Access is weird. Rotting plywood provides the path through the trees. Beach is steep. Quite messy when we were there. Lots of debris that you'd have to clear before lying down. We beat so hasty retreat and went to San Augustine instead. Very happy with that choice.

1. The Good This is a long, clean, sandy beach worth visiting for swimming or walking. We walked from one end to the other near sunset (when it is cooler) and it was gorgeous. 2. The BAD a) Unfortunately the access path for the "public" starts with about 30 feet of rotting boards. b) After the boards the path is... More

We spent two weeks on the beach of Tangolunda at an all-inclusive resort. I walked the beaches and nearby roads every afternoon and discovered geological and built elements of landscape that explain the strong attraction of the area for North American tourists. Best to experience it by renting a condo and occasionally catching a ride on a sailboat at the... More

Shore is lined with hotels for the most part. Some decent snorkeling around island and along rocks in front of Dreams hotel. Access to jet skis and fishing boats. Need to have your own Snorkeling equipment. Sand is a little course that most other beaches. Lots of folks from resorts on the beach everyday but still not crowded.

Beautiful bay with dreams, barcelo and las brisas resorts. Swimmable for most but small children should wear life jackets due to the wave action. Bit of an incline into water but fine for most and makes for some fun getting in and out of the water. I could lay in my beach chair or float around in the beautifully warm... More

Be sure to go by the Dreams Hotel, you can see a lot of fish swimming, great for kids. Only downside, the sand is not so soft and powdery

We stayed at dreams which is in this bay. The bay is pretty calm on most days and water so very clean and warm. It has some good snorkelling by the rocks beside dreams and as well as at the bay around las brisas. Lots of guides in the area for tours and fishing if you want as well.

This bay has a few very expensive hotels from which to appreciate its beauty but it is definitely worth it! I stayed at Barceló Hotel and it was really good.

We stayed at Dreams Resort on Tangolunda Bay. The bay offers great snorkeling in front of the resort. The beach is clean and the water warm. We found lots of little plastic garbage in the bay and picked it out of the water. It didn't deter us from swimming or snorkeling.

The Bay of Tangolunda is a fairly large bay which has 3 large hotel resorts and 2 smaller resorts located on it. The beach varies between steep to flat areas located closer to the Barceló and Dreams Hotels. The water is very clean and always warm for swimming. The beach is public--but is sort of exclusive to the hotels it... More
