We just returned from 9 fabulous days in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. One of our highlights was hiring a private driver and guide with a van for an 8 hour trip north of Puerto Vallarta to San Pancho, Sayuita, and Punta de Mita. The van was at our condo at least 15 minutes before our scheduled departure. It was large, clean, filled with cold water and nicely air conditioned. Our driver (Luis) was extremely competent. Whether in heavy urban traffic or rougher rural roads, he drove carefully, safely and did his best to make us comfortable. Our guide (Paula Guzman - ask for her!) was a joy! She was knowledgeable, friendly, spoke great English and was VERY concerned that we had a great day. THANK YOU PV TOURS!

We rented a 34' private trimaran for a group of about 12-14 of us for a 6-hour cruise. We were met warmly and took off on time. Ari was our host and she was amazing. She told us all the boat specifics and also info on the area. As we got to cruising we saw so many whales and even dolphins. We stopped so we could jump into the water and enjoy their big lily pad. The crew of 3 were easy going, safe and entertaining. We had lunch served (best guacamole of my life) and an unlimited open bar. The crew played music for us and even provided us fun props for our group to wear. We would 100% go again with Ari and her husband, the captain, and their partner whose name I can't recall, maybe Hoy? (We maybe had too much vodka, lol.) It was a wonderful mix for us of sightseeing (Ari spoke to us about the whales and when they mate and other facts), leisurely cruising/playing in the water and party time. They will go wherever or do whatever your group prefers. The boat is spacious and extremely clean and well cared for. Thank you, gracias, Ari and crew! We loved you so much!

Incredible tour - "Discover Scuba Diving"! My wife and I had never scuba dove before, and this tour was the perfect entry.
It began with a class on the "theory" of Scuba Diving (great class location - on a boat on the way to the dive site!). Following the short class, it was time to dive right in. Both my wife and I were nervous once entering the water, and our guide was expertly calm with us, you could tell he was familiar with navigating challenging situations. He calmed us down quickly, and we felt VERY safe with him under the water during our dives.
I 100% recommend this tour for anyone hoping to get into Scuba Diving, or even to just try it out to see if it is for them or not. The tour was great with a fantastic guide, and all of the support staff back on land were expertly friendly and helpful. If you are visiting and not sure if this tour will fit your plans, I bet you they will go out of there way to help plan and explain everything to make sure your experience is solid.
Set aside time to do this tour, you won't regret it.

Had a zip line tour for nine scheduled for ten twenty and didn’t end up leaving their office until nearly eleven. When we finally left we spent the next thirty minutes or more driving around downtown Puerto Vallarta while they tried to scrounge up more customers. You rode around town the entire time in an open military style vehicle, I didn’t mind the open air vehicle as I enjoyed looking at the sites and the breeze felt nice but as you left pavement and went offroad the ride got extremely rough. The ride on the dirt road was described as a Mexican massage, which was a pretty accurate description if you’re talking about massages that beat the crap out of you. You aren’t allowed to take a GoProon the zipline with you “for safety reasons” but are allowed to take one for a fee and a picture package purchase. Turns out they sent us with someone else's ninety dollar disk, no videos were included as promised and the majority of the pictures were blurry and over exposed. When we contacted them about it, they basically told us too bad. They weren't going to do anything about it.
The crew working the zip line was the best part of the tour. They were friendly and fun. However the majority of the zip lines are very short and less than thrilling. The site advertises twelve zip lines at that particular location but there were only nine. After the zip line We were told we would have an hour to hang out before the bus left. Turns out they just want to hold you hostage at the location trying to sell you overpriced food. My family changed into swimsuits to play in the river there but since the people in our group weren't spending as much as they liked on food they rushed us off.
Next stop the tequila tasting. You weren’t allowed to go anywhere except the room in which you hear their seemingly never ending schpill on the miracle of tequila and have them try to coerce you into buying an overpriced bottle of tequila. I would not have attended with my kids but it was part of the tour and since we were part of a larger group, had no say in the matter. My kids and the majority of adults held hostage were bored to tears.
I would never, EVER use this company again! We were gone for five hours and probably only spent 45 minutes at the zip line portion of the tour. The entire place is a rip off, they want as much money as possible for a very poor quality tour. Spend a little more money and go elsewhere. Horrible ripoff from the get go.

