We make a point of visiting early Missions wherever we are as they have so much history. We were a little disappointed as this was rebuilt so very little remained of the original mission. It still is worth a trip, and the surrounding town is just charming. Thoroughly enjoyed our day to Tados Santos. This is an active Church.

The Mission de Santa Rosa in Todos Santos is such a beautiful, moving place that is a must-see if you are ever in the area. The architectural details and old history both inside and outside of the Mission take your breath away! I found it so peaceful inside and loved to just sit and take in all of the details.... More

Another classic small church that dots the Baja by the missionaries. Not as colourful as it used to be or in the best of shape.

Everyone knows you can hear the Mission bells from the Hotel California... This Mission was pleasant and quiet but not overly adorned with artwork, decorations, etc. Nice enough, nothing outstanding.

Small typical colonial mission! It is always nicer to see this church when there is some kind of celebration to see the social life but appart from that it is very simple!

The Misione de Nuestra Senora de Pilar in located next to the Hotel California. It is up the hill and a short walk on the main street in town. You can visit this church in few minutes and if you are in Todos Santos for the day, a quick pop in is recommended.

Make sure to stop by and see the mission, but only briefly. It is very plain in both interior and exterior design making it not the most aesthetically pleasing religious site I have been to. Rather its simplicity is where the beauty really exists. Look carefully and you can find a few remnants of the mission's colonial past.

A trip to Todos Santos should include a visit to the mission on the square. Classic, simple spot with local sculptures inside. It is easy to imagine years ago people gathering around the mission and praying together as a community. We visited right after Christmas so the ornate, sweet manger scene was still on the altar.
