Nice beach. Not too much undertow. You are best served by not being there after dark. We did see a guy that had been killed, the police were working the scene. If you don’t go looking for trouble you will be just fine

We enjoyed a long walk all along the beach front, there's the usual beach front activities to be found, bars, restaurants, cafes, it'ss not that far to walk to old Accopuco, we only had the day there, so didn't get much time to swim.

Playa Hornos and the adjacent Playa Morro are two of my favorite beaches in the world. I have been all over from the Rivera to Fiji and have body surfed and snorkled in Hawaii, Florida and California. These remain in my top five. The waves...More

Lots of locals use this beach. Week-ends and holidays very busy. Beach restaurants close by. Nice view and nice beach.

Not the best choice for us, we prefer much more natural and quiet beaches withou commerce. So I would recommend Diamond beach - reachable by bus in about 20 min from Centro.

Go to La Union on Playa Hornos and meet Cerillo. You have to just love the guy. Except for some gray hair (but who has not gotten those) he has not changed in 30 plus years. Great Papas Fritas and cold beer and good ceviche...More

The area from the flag to Commercial is a good place. Soriana (very modern) and Aurrera (walmarts value brand) are right across the road for food and beer. The water is pretty calm with the sheltering rocks. I've seen tourists take their hammocks and string...More

Being that our wedding is a week from Saturday and all of the final payments are due this week, my fiancee and I are trying to watch our pesos. Yesterday our plan was to see how far we could go and what we could do with $400 pesos. We also wanted to see things we never had the time to see before. Heres how it went. Got on an air conditioned bus at first for 6 pesos each. That was our first mistake. Definitely not worth the extra 1.5 pesos to freeze your butt off. We also got annoyed at...More

Nice Yo. Glad to see you got to the "other side of town" for a different perspective of ACA. Sunday is a free day for the Fort so you picked a good day for your budget. You definitely need to check out Roquetta next trip. Next year I'll drag you and your soon to be wife deeper into the old section . . . you will be surprised at what you can do for $200 pesos a day.

After seeing all the nostalgia threads lately ,just wondering if anyone remembers Emma.s Pollo restaurant that used to be located right beside the old market across from Hornos Beach.
