Downtown Manzanillo

Spent an afternoon downtown, had a great day of shopping. Lots of stores and places to eat, had some delicious pizza.

The Sailfish brought us to area, but no activities were scheduled on a Saturday afternoon. No shopping a few historic photos, but no outstanding architecture. No hotels or restaurants in area.

Checking out the town, was a nice cab ride to downtown. The area was clean and the people were very friendly. Was nice to get away from the resort and check things out. The port area was amazing never thought it would be a large and busy.

As we were on a city tour we did not have much time to actually walk around the down town area. There were plenty of shops to look through. We did enjoy what we saw. picked up a couple of gifts.

The Malecon area in Manzanillo is not a "touristy" as others that one finds in Puerto Vallarta, Mazatlan, etc. This is a working port and it shows. But the huge sailfish statue and nearby plaza do offer some appeal for a stroll.

Friendly locals. Good prices. Touristy but not crowded. Easy off and on from cruise ship. Weather in December is perfect.

It was cool to do and see. The best part was feeding the birds. It was hilarious. Throw some crushed up crackers on the ground and you will have a thousand birds at your feet.

This is a lovely area to walk around, see the statues and ships in harbour. It was very clean and we felt safe. Great place to get some exercise, enjoy a relaxing time and learn about this part of Manzanillo. People were very friendly. It had the biggest Mexican flag and the huge blue fish statue.

The blue "Sail Fish" statue is huge and represents the fact that Manzanillo is one of the best area for deep sea fishing. Along the malecon (seaside sidewalk) there are many beautiful and interesting statues.
