The ATV ride was fun. My ATV caught on a rock and tipped over. I braked, but it would not stop. I was injured slightly and the staff were very kind. Also I would recommend supplying us with masks and goggles. The lunch was delicious....More

The Plumonia cabbies know where all the tours go and where all the tourists want to visit. Some of the outlooks are up winding roads that the tour buses can't go. They will stop to see the cliff divers and take you to the cathedral...More

We would not recommend. Very disorganized group when we were met at the ship port there were not signs or anyone to meet and greet us. Travel to Stone Island was also very disorganized and the boat ride was a joke. Best part of Stone...More

Due to Hurricane Wilma, our cruise ship had a major reroute and none of our planned stops in Mexico happened. I had a prepaid ATV Tour in Mazatlan, which I expected was lost money. But when I got home, my emails revealed that Mazatlan Tours...More

We boarded a nice motor coach and toured the highlights of the city. The cliff, cathedral, flower market and shopping district. Although it was longer than expected it was a great tour.

Enjoyed the overall tour. Staff was very helpful and friendly. Food and beach facility were very good. Snorkel location had very limited visibility and few fish.

Tour Recommendations (4 Replies)
I will be in Mazatlan for a one-day cruise stop November 22, 2007, Thanksgiving, with my wife and eight year old son. We are doing adventure activities in Puerto Vallarta and Cabo, in Mazatlan we are looking for a good tour. I am looking for two recommendations, the first which tour should we take and which tour company would you recommend. We have never been to Mazatlan, so I do not know which is the most enjoyable for a family. We are looking for a tour that will keep our attention and...More

WE were wondering which is the best tour to take [since we are a group of 15] to Stone Island. WE saw King David or Mazatlan Tours. Both offer pretty much the same things, 2 activities, open bar etc, Any advice??

Hello I'm not sure who we payed our down payment to, I know it wasn't Kind David. Come the day of our trip we were tourknapped by Kind David which we payed them the balance and they gave us a good trip. We found this out after we got back and the original tour company asked what happened to us. We told them we went on the trip and thats when they told us we were tourknapped. So in all we did not pay any extra but still had a good trip. Based on our wxperince I would say try King David they...More

Horseback Riding on Stone Island (9 Replies)
I am planning a trip to Mazatlan in a couple of weeks and was thinking about going over to Stone Island and renting horses. Is it best to arrange a tour before going or wait until I get there? Also, what company is recommended? I see there are several companies such as Mazatlan Tours and King David Tours. Do I need to bring long pants and shoes? I hate to carry these things around all day on Stone Island unless necessary. Any help is appreciated! Thanks!

We usually go to the embarcadaro , pay 25 pesos each for the trip over on a water taxi (panga), walk through the village to the beach and enjoy the day. I doubt that you would need long pants or shoes. I've seen people riding the horses in swimwear and not much else, i.e. barefoot, no hat, etc. If you leave from the embarcadaro near the cruise ship docks it is a much shorter walk to the beach but the wife and I just enjoy walking through the village.