The good: Booking was easy, and we felt good with the "no port, no pay" policy. The pricing was also very competitive in comparison to other booking options online. We originally booked a morning tour, but after reading more on debarking procedures, we were worried about making it on time. I reached out the the company and they helped us move to the afternoon, with no worries.
The Not So Good: The excursion itself was okay, but not as good as we expected. The dune buggies were pretty run down, seatbelts didn't retract, and just hung loose in front of us. They also had to use a screwdriver to hotwire ours to start it. Driving was mostly just on streets from point A to point B, at a slower speed, single file. Never got to really enjoy them.
As soon as we got there, they hurried us to the ziplines. During the ziplines, they rushed us through each line (even cause a three person collision on a line). As soon as we finished, they hurried us back to the buggies. We didn't have time to take pictures ( but were offered pictures for $40). Didn't have time to get in the water at all, or even get a drink. Advertisement said we would get to enjoy those amenities as well, but we didn't. It was obvious that they wanted to hurry up and get the tour over with. Made the experience less enjoyable.
After that, we drove to a tequila tasting (which was more of a sales pitch), and they tried to sell us bottles of tequila that started at nearly $50USD. Then we stopped at a restaurant that was good, but overpriced for where we were. Still, it was the only thing to eat nearby, so if you were hungry you had no other choice.
These were the only places we weren't rushed through, ostensibly because they were making additional money off of us for those. So we weren't allowed 5 minutes to dip our feet in the beautiful waters up in the jungle area, but had well over an hour to sit down and order full meals? Obviously a strategic allocation of time.
My advice. Pick only one of these activities, and make sure that they GUARANTEE you'll have time to experience the things you paid for.

The good parts of the tour were the stops at the coffee plant, the tequila distillery, and the walk about town. The guide and driver were nice and informative. We enjoyed the stops we made and the experiences. I wish I would have been more clear on what we have to pay at the bakery as we ended up paying more than we expected.
But my worst part of the trip was the lunch. It was poor. I ordered the chicken with pumpkin sauce. So did three others. Those three got a chicken breast while I got two legs with no meat on them. It was gross. Plus you got a tiny cup of rice, so it left me hungry and very disappointed.
I felt angry at my misfortune to get such a poor meal. It ruined my trip. Nobody there asked if the meal was good or not.
Others said the beef was chewy and low quality. I would not recommend your trip because of the poor lunch. Change the venue for your lunch.

We booked a group for the Viva Tequila Tour off of our cruise ship. The night before the company tried to change the starting time of the tour which was impossible for me to tell our group of the change. I wrote the company and got them to change it back to the original time. Then the day of the tour, the bus shows up an hour late and not at the location that we were supposed to meet. We then went on to the Viva Tequila Museum where we learned how they make tequila with a slide presentation - no actual demonstration of how it is made. Then we tasted Tequila conveniently in the shop located at the museum. The prices were ridiculous. We then went into the town and had twenty minutes to shop and look around. We were given minimal history of the town. We then were taken to a restaurant for a taco buffet where there weren't enough seats set aside for our group and given a margarita that was a frozen margarita over the rocks. It was all ice and horrible! Then there wasn't enough food and we had to wait. The food was mediocre at best. I know Mexican food well and this was bland. The tortillas were handmade but the meat was just so so (pork with pineapple chunks.) Then we walked back to the museum and theater to see a wonderful Folklorico show with colorful dancing costumes and music. It was then time for another commercial for Tequila and buying it in their shop. We couldn't wait for it to be over. It is a big ripoff and you are paying for a commercial for Viva Tequila. Don't do it!!!!!

Our group of 4 decided to do a half day morning tour on Tuesday February 18. We picked Puerto Vallarta Tours because we have been out with them before and had a very good time. We were told to arrive 15 minutes prior to departure which was 8:00 am and that we would be greeted at the gate by a tour representative. We arrived on time but there was no representative at the gate. Our taxi driver had to get out and explain to the guard why we were there and to get us access through the gate which he finally did. Once down by the group of other waiting tour individuals we were finally greeted by the tour representative. To say that he was disorganized is an understatement; however, we did finally get on the sail boat and begin our tour. We pulled away from the dock at 8:15 am. The crew aboard the sail boat was extremely friendly, efficient and knowledgeable. We were lucky this trip and saw probably 12 different whale and some dolphins that decided to play around the front of the sail boat. At one time we had whale to the left, right and in front of us. Some times it was just male whale but most often it included a mother, baby and escort. We don't think there is anything more breath taking than watching a whale breaching and we saw it happen a number of times. Nature is unbelievable! Outside of the check in we had a great time and would book with them again.

