An absolute waste of time and money!
Oct 2020
Complete waste of time and money!
Half the tanks were empty, others were uninteresting. They had outdoor cages with a few birds and charged and additional fee to enter plus a very old crocodile sunning itself. I talked myself into staying about 40 minutes.
They had several booths with timeshare vendors, an uninteresting gift shop, and of course the usual snack vendors.
In all of my years visiting aquariums ( a favorite thing to do while travelling), this was the first time I wanted to demand a refund. This venue should not be open - it is a complete disappointment!

Good visit

Good deal for the price. They had a show with birds and another with seals, which I recommend seeing. Staff were nice. Hand washing and masks we’re required. Plenty to keep families and couples busy for a few hours.

Our trip was great. Was saw all three shows. Our friend was kissed by the sea lion. The bird show was awesome. The staff seem to have a great passion for their work.

Kids enjoyed it. Lots of construction going on. Need only an hour or two here to see everything, and even that is stretching it. Favorite part was the marine fish inside. Time share people hit us up as soon as we walked inside.

A Mazatlan Must See!
Jan 2020
We were able to hop on the Green Bus from our resort to a stop within a block of the Acuario. We were there in time for all of their shows. It was a weekday, so we were there with some local school kids on a field trip, along with other locals and tourists. Really enjoy all of the marine life, birds and animals in the exhibits and in the shows. We took a Pulmonia taxi back to the resort to complete an amazing Maztlan experience!

An aquarium with many surprises!
Jan 2020
Grandparents, mom, and teen went to the Acuario Mazatlan and had a wonderful time. We didn’t expect such a wide variety of experiences at a small aquarium. Not only were there a large variety of fish and sea creatures, but also bird exhibits, huge crocodiles and other reptiles, and educational exhibits on various species. There was an arena where we learned about several birds of prey and watched them perform tricks using audience volunteers. In one walk-in aviary, there were beautiful lovebirds that ate seed from our hands. In another walk-in aviary, there were mated ducks protecting their eggs, a swan, quail, pelican, and many parrots enclosed behind wire mesh. We fed fish food from our palms to a tank of small Tilapia, and had our fingertips “manicured” by a tank of tiny fish (didn’t get the name of the fish) that nibbled on the skin around our fingernails. That was an experience we will not forget!! The Sea Lion show was such fun, with larger than average sea lions splashing the first rows of visitors. Toby the sea lion would close his eyes and stick out his tongue after each trick. The gift shop had a wide variety of items, with some very inexpensive gifts for all ages.
A guide told us that a huge new addition to the aquarium is in the works, and will be spectacular. We look forward to returning to this aquarium in the future.

Wonderful place!!
Jan 2020 • Couples
We enjoyed this Acuario very much. The animal shows were well done, especially the sea lions & the parrots that talk (one says: "porque soy bonito"). All of them with interactive parts for kids & adults in a funny, entertaining way.
I liked the educational feature, in particular, where you learn about each animal & the most important part, the awareness of their habitat in the wild & how each of us can contribute to a better life for them like for example cleaning up after yourself at the beach so that wildlife won't swallow our trash!!!
There is a lot to do there & you feel with the entrance fee you contribute to the well-being of those animals which were mostly rescued & unable to be released.

Has the Aquarium closed because of Covid 19?

I would assume that it is closed, but am not in Mexico. I do know from reading messages that all public activities are limited or closed.

Thanks for the info. It may be another reason to visit him in the future. You know it's not just the beach and the food, especially with children looking for activities and more if you have to travel by plane by distance. Mazatlan is a good beach destination, good atmosphere, good food and very affordable costs.

Is there a way you can book online or do you have to pay that day? Can you pay that day for the swimming with Sea Lions and Sharks?

Pay when you are tgere in pesos. They didn't have an option to swim with sea lions or sharks the day we were there. Kids were disappointed. Still a good afternoon. Shows were entertaining and we don't even understand Spanish.
