My husband and I did this day excursion while we were in Vallarta for our honeymoon. It was definitely the highlight of our trip. Every part of this adventure was fun. While on our speed boat ride, we even saw 2 whales surface in the ocean! I was impressed with the tour guides humor and professionalism (we were in the group with Nando & Josh). They all speak wonderful English and were easy to communicate with. I felt safe and secure the entire time. They always make sure you are hooked onto a rope, even when you are waiting in line to rappel or zipline. One of my favorite parts of this adventure was riding the mules up the mountain. I could not stop cracking up! The mules had a mind of their own and were hilarious and spazzy. I loved it. The ziplines were so fun, splashing into water and one you are even able to hang upside down! I would HIGHLY suggest booking this adventure when the weather forecast is warm and sunny, as you are wet most of the tour and under the shady jungle trees. Bring a change of clothes and wear water shoes. They don't allow photos or gopros, as there is a photographer with you on the trip. Photos are hyper expensive at the end (100USD), so just cherish your memories doing this adventure and try to soak in all the beauty of the Mexican jungle.

Amazing tour with speed boat ride across the bay & our captain stopped for a whale breaching 3-4x which was a first for several people in the boat! We ventured up the mountain in a large pink 4wheel drive carrying our party of 6 & a few more to the base where Kut gave us our safety briefing & explained the upcoming activities in a very fun welcoming, exciting talk. We proceeded to get our gear on & then they helped us onto our saddled mules to get to the top. But we had a little further trek on foot to the start of our first of seven zip lines! Cesar, David, Gabo, Alejandro
were all awesome guides! The whole tour was so exhilarating & fun & they made us feel very secure & safe, even though it was scary! We rappelled into freezing water next to a great waterfall, then did a “free fall” rappel into another freezing pool of water. Two water slides were wild & fun too. We also went upside down on one of the zip lines & then went the longest, coolest roller coaster zip line we could have imagined! Such a wonderful tour & super people in charge. We were all freezing & soaking wet but after changing they had the pictures & videos set up on iPads for us to view & a bar available & quesadillas to help warm us up. Joshua was a phenomenal bartender too!!! So much fun! & our boat captain stopped briefly at a natural bridge rock on our way back. It lasted from about 12:30-6:30 for a very reasonable amount. Around $90/pp

We found this adventure through Carnival Panorama excursions where it’s called “The Greatest Outdoor Adventure with BBQ Lunch”. It definitely lives up to its name and is worth the cost.
Our adventure team included Kut, Boez, Manu, and Ua (apologies for any misspelling, our card with their names got a bit wet). They were knowledgeable and tried their best to make everyone feel comfortable. I’m scared of heights so the rappelling wasn’t fun for me but I was able to do it based on their instructions, with my husband laughing the entire time.
The adventure includes a speed boat ride there and back, off road truck ride up and down the mountain, mule ride up, many ziplines, rappelling, and water slides. We’ve never experienced so many adventurous things in such a short period of time and it felt very safe - the truck ride had a few eyebrow raising moments but nothing truly scary. At the lunch after the adventure, an adorable little puppy belonging to one of the chefs hung around and we were allowed to pet him and give him treats. On the speed boat ride back, our captain spotted dolphins and whales and brought us super close to the pods and circled around until he was sure they were gone which was the unexpected cherry on top!
You will get extremely wet so bring a change of clothes, and water shoes are a great idea. We were in a group of mostly couples; there was another group from the cruise that seemed to be two larger groups of families/friends.
You aren’t allowed to bring a camera but it honestly makes sense because I’m not sure it would survive the adventure. They have a photographer going on the adventure with you and at the end you can see your pictures and videos. We paid ~$100USD for digital copies of our photos and videos, two weeks later because we didn’t bring enough cash (we called the company after getting home). The photos and videos weren’t necessarily flattering but were hilarious! Good laughs for our families.
We would definitely go on this adventure again. We were actually on our (belated) honeymoon and this adventure was definitely the highlight of the cruise!!
My only regret was not being more cash to tip with - we tipped the adventure team, truck driver, and speed boat captain.

We had so much fun on this excursion! We have done several excursions with Vallarta Adventures and love everything that they do. This was definitely one of our favorites though. Our guides Pina Vicki Poncho Victor David and Gabo were so great and we felt safe the whole time, plus they kept is laughing. At the end of the tour we bumped into another guide we had a year earlier named Hugo who did our picture package. It was so fun to bump into him and he was surprised we remembered him but when you spend a whole day with these people you really get to know them. He remembered us as well. He helped us with our first excursion to be able to make an important phone call to a daughter that was in another country and that meant so much to me.
We had all five of our kids with us who range in age of 10-24 and they all loved it. We also had our daughter in-law's family who also loved it. When we were done we asked everyone what their favorite part was and all their answers varied. Some said mules, some said waterfall repel, some said roller coasters zipline. Even the boat ride and truck were fun. The bartender kept us laughing and the quesadillas were yummy.
We were especially grateful for the office staff who were able to work things out because we had a time miscommunication and they were so great to help us out.
We have been on five different excursions with Vallarta Adventures and so far everything has been great especially the extreme dolphin swim. We look forward to trying all of their excursions in the future. All of our friends that go to Puerto Vallarta we always recommend the Vallarta Adventures.

