We took a trip out to the island while on vacation to Mazatlan. It was really fun. We snorkeled, kayaked, and rode a banana boat. It was an amazing time.

We really enjoyed the tour. First we took a catamaran ride along the bay, all the way to the lighthouse. We saw a sea lion, and our guides told us about the different islands we passed.. once at the island, the people that live/ work...More

We went to Deer Island on a catamaran when we visited Mazatlán and we enjoyed it. We got to see farther down the coast and this included the "Mexican icebergs" and a small island with sea lions. The beach on Deer Island was nice and...More

As part of the El Cid free package to attend seminars, the KOLONAHE DEER ISLAND TOUR sucks. The trip out was ok but once we got there, it was all down hill. There is nothing to see when you snorkel, so why offer it? There...More

We took a catamaran over to the island and it was perfect for a getaway for a couple of hours. The beach wasn't quite as clean as I would have expected but it was cool to look across the water to the city.

The boat tour was about an hour from the Marina dock to Deer Island. It was nice to boat past all the resorts and see the beach from the ocean. The tour guide was friendly, funny and kept the drinks flowing even though it was...More

We signed up for the cruise and bbq on the beach. The staff were so friendly and fun. Drinks were unlimited. Would recommend for a group or couples. Please tip well. Thank you.

Deer Island or Isla Venado can be enjoyed if it is warm and if one can stay a few hours there. Unfortunately most tours go from the Marina along the coast line to the sea lions rock and then they stop at Deer Island for...More

I enjoy a nice day on the beach, so if you don't expect more than that, you won't be disappointed. The food was really not good...think runny refried beans. The snorkel equipment was faulty and we saw like three fish, so don't be excited to...More

When we were there, someone came on the island with 2 black dogs. They weren't part of the tour, but I think they were a private group because we saw the dogs get off a small boat. Hope that helps.

Probably way too late to reply, but I just saw this. Yes the catamaran will pull into shore. You will get out in ankle to shin deep water. I would not recommend to tour to the top of the island for it can be strenuous for... More
