I've seen this show from both La Quebrada balcony for 45 pesos / 3 USD and now the restaurant La Perla for 180 pesos (which includes 2 drinks) that's located directly in front of the diving/cliff area, and i have to say the restaurant views are the best.
The balcony views that La Quebrada offers aren't too good unless you're early, and found a spot at the bottom of the balcony in front of the divers. Otherwise, watching it behind people, fighting your way for a view, or from the staircase is the worst. You can't really see anything.
The restaurant views from La Perla are awesome. If i had a high res camera, would of captured great shots, but my hand held/phone camera isn't that good at night. The views from teh restaurant you can at least see the waves below, the guys climb both walls, and watch the full dive as opposed to watching front view dives (which is tough). The restaurant service was pretty bad, but again i was there for the views, not the food (that i heard was pretty bad).
Also, sitting at a table, with a drink and music is much better than standing at a balcony ~ in my opinion!

We enjoyed watching the cliff divers from La Perla and since one of our party is in a wheelchair it was the only option. The free public viewing area with the huge number of steps was out of the question.
The show was great and the drinks were fine. We should have stopped there but it was dinner time and we were enjoying the place so we decided to eat. I ordered the Surf and Turf at $50 USD and found it completely inedible. Several others in our party thought their meals were unpleasant as well. When we asked for a discount because we had not eaten the food and showed the manager that the lobster was definitely not good, he did, after much arguing, give us a discount.
If you have physical restrictions or just want to be comfortable, watch the divers from La Perla but definitely dodge the food!

It is too bad that the poor management of this place directly affects the divers tips as it does have a great view of the divers. The food and service are average at best. The BAD part is the staff hound you for tips. The guy who sat us asking for a tip all the way to the table and then the table was disappointing. The server who was good at first but then completely forgot us and our final course. We had to reorder it. We are usually very big tippers and would have tipped anyway but I resented be harassed. We were happy to tip the divers who often get forgotten but it was annoying to be hit up by anyone that talked to you. Oh yes, The waiter stomping on the cockroach next to our table was not the most appetizing either!

Seriously, do NOT under any circumstances book this "attraction". The sales people at your resort will try to sell it to you. It sounds great... a ride to and from the cliff divers, 2 drinks, appetizers, entree and dessert and TWO shows of the cliff divers... all for a low, low $70 a piece... You'll think it through and tell yourself, "ah, it's not that bad a price and everyone talks about the cliff divers". Ok, the ride there and back is the best and only good part of this whole trip. The food IS ABSOLUTELY AWFUL... I mean, TERRIBLE, trust me... the restaurant is old, not so clean and way outdated. The food is disgusting. Our soup tasted like metal, the entree I had personally could have been thrown as a weapon (chicken) and the live band is so loud and off-key you can hardly hear yourself think. You can't hear the cliff diver announcer at all, you're super far away from the cliff divers and the atmosphere is extremely disappointing. LOW RENT! And you don't need to see TWO shows of the cliff divers. It's not that exciting, slow and not well orchestrated at all. And then, after the TWO shows (one was PLENTY, ugh) the cliff divers are waiting outside to beg you for tips. DO NOT GET SUCKERED into this giant waste of time and money. We were so disappointed we'd fallen for the gimmick. They really need to do something about the offer. I could go on and on about how absolutely AWFUL the food, drinks, atmosphere was. TAKE OUR WORD FOR IT!

We enjoyed the cliff divers and the dinner show.
But the restaurant is a parody of a real restaurant. The servers acted strangely, were distracted, clumsy and odd. The coup de grace was when a server slipped and sprayed a full tray of silverware across the restaurant. And somehow we knew it was coming-everything felt off the minute we walked in.
Our one order of fajitas was served in three different installments. They forgot to bring the beans...then they forgot to bring the rice...then they forgot to bring the guacamole. We kept staring at each other in disbelief. I cant remember ever having an experience like this in a restauant.
We wished we had read the other reviews here before we went. As the sign above the gate to Dante's hell reads, "Abandon all hope, ye who enter here."

The service was terrible. We arrived at 9:30. It took till 10 till we got our drinks and we cancelled our food order when the show was over and we hadn’t gotten our meal yet! For $40mxn you can walk down the hill and get a far better view. Was fun to check out the old photos of people from Hollywood that had been there.

We had a great table overlooking the world famous cliff divers. The service was very good, but the food was average at best. Go to this classic historical restaurant for the best view of cliff divers and to see all of the photos of Acapulco history. The walls contain hundreds of signatures and photos of celebrities from the 50s to current day.
Suggestions: get rid of ugly onyx lamps that are on the railings. They are way too bright and distract from the divers. Add ceiling fans with lights that dim.

I took some friends and we were a little late for the divers so we decided to wait at the restaurant and have some food. OMG huge mistake!!! I order a fish sillet that cost almost $35USD and was horrible. I think the fillet was in the freezer for months before the served it and the service was super bad. The unprofessional waiter did not have a clue about wine and he did not even know the menu well. My friend had the steak and was rubbery and tasted really bad. Even the stupid enchiladas (which is a typical dish) were bad. I think that Taco Bell could beat them up...yes at that level. Also, there is a minimum you MUST spend if you decide to order drinks only. Stick with beer or wine because the cocktails are ridiculous as well. Also, don;t forget to bring headphones to listen to your IPOD because the LIVE music is horrendus and completely out of synch!! The spectacle also needs a lot of help so it can be more organized. It is badly orchestrated and takes so long for nothing!!

Was at this restaurant 3 or 4 times for the cliff divers show. The menu is not exhautive but a dish of fish, beef, chicken or seafood. Ask for a table near the show and you will enjoy both!
