Beautiful beach. Beautiful surfers. From this beach you can see miles upon miles of Mazatlan coast. If you narrow your vision you might think this is what it looked like a hundred years ago. But today you get to see high-rise hotels, beach umbrellas, and...More

Generally Cerritos beach isn't very busy. At low tide you can walk for miles from one end to another with stops along the way for a Margarita. There are a couple of spots that have rocks near the south end that require a little climbing...More

The beach itself is nice and very large and flat, and an excellent place to spend an afternoon with friends and family. Not absurdly crowded like many other beaches in Mazatlan--highly recommend it!

Mazatlan is not the destination to visit if you are looking for a great beach. The PACIFIC ocean on this coast is cold, mostly rocky with LOTS of marine life. This part of Mexico has the worlds largest shrimp and abundant fishing which is great....More

Cerritos (5 Replies)
Thinking of renting a house close to Playa Cerritos. Is this a good area to live? Safe? Any decent restaurants close? Closest supermarket? Thanks in advance. Mike.

Playa Cerritos covers a fairly large area, there are a couple convenience stores out there the closest big store is a 10 minute Taxi ride. There are several good restaurants at Playa Bruja which is at the end of Cerritos. I have never had a problem with safety out there & wouldn't imagine you would either.

How to get to Playa Cerritos from airport? (4 Replies)
Hi everyone, thoughts on best way to get to Cerritos from the airport at CSJ? I've been quoted $195 US for a private van. Is that the going rate? Are taxis any less expensive? Does anyone have experience taking a bus there? Had a horrible car rental experience a few years ago (I'm looking at you, Enterprise), and my sister is adamant about not renting a car this trip. Many thanks! Kelly

Thank you, Rocky. I assume you used your cc only for the insurance & paid cash for the rest of the rental? I will look into Cactus, & the other addresses you provided. It would be great to have a car. What the guys at Enterprise did was have me sign a number of documents--one which mentioned the credit card hold that was supposed to be refunded when the car was returned in damaged. When we checked out, they charged us $300 over the advertised rate & kept pointing to what I...More
