We travel quite a bit and have seen amazing falls in th USA and abroad. We hired a private driver who took us to the falls. It was a few pesos more but well worth the trip. It took about 90 minutes to get there....More
A unique local experience driving up and hiking up to the Falls with our private tour guide. You see the life of Mexican locals living in the mountain, the coffee and cocoa plantations, the agave, the cinnamon, papaya, and banana trees. A truly traveller's experience,...More
When staying in Huatulco, I highly recommend taking the fun and interesting day tour up to the "cascadas magicas" (magical waterfalls) up in the nearby mountains. Even though the ride can be a bit bumpy on the mostly-gravel road to the falls, it's definitely worth...More

I would have to say no,for two reasons,October is the end of rainy season so the road will be very hairy if not impassable, and you probably won't have enough time to enjoy the falls with all the travel. Most cruise ships don't spend very long in huatulco,I don't know why that is. Go to EL maguay Beach by taxi,10 minutes away and beautiful beach. Enjoy!!!

I am not familiar with Puerto Angel, but if you read the comments on the website, others have rented a cab to get them various places. There's got to be local people that can arrange tours for you as well.