This trip really has it all. Water, hiking, ziplines, mule riding....., yeah, mule riding. The adrenaline really gets pumping while you repel down a waterfall or zip line directly into cold water. The adventure starts with a boat trip, followed by a bus trip, and then you ride mules up the mountainside to the first zip line (at least 500 feet long). Repelling down a 100 ft waterfall, walking rope bridges, ziplining standing, sitting, upside down even. André, Tommy, Piña, Oscar, Victor, all felt very skilled and made sure you were secure before ziplining. Lots of walking, would 100% recommend water shoes or tennis shoes that you’re willing to get dirty. In the middle of the Mexican jungle, be sure to have bug spray and sunscreen.

if you want an adrenaline rush this is definitely the excursion for you! also at such an affordable price for what is included in the package, first you take a speedboat from the marina, we were lucky enough to see Dolphins and a whale while on the boat! then a pretty bumpy ride up to the Vallarta adventure ranch, were you harness up and they saddle you up on your mule, zip lining, waterfall repelling, waterslides and my favourite the zip line roller coaster!! afterwards they give you tons of time to warm up by the fire, enjoy homemade quesadillas (3 dollars us) they also provided free chips and guacamole as well as bananas. then on the boat trip back they take time to explain a bit more history about PV and show you a very popular snorkelling spot.
thank you thank you thank you to Mario, Cesar, Karin, and everyone involved in our excursion. we did this on the second last day of our trip and it was such an amazing way to end our stay in PV When we visit next time this will definitely be at the top of our list.

bring extra clothes!! when they say you get wet they mean it hahah

don't bother bringing go pro's or other camera equipment for copy right reasons you have to put them in a lock box before you begin the tour but their photographer Gina won't miss the hilarious faces you will be making.

do yourself a favour and spend the day doing this 6ish hour excursion I promise it will be one of the best days in paradise !

We went on the Luxury Yacht and Snorkel tour on a catamaran out of Nuevo Vallarta on Friday April 7th in the afternoon. We enjoyed the snorkeling, although we were told we would also be doing the power snorkeling and did not, we were also told there would be a sea lion show and there was not, but on our way home the crew played very music with extremely lude and explicit lyrics. It was pornographic in nature and very offensive. This lasted the entire time we cruised home.
This music was blaring the entire time. We felt our entire trip was ruined due to this music being played repeatedly.
We have done three other tours with this company and previously been so impressed, however we felt extremely disappointed in this experience which was not inexpensive.
Music such as this should not be played during a group experience as I would think would be highly offensive to many people.

We did 4 excursions through Vallarta Adventures & each one was amazing. The staff is so nice & the drinks are great too. We did the 5 hr UTV tour, the luxury yacht & snorkeling tour, Las Caletas, and Rhythm of The Nights Dinner show. Each one was amazing, but my favorite it Las Caletas. We actually were signed up for a different excursion (ocean mania), but they cancelled because there weren’t enough ppl to sign up. So they upgraded us to the Las Caletas tour. I was very upset at first, but it was one of the best days. It’s family oriented, even though we didn’t have any kids with us. There were just tons of things to do from parasailing to zip lining. However, some of the activities cost extra, but most are free. Wear good walking shoes that you don’t mind getting dirty for Las Caletas, UTV tour, and Rhythm of The nights (you won’t get them dirty on this night). There will be a lot of walking. I was so tired lol. Oh most of the excursions are super early (8am), but you’re typically back to your hotel by 3/4pm & you still have your whole day. They have a photographer for photos & videos, but I would recommend getting a go pro, a selfie stick & a good waterproof case for your phone to take photos & get video. You’ll probably still end up getting the photos that they sell, but get your own great footage too. Oh you can “upgrade” any tour with a bottle of Moet Champagne for like $75. If you’re celebrating anything special I would recommend it. Just makes the moment that more special.

