Rudy is an inspiring entrepreneur with an infectious passion for his people. Usually I'm not a big fan of guided tours, but Rudy sets a high bar and I can't recommend him high enough. He's a quality human being and it was a pleasure to be taken under his wing for a day my wife and I will never forget.

Dear Señor and Señora Jim K, I cannot thank you enough for your kind words. Guiding you in Acapulco was a real pleasure. I will be looking forward serving you, your relatives or friends again in a near future. RUDY

Rudy & Alfonso we’re our tour guides and made sure to make our day a blast!! We learned so much about the history of Mexico, received amazing pictures of the day and the zip line and as breathtaking. My husband wanted to do it again immediately after we finished. I’d recommend this excursion to ANYONE looking for a great adventure and great people to host you

Rudy and team are the best! Great to have a trusted "friend" that will listen and find activities that my not be on the tour list, but will work into his network to help you out. Team was great for transfers, day trip to a couple Mezcal distilleries and setting up a private yachting sunset tour around Acapulco and watching the cliff divers from the water. Highly recommend for a great service experience!

Tour by Van (Rudy Fregoso) and guide Santiago are the best. My wife and I had an significant unforeseen incident happen to us and Rudy was willing to change the dates of our tour. He said he wanted to be part of the solution and not make things worse on us. Such an awesome nice guy, we really appreciate his help.
We did 2 tours with guide Santiago and both were fantastic. Santiago is so knowledgeable about the area and his pride for Acapulco really shows. You won't go wrong with Tour by Van!

We always like to take a city tour early in our trip to a new place to learn about fun things to do for the rest of the week. I contacted Rudy via email about 2 weeks before our trip and we planned things out. When we met with Jose Luis, our driver for the city tour, he was punctual, polite, friendly, and very interesting. We enjoyed speaking with him about his love for the city and people, about his favorite things to do in Aca. Rudy joined up with us a bit later and was effervescent, witty, and charming. We got to walk through El Mercado Municipal in Acapulco and speak with various vendors. Rudy helped me purchase fruit and ask for it sliced; it was just a great time. We invited Rudy and Jose Luis to sit with us at lunch and they politely declined, saying it was business policy to let their clients have some private time during a tour. I respect the policy, though Rudy and Jose were interesting enough people that I think we would have enjoyed sitting and talking together over lunch.

We enjoyed our city tour so much that we requested an ecological tour to release baby sea turtles and visit a lagoon where there were more birds than I thought possible in a "small" place. Both tours were extremely enjoyable and while I dealt most with Rudy on the business end, Jose Luis was our driver and guide both times. He was excellent to deal with as well.

Highly recommend Tour by Van with Rudy & Jose!

I booked Tour by van because of the rave reviews Tripadvisor. I did get a call the night before the tour from Rudy to confirm that there would be 2 tour guides to meet us at 9 am. I told Rudy my family was so excited for the tour and more than anything (I reiterated several times) we wanted to see La Quebrada. My self, my parents and 2 children waited in the lobby for the tour guides. I had heard so much of their professionalism so I expected that from the beginning. I saw what I thought to be a few cab drivers joking and smoking carrying on in Spanish outside of the lobby. It wasn't professional behavior or appropriate conversation; I know because my parents and I are bilingual (English/Spanish). We watched them and a little after 9am 2 of the men walked over to us and introduced themselves as our tour guides.
Great, we get on the road and I request for the guide in the passenger seat to conduct the tour in English so that my children understood. Heck I didn't understand more than 15% of the words that were coming out of his mouth. He did not stop talking though. We pulled up to view some scenery (right outside of our Resort Spa Las Brisas) but we took in the view. Then we went to another area and they took us to another Hotel and dropped us off to "look around." Okay, we walked around in another hotels lobby and they picked us up about 15 minutes later. We then drove to see another site (Chapel of Peace) which is also in Las Brisas area. Donations are encouraged but the lead tour guide really drove home how much he disliked when people did not donate...I felt he should have donated also but he didn't. So then they take us back to Las Brisas Resort to sightsee. They knew we were staying there!!!! Ugh.
So finally we get on the rode towards La Quebrada. Huge huge huge mistake. There was a police walkout that day. They protested through the main drag and traffic was at a standstill. Oh did I tell you the A/C was not working in their van? So we sat there and sweat away. The lead tourguide would not stop talking. He sounded nervous and just kept looking in different directions as to see what else he could carry on about. At this point he had put his professional mannerism to the side and conversed with my Mom as if we were old buddies. My kids had laid down in back seats, my Dad was sitting upright falling asleep and I was no longer impressed. I did not see them making any effort to make us comfortable or find a way out of the situation. We sat in that traffic for hours. My children started crying. The guides kept insisting that we would be out of the situation "soon." They kept saying that but we did not move. They finally called Rudy and it seemed like there was some disagreement between them. My oldest son kept saying he needed the restroom and the guides kept saying we were almost there.

Finally the guides got Rudy on the phone and Rudy asked me what I wanted to do. I said "WE WANT OUT." Rudy apologized saying that we should have gotten a better van and his drivers should have taken an alternate route. Too late, I got my family off the fan in the middle of the road but that wasn't the end of it. Rudy wanted me to pay for the service. What?!!!! They toured us in our own Resort! We sat in miserable heat and traffic for hours and he knew his guides could have avoided the situation. I said whatever; How much? He hinted that I should pay full fare. Yeah, not going to happen. He asked me what I think I should pay because he wanted me to walk away happy. The tour guides in the van were not speaking to me. They just kept shaking their heads so I after haggling we agreed $20 dollars a person. Rudy does not seem to speak "pesos." He said fine. The guides looked furious. I gave them them the money and got out in the middle of traffic (decency to pullover you say?). We were just so happy to be out of the horrible situation. After that we got into taxis and drove away in the opposite direction.

Goodness my fellow Tripadvisors. Collectively we are usually so accurate :(

Everything we hoped for-and more! Prompt replies from Rudy to my inquiries, no problems at all! Rodger and Martin met or exceeded our expectations. Would rate them higher if I could!

I recently went on a private tour of Taxco with seven other friends. We left Acapulco in the dark and returned in the dark. We had the pleasure of Temo driving us and Roger as our guide. Roger is one of the most knowledgeable people I have ever met regarding the history of Mexico. He made our three hour drive fly by. Once in Taxco we spent some time shopping for silver and walking around this beautiful city. Lunch was overlooking the entire city. It was a lot of driving and some of our group want to return to spend a night. I would not hesitate to use Tourbyvans for another tour. Rudy runs a stellar business.

We just returned from a terrific trip to Taxco. This is worth the day trip while it is a long ride and a overnight stay is going to allow you to do/see more we accomplished all we set out to do.

Both our guides Rogelio (Roger Dodger) and teamo (sp) Cuauhtemoc Rojas were terrific and very professional!!

We were promptly pickup just prior to 7am for our journey and before you knew it we were rolling into Taxco just before 11am with Roger narrating the entire trip.

The ride is very scenic and Taxco is a wonderful city and must be experienced.

This is without question the most professional tour company in Acapulco so glad we did.

The tour guides obviously love Acapulco, but they will share their information very candidly about the treasures and challenges of this beautiful city. And the drivers know how to navigate the insane traffic to be efficient with the guests’ time. This tour was well worth the price, as we were able to see the highlights we wanted to see safely and easily. Great value and recommended!