3 of us took the private yelapa paradise tour March 9, 2022. Disappointed for the cost. Our guide Jacqueline was more interested in her phone and did not really interact with us at all unless we initiated conversation. There was no history or explanation of the places we saw. Boat driver Cesar was very friendly and we appreciated, when my husband saw dolphins, Cesar immediately stopped and our 9 yr old grandson was able to see them up close. When we arrived at yelapa our guide left us alone and we relied on the restaurant staff to help us find the horses to rent to go to waterfalls. They also helped us locate our guide upon return. There was no tour of the village offered at all and no history or cultural information given. The snorkeling was great, but again we were on our own in the water. Previous snorkeling tours we have taken the guide helps us look for interesting marine life etc. We were not offered water or soft drinks on the boat even though the tour states it’s included. We finally asked and received a bottle of water on the return trip. Basically we could have just hired a water taxi and got the same experience at a much lower cost.
The restaurant food in yelapa was amazing tho and the service was fantastic.

I had decided to book an airport shuttle for my trip so that I didn't need to hassle with the taxi option and getting ripped off by the meter or due to my little Spanish speaking. It was $26 for 2 of us and from research a taxi would've cost a third of that but we still felt safer with this option, thinking it was a shuttle with other travelers just like they do with Las Vegas or Supershuttle company. I couldn't find the purple shirt representative once we were in arrivals, and we kept asking the employee working at taxi booth. She kept directing us to just go outside, since I said we already had a reservation. It took over 30 minutes for us to get help after standing by the TPV sign, which was hard to find since the lettering was so small. We had to get the attention of the employee working the taxi booth saying there wasn't any worker that's been out to meet us. She finally was able to get the attention of the worker inside with the purple shirt to meet us outside and confirm my name on her sheet of paper. And then she just randomly chose a taxi driver that was in the curb nearest the sign that was waiting for a passenger. So we were confused as it ended up being a taxi anyways. The driver unfortunately did not know where our hotel was located, and he had stopped to ask 3 different taxi drivers to guide him. All I knew was it was located on Hidalgo street, in Romantic Zone, #16, but I'm not sure why he had trouble finding it. It was a pretty popular and big hotel. There was a language barrier as well as he didn't speak English but at least I knew a little Spanish. It was weird that he didn't have GPS on his phone.

I am thinking about booking a transfer from airport to condo with a grocery stop at Walmart. There will be 2 adults with 2 full size suitcases. Will a car be sufficient to accommodate us with room for groceries/beer for a week?
Written July 17, 2019
Hello, @Maggiemay1963!! 🤗
We can offer private transportation in a car for the 2 of you, we will most definitely add the grocery stop for only $33.00 USD if you take the car, but if you would rather request a van, we can add it for only $36.00 USD. 😃
My recommendation would be for you to take the van just so you can be more comfortable (since you will be taking groceries for a whole week), but it is completely up to you.
In order for me to provide the exact price for the vehicle, I will need to get the name of the hotel or the exact address of the location you'll be staying at.
Please contact us directly, you may click on our link at the top of this screen so we can give you a personalized assistance.
Have a lovely day! ✨

My daughter in law just booked a private boat tour with you for July 11 from 9:30-12:30 for 8 adults and 4 children. Her name is Kurstyn Loeffler. Can you tell me where we would meet the boat and is there a possibility that you could pick us up at the Grand Mayan in Nuevo Vallarta? Also, where will we be going and will there be any food or drink included. Thanks for your help. Can’t wait to meet you all.

Something to do with the taxi union that companies like PVT cannot pick up at a hotel and transport to another location like a boat marina. Taxi's are safe and cheap.

Hi, horselady58536. What would you like to know about this attraction? I'm wondering about being late because of "ship time" misunderstanding. I booked a tour through these guys for 8 AM. My Princess cruise arrives at 7:00. Is that going to work or will I be late?
Written June 24, 2018
They seemed to know what time cruise ship arrives and they accommodate accordingly. But be sure to confirm with them any changes in itenuary.
