We stayed in Manzanillo but drove in to see Barra Navidad. It has grown quite a bit since our last visit but still had its little town feel. Next time I think we would like to stay here as smaller and cozier feel.

My parents retired in Melaque, which is a quick bus ride from Barra de navidad and we frequent it often. Thursdays is market day there, so we go for that, or to perhaps take the pongo over the water for breakfast, or just to walk the Melacon. It's a little more "touristy" of a town than Melaque, or San Patricio,... More

We visit Barra every year if possible. We always stay at Playa Grande which is a short drive away at Isla de Navidad. Barra is a small tourist town overflowing with friendly atmosphere. Make sure you visit the street market on Thursdays in the centre of town. Breakfast at Bananas overlooking the harbour. Fishing for Dorado on the Marie Chui,... More

This is a small fishing village just an hour from Manzanillo. They have a flea market on Thursdays, very clean with great prices. Variety of restaurants, bars and shopping. Small boutique hotels. Easy to get around in.

Gorgeous! A highlight of our Manzanillo trip. Wishing we could have been in Barra Navidad for an additional day.

Little seaside village where EVERYTHING is within walking distance. Restaurants line the beach . . . facing west. BEST sunset views on the costalegre.

The beach was beautiful, the colors of the ocean were mazing. The bad thing was that the ocean was pretty rough. The locals told us that it was a few days like that, but usually it has pretty peaceful water.