My friends and I did this excursion on the Carnival Panorama. We originally booked the 1:30pm departure time so we could do a whale watching excursion that morning. We were notified the day before our arrival at the Port that we were switched to a morning departure time by the tour operator and had to subsequently cancel the whale watching excursion. Vallarta Adventures refused to provide a discount due to the inconvenience on their part. I disagree with their management since my friends and I would have been charged up to a 25% cancelation fee if we canceled on them. They're only in it for the money in my view. If you want to do zip lining, go to St Martin and do the flying Dutchman. The food was good and the pace could have been a little faster.

We visited Puerto Vallarta at the beginning of July 2020 as tourism started opening back up from COVID-19. The Outdoor Adventure by Vallarta Adventures was probably one of the most memorable excursions I’ve ever done!
As far as precautions for COVID, our tour was limited to only 8 guests, which was actually very nice. Before we entered the speed boat, we had a temperature check and sanitized our hands and shoes. We were required to wear a mask on the speed boat and truck to our location, but we were allowed to remove them once we arrived to our destination. The tour guides wore masks during the entire tour and the equipment is sanitized after every use. Lastly, they even had disposable gloves to wear in the tour gloves so the gloves would stay sanitized.
Our tour guides were excellent! Tommie, Wunder, Luis, Kut, Charly, Díaz, and Janet were all so professional, fun, friendly, and I felt completely safe in their hands during the tour. I would recommend the tour to anyone, if they’re able to go with this group.
The tour itself was nothing short of an extreme adventure. From zip-lining upside down to rappelling down a waterfall, I don’t think I will ever experience something like that again. It is a rough ride getting to the main camp and you will be hiking up some steep hills. Be sure to drink plenty of water and eat breakfast, as you will be burning plenty of calories and sweating. You’ll want to wear some good shoes that can get wet and handle some rough terrain. We wore water shoes with thick soles and they worked fine.
After the tour, they offered beverages and quesadillas for purchase, as well as bananas free of charge. Once your group is done eating, looking at photos, and relaxing, you all head back home. Overall, a wonderful way to spend the day!

LOCKER SIZE?
For the Zipline/Rappel/Mule /Slide Adventure, are the lockers INDIVIDUAL and are they big enough to place an average back-pack with a change of clothes and shoes in them?
RETURN JOURNEY?
Do you go back the same way you came on a mule/off-roader/boat, or do you go straight back (to the cruise ship in our case) in a vehicle?

Before you get on the mule, you are fitted with all the equipment needed for zip lining. At that point you have to put your backpacks in ONE big group waterproof bag. It is large enough for everyone’s backpacks with change of clothes etc. From the boat you travel by vehicle, and then then by mule to the zip lining. Coming back you do not go on the mule. Just the vehicle and boat. Enjoy your trip.

Can you skip the 'Longest Slide in Mexico' if you want to? Is there another way to 'get down'?
Would Keen style close-toed sandal/shoes be OK? Thx!

Yes you can skip the slide and there’s a trail to walk down. Keens are good to use. I wore crocs and that wasn’t so bad either.

What shoes are recommended for this excursion? I think running shoes are better for hiking/climbing but we don't want those to get wet. Are we better to wear water shoes?

Your shoes will get wet. We all wore water shoes and were fine. There are some brief hikes through the jungle. No major climbs or anything you would need more than water shoes for. Make sure they have closed toes and secure to your feet. No flip-flops or sandals.

How are you addressing COVID with the zip lines? We are booked for Outdoor Adventure and my husband is worried about the zip lines and how we address people touching the lines. Can anyone share what is being done? Thank you!

You wear their leather gloves as always. Hand sanitizer was available at all the water stations too. Have a terrific time!

Yes. I was on a boat to scuba dive there that was combined with an snorkel spend the day there trip. Also went to Las Caletas for Rhythms of the Night. Both booked with Vallarta Adventures

How hard is the impact of the ziplines and what kind of brake system is used? Also, will the roller coaster zipline jerk the passenger around a lot? I had back surgery last year and am healed, but need to be careful to avoid super hard impact & jerky twisting. If the zipline impact is moderate I should be fine. Is it possible to skip the rollercoaster zipline?

Hi Nina. I do not recall a hard stop or jerking on any of the ziplines. Once you near the platform at the end of the zipline the brake system engages via a “stopper” on the top line. From what I remember it was pretty smooth. There is a guide or 2 waiting on the platform to help catch you and get you released from the zipline. To my knowledge you are not able to skip any of the items on the excursion as it is the only way down the mountain. I will point out that once you get to the side of PV where this excursion takes place (we went by speed boat) the ride up the mountain is very bumpy and jerky due to the condition of the dirt road (rocky, uneven, etc) It takes about 20- 25 min to get to where the base camp is, then once you are fitted with your gear you are paired with a mule and go up to the first zip line, probably another 25 min. If you decide to do it, I hope you have fun. It was challenging but definitely worth it. The guides are awesome.
