Overall, the CECUT has a innovative spirit to arrange not only great cultural exhibitions but also performances. I had the pleasure of visiting Tijuana for a weekend and CECUT was coincidentally presenting a legendary salsa band from Cuba, Los Van Van, it was great!

The CECUT is a cultural complex with a theater, museum, galleries, omnitheater, bookstore, cafe shop, restaurant and many more ammenities. The point of my review is the theater wich is the main Theater in the city of Tijuana and has an excellent view from all points inside and good acoustics, my only complain would be the seating which badly needs replacement as the seating is old and although it is in great condition the seats are really uncomfortable for a having a person seating for a long period of time.

I love going to CECUT! This cultural center is always busy with events. I've been to at least 5 festivals there this year that are free to attend. If you want to buy something then its up to you, or you can just hang out and have a good time with friends.
There are also many different things going on inside. We've watched astronomy presentations and contemporary dance. The amount of shows they have going on is great. Like I said always something to do. If you're not interested in that, check out the museum!

During a recent trip to Tijuana, Baja California, we had the opportunity to visit the Tijuana Cultural Center. It an amazing place to visit and will provide you with a good overview of the history and culture of Baja California. It is covalently located close to the Mexico / US border on Paseo de los Heroes (approximately 15 -20 minute walk). Entrance fee is 50 Pesos ($2.50 US). The facility is spherical, which gives it a weird look. Inside it is amazing with all the exhibits and events taking place. You will not be board. Check out the statues, walk around the facility and stop at the book stores. Take pictures and spend several hours learning about Mexico and it culture. Suggest spending 1-2 hours at this site. Note: Numerous outstanding restaurants in the area. Well worth the effort.

I have a young German guest with me, will she be able to get across the border without problems?

If she is driving or walking into Mexico from the US, that is not a problem. Driving back in to the U.S. should also not be a problem. I'm assuming if she flew into the U.S. she already has the proper documents (passport stamp and I-92 you fill out upon arrival in the USA). Make sure you have those documents with you when you go back. The border has undergone a lot of changes recently, mostly to better expedite the crossing process. Even US citizens are now required to carry a passport to go back in. Any additional permits you may need (if she doesn't have them already) you used to be able to process them at secondary inspection. They have gotten a little stricter about it though, and they may want you to have that already by the time you get to the inspection. If you don't, depending on who you get, they may send you back to get it, then you have to wait in line all over again.
If you are walking, the office you get those documents from, you will actually walk by it to get to inspection point.
I would check with U.S. Customs and Homeland Security to verify documents needed.

How far is it from the border crossing to CECUT? Can we walk? Another quick question please...about how long did it take to cross back into the US? I know the wait times vary, but just a general idea will help. Thank you very much!

Hello, the walking border has been switched by places and it is a really long walk. Also, it is not safe at all to go walking through the streets without someone who can protect you. As a local I'd recommend taking an uber or if you have global entry/sentri take your car.
