My cab driver bought me here for the views. This place is a catholic church perched high on the hill and overlooks the Acapulco crescent shaped bay. From the top you get to see some of the best views. The area is so quiet and was almost empty. This was great as I enjoyed the serenity. The cross is huge and reminds. You can meditate peacefully for some moments. The location is in the las Brisas resort and best to take a cab as the security at the entrance will need an ID to let you enter. They followed the Covid drill sincerely with Temperature checks and planting your shoes on bleached water. A small gift shop is available for souvenirs. Plenty of vegetation around and it is about a 20 minute cab ride from the main beach of Acapulco and on the way to the airport.

Beautiful, peaceful location with a very moving story behind it. Amazing views of the city. An hour allows plenty of time to look around, take photos, and soak in the beauty of this location.

This was a beautiful chapel in a gated neighborhood. I think you have to go with a tour group to gain entrance. It sits high above the city so it offered scenic panoramic views of Acapulco. The story of the family that built this chapel is intriguing. If visiting, I would plan to spend about an hour here.

A must see in Acapulco. A tragic event has produced a beautiful memorial and a place where anyone can go and find some peace. The beautiful views and calming atmosphere make a visit worthwhile also the architecture is amazing as are the well kept gardens and the statues.

The cross and adjacent “temple” was built in honor of a wealthy woman’s two sons that died in a plane crash in Mexico. It was not meant to be specifically for any one religion.
You’ll have nice views from up there and also pass through a couple of checkpoints.

It’s nothing super special but you’ll surely see the ritzy houses up there.
Acapulco was one of the movie stars favorite places 40 and 50 years ago.
Now, it’s kind of off the map!

We hired a great man, Jose, to take us all around. He speaks perfect English. We got there, he explained the history and the meaning of the building. It was really sad but beautiful. The grounds are so peaceful and beautiful. Everyone must see.

Perched atop a cliff overlooking the bay of Acapulco, the Capilla de la Paz or (Chapel of the Peace) is a very picturesque site and well worth a visit. The non-denominational chapel is located in the very pricey Las Brisas area of Acapulco. The chapel itself is small but very quaint and charming. It has beautiful marble facades which allow lovely opaque light to shine upon the chapel interior during the day. The cross is massive (at over 130 feet in height) and overlooks Acapulco bay. At night it is lit up atop the mountain. Next to the cross there is also a smaller statue called Las Manos de la Hermandad, of two right hands joining together signifying brotherhood.

My suggestion is to try and visit this site on an early/small tour group. We visited on Tuesday morning around 10:30am with a group of only 7 people. We had the site to ourselves for most of the short tour, which was nice considering the small size of the grounds. As we were leaving we saw a few large tour groups arrive and I had a hard time imaging how they were all able to comfortably tour the small site. I would highly recommend this site to anyone visiting Acapulco who is interested in seeing more of the unique charm of the city itself. The view from the top of the chapel atrium is worth the trip alone. Acapulco bay is breathtaking from this vantage point! Bring your cameras this place is gorgeous and a perfect way to spend a bit of the day.

I have been here at once and I would say that this location is the highest view spot at Acapulco. The chapel has a wonderful look inside and if you travel to Acapulco you may see the cross from the bay.
