The hike to the top will put sweat on your brow, but you will cool off in the breeze at the top. The vista is breathtaking. "Just do it".

It was a cloudy day with drizzling periods so definitely not a beach day but "Exploring old Vallarta day". After hiding from rain in several small local diners, refilling our caffeine level with mexican coffee and packing ourselves with a load of glocosis from "Churros"...More

We hiked to the cross on a lovely January morning. It was quite a steep climb. We were definitely glad we attempted this in the morning, but were rewarded with a beautiful panorama of the entire city. Just lovely

Hiked up to the cross atop the Mirador for a stunning view of the Bay of Banderas. Very VERY steep; stairs with railings near the top but questionable steps/stone slabs leading up to that. Fine if you wear running shoes and are in decent shape....More

The best panoramic view of Vallarta. It takes some effort to get to the top. 333 steps up a very steep grade but what a view. Get there in time for sunset and just enjoy.

We were told about the Mirador de La Cruz By our bellman (super) Mario at the Hacienda Hilton. It was a great tip!. It is a walking path consisting mostly of steps to a white Cross on a hill overlooking Banderas Bay in Puerto Vallarta....More

It is very steep but worth it. Have to be in shape to go up. Funecular did not work. I could see a whale from the top. Beautiful view of Puerto Vallarta.

I didnt count the steps. Steps were nothing to worry about. The level of difficulty of the actual hike itself is moderate. There are a few steep hills (with no handrails) followed by several sets of staircases.
