Aqua Spa is much more expensive than other spas in the Zona Romantica, but it is also the best. The masseurs are highly skilled and the facilities are quite good. When you arrive for your appointment you are given a locker key and clean towel and sandals, and provided with an opportunity to shower if you like before your massage. The massage rooms are clean and the staff are professional and considerate.
I had a number of treatments and would recommend nearly all of them. My favorite was Johnny's deep tissue massage, truly one of the best deep tissue massages I have ever had (excellent pressure, exceptionally positive energy, genuine care and consideration for the client) and so good that I returned for a second! I also very much enjoyed and appreciated my body scrub with Gilberto, and the body wrap with Carlos.
However, I did have one bad experience at the spa. Following my 'Premium Facial with Extractions' with Victor, during which I felt some pain and discomfort, he informed me in an offhand way that I had numerous red marks on my face prior to the treatment. I was surprised at this comment, which I knew to be untrue, as I happened to have stopped in the bathroom and looked in the mirror just before the facial treatment began. Worried by what had been said, I went back to the bathroom and looked in the mirror and was appalled to see my face covered by large red welts. Unsure of what had happened, and at this point deeply worried, I spoke with Victor again, emphasizing the point that I had no such problem prior to the facial and asking him why he had said something earlier which clearly was not true. At this point he changed his story, claiming (again falsely) that the welts had disappeared while we were speaking. In the course of our conversation he also suggested that his earlier comments were due to a misunderstanding resulting from his poor English, and quite shockingly and unfairly he blamed the previous masseur for using products that might have resulted in the reaction.
In fact, as I subsequently learned, the welts were a reaction of my sensitive skin to the facial extractions. This was all explained to me at reception by the helpful reception staff and one of the other masseurs (Johnny), who kindly offered their support. Very considerately, they assured me that the problem would go away, provided me with some ice packs, and advised me to stay out of the sun and apply aloe vera cream until the welts went down. This I did, and the problem eventually disappeared entirely within three days.
Thanks to the kindness of this response, coupled with a waiver of the charge for the facial treatment, I have a very good feeling about the spa and will happily return. I highly recommend Aqua Spa for Men. It is an excellent, clean, and quite unique spa where you can genuinely relax and enjoy being pampered by its well-trained and professional therapists.

Make reservations well in advance: this is a location where service is above income, and slots are limited.
The locker room includes private "showers"—more like tropical waterfalls— and a full complement of care products.
A deep-tissue massage with José will leave you nearly unable, and certainly unwilling, to arise & re-enter the world. But you can always return: they keep your data so re-booking is easy.
Tips in cash are preferred.

My husband and I visited Acqua Spa for Men on Tuesday, April 11. I had a 90-minute deep tissue massage with Andres Meza, and I want to say that it was an exceptional experience. I have visited the spa several times before, but this is my first time writing a review. I have a condition called adhesive capsulitis, or “frozen shoulder,” and my shoulder and arm are extremely painful, so I let Andres know to be careful with my shoulder. Not only was he careful to avoid hurting my shoulder, he actually spent a lot of time working with my shoulder, arm, back, armpit and neck to understand what was going on with my body and to do what he could to help the situation. I have been working with a physical therapist and a massage therapist back home in California, and my session with Andres today felt as helpful as working with them! He also spent plenty of time working on the rest of my body so that I left feeling refreshed and rejuvenated for the rest of my day. I always enjoy my time at Acqua Spa. It is a beautiful facility, and the services I receive are always professional, relaxing and restorative. But today was especially helpful. Thank you!

This was my first experience at Acqua Spa and I hope to go again on future visits to Vallarta. The Vichy scrub was a deeply relaxing, rejuvenating, moisturizing experience. Carlos was kind and gentle and an excellent guide. He performed his work with great care and always made sure I was comfortable. The full-body rain shower was heavenly, and the cooling salts and warming wrap made me feel cleansed and refreshed from the inside out!

My husband and I had massage treatment and body scrub. Both were amazing. We get massages often and all over the world and this was among the best. Add to that, we had never had a body scrub like this -- would definitely recommend it. 3 shower heads going while your body gets scrubbed with corse and smoother mixture, leaving your skill glowing. And doing this after a massage made the entire experience that much more incredible.

My partner and I went to this spa for an afternoon of treatments. We both had an uneven experience, despite being with separate masseurs. In short, many masseurs have been selected because they are cute, but they are clearly straight guys here for the money, despising what they do. As a result, their interaction and work is very mechanical. Might as well be massaged by a robot. A few others are the gay ones, super friendly, happy to be here. In terms of treatment type, go for the Vichy shower and massage. Quite an amazing experience. My advice to management: Hire guys who like what they are asked to do.

This is not at all accurate. We do not discriminate on the basis of sexuality or attractiveness in our hiring. We hire based on experience and qualifications.
Furthermore, out of 15 masseurs and technicians in our employment 14 self identify as LGBTQ+; only 1 out of 15 does not and he is very happy with his job as it not only provides income and access to a social safety net for his family. He has been working in this industry for over 10 years.
We are very protective of our staff as they are the heart and soul of our business. We ask that you please refrain from using conjecture in reviewing our staff. We also do not believe that judging our staff on the basis of Sexual Orientation is ever justified and is not proper for this type of public forum. While in PV for one week I had two 90 minute Balance Massages, both with Aleko. I am a massage therapist and I know a good massage -- Aleko is the real deal. He is friendly, professional, and his work is a great blend of pressure, flow, and stretching. If it weren't so hard to get there, I would fly to PV just to get another massage from Aleko. Highly recommend! (book in advance).

This was my second visit. The facility is very clean and has a great ambiance. The front desk people are very friendly, too. Today, I had a 1.5 hour massage with Jesus. It was amazing! I've been lucky enough to visit Thailand a couple of times, known for its massages, and I can honestly say that the massage I received from Jesus was as good, if not better. His technique is amazing and he really went the extra mile to address some trouble spots I was having. He seemed to really care about providing a first rate service. Thank goodness I found this place while I still have 4 weeks left in my visit to PV. I will definitely be back - multiple times!

By far one of the best massages I’ve ever had! I booked the balance and scrub combo, which I highly recommend. I felt welcomed from the minute I walked in. I didn’t have chance to sit down before my therapist Jesus greeted and me and guided me to the well appointed locker room, where I was given a locker key, towel, and sandals. The therapy room was dim, a perfect temperature with soft spa music playing in the background. The massage was amazing. Jesus was very intuitive to my problem areas without ever even having to tell him. After the 1.5 massage I met my second therapist (I was in such a daze from the massage that I can’t recall his name - sorry) for the Vichy body scrub which was the best spa experience I’ve ever had - simply amazing!
I’m only in PV for a several more days and I’m already planning another visit to the spa before I leave. The only negative is that they don’t offer a 1.5 hour scrub treatment. If you’ve never had a body scrub, treat yourself to one at this spa. You won’t be disappointed!

This spa is a must if you’re in PV. The staff are all super welcoming, non judgemental and the spa services are absolutely phenomenal. I had Enrique for the Vichy scrub and the Turkish bath and he was really professional and put me at ease. The massage therapist was Jesus and his technique was so amazing - hands down the best massage I’ve ever gotten. My partner had Carlos and Andrés and he was also extremely impressed and enjoyed his spa experience as well! Highly recommend!
