We got this tour from attending a timeshare presentation. You get on a catamaran with 30 other people and they serve drinks while you boat around the bay, and then land on Deer Island. Here you can swim, snorkel, kayak, banana boat or play on the beach. The water was great for swimming, but not many fish for the snorkelers.... More

Less than a mile over gentle waters from a crowded tourist beach, and you have to pay a private boat a nice sum to get there (easily swimmable if you are good at that). Nothing much there but some shacks with fish and Coca Cola. But it is a different world of glorious silence, unsullied white sand and great views... More

Sunday we took a nexus tour and road a sailboat to the island. Once we were there we snorkled, road the bananna boat, kayakes, played volleyball. We were also served a delicious lunch and served great drinks.

We went to Deer Island because we were told it was the best place to snorkel. What we found in the surf off the island was all of the garbage people had tossed in the ocean at El Cid. It was disgusting and the visibility was about 10 inches, we did not see a single fish. To be fair, we... More

If ever you are stressed, just close your eyes and dream that you are on this island where the sand is soft, the water is warm, and a vendor sells cocos for your pleasure. There is hiking, too, so bring some sneakers to protect your feet and extra bottles of water with snacks to stay hydrated and recharged.

Not the best I would say. There's no shelter, very small beach and incredibly expensive to go there. Better go to the stone island.

Deer Island is a great place for relaxing or playing, whichever you prefer. Snorkeling is not the best but Kayaking, Beach Volleyball, Banana Boat Riding, or just laying in the sun are all there to enjoy. Service is good and the hosts are enjoyable.

Take a kayak, or a sail boat two great ways to be on the water to get to Deer Island. Once your there enjoy the back toward Mazatlan...wow...don't forget your camera. There are a couple places to eat and get something to drink. Enjoy the day on the beach with a great view of the city and enjoy the quiet.

I was not impressed with the crew on the boat we took to Deer Island. The only interaction they had with us the entire day was to get us drinks. On the cruise to the island they didn't explain anything to us. When on the island they hung out by themselves and didn't interact with guests at all. When I... More

We took a wonderful Kolonahe tour to Deer Island, which was a lot of fun. The tour was all inclusive of drinks, food, and non motorized sports. We saw dolphin, seals sunbathing, and lots of birds flying overhead, and diving into the open water. When we arrived on Deer Island we took a banana boat ride, went snorkeling and enjoyed... More
