English. He also pointed our certain spots in the jungle and told us stories about it. We had an enjoyable ride. This is something that an entire family can enjoy.
