Not the best I would say. There's no shelter, very small beach and incredibly expensive to go there. Better go to the stone island.

Deer Island is a great place for relaxing or playing, whichever you prefer. Snorkeling is not the best but Kayaking, Beach Volleyball, Banana Boat Riding, or just laying in the sun are all there to enjoy. Service is good and the hosts are enjoyable.

Take a kayak, or a sail boat two great ways to be on the water to get to Deer Island. Once your there enjoy the back toward Mazatlan...wow...don't forget your camera. There are a couple places to eat and get something to drink. Enjoy the day on the beach with a great view of the city and enjoy the quiet.

I was not impressed with the crew on the boat we took to Deer Island. The only interaction they had with us the entire day was to get us drinks. On the cruise to the island they didn't explain anything to us. When on the island they hung out by themselves and didn't interact with guests at all. When I... More

We took a wonderful Kolonahe tour to Deer Island, which was a lot of fun. The tour was all inclusive of drinks, food, and non motorized sports. We saw dolphin, seals sunbathing, and lots of birds flying overhead, and diving into the open water. When we arrived on Deer Island we took a banana boat ride, went snorkeling and enjoyed... More

It's a relaxing trip but not too much to do in the Island. Water is very clean, lot of pretty lava stones.

We did this as an excursion from the El Cid, very fun. Beautiful beach and the food was great. We negotiated extra activity passes as part of our deal so the kids spend more time on the banana boat and the kayaks. We road the half dead horses on the beach also.

We rented a Kayak and paddle our way to this island, no waves and clear water made this our favorite spot to chill and swim in the sea.

My family of 5 booked the tour through El Cid mostly because my kids wanted to do the banana boat ride. It starts off with a 50 minute sightseeing trip on the boat going towards Old Mazatlan. Then we got to the island and I thought there would be at least an hour's worth of banana boat ride. But no,... More

We did a tour to Deer Island with our son who is 6. The boat trip there and back was longer than I expected and not so great for someone who get seasick (me!), but others seemed to have a good trip. To get from the trimaran to the shore they have a boat that they really stuff with people,... More
