We can't say enough good things about our guided trip with SKBM! First, other guests cancelled and they adjusted the tour to make it work and we ended up with a 4-day private tour! Second, their equipment is top notch and our highly skilled guide, Jorge, demonstrated safety, professionalism and customization to our competencies. Jorge adjusted our itinerary daily as we considered sea state and energy levels and we ended up two nights on Danzante and two on Isla del Carmen. Each beach was beautiful and unique with diverse geology. We named them the "Greek Beach" (red, green and white stones, sea stacks and caves), "Mayan Beach" (powdery white sand, volcanic ledges, fossils and sparkling turquoise seas) and the Baja Beach (dramatic mountain backdrop and red sandstone mountains and huge cacti).

We saw dolphins, turtles, breaching humpbacks and the elusive Blue Footed Boogie and were entertained by the hundreds of ever-fishing pelicans! Snorkeling at the aquarium beach was amazing and Jorge treated us to freshly caught fish for two dinners. The meals he prepared were fresh, healthy and delicious...smoked tuna salad, tortilla soup and jicama salad were a few of our favourites. Jorge struck the perfect balance of spending time with us and giving us our space. While started as guide/guests we ended as amigos.

We highly endorse and recommend Sea Kayak Baja Mexico (and have 20 years experience paddling and one of us a certified guide). In fact, we hope to join the again for their trip from Loreto to La Paz.

Muchas gracias Jorge for the perfect kick off to retirement!

Great attitudes lead to great adventures! Thank you so much for your positivity and your wonderful review. We are super proud of Jorge (and all our guides) and deeply appreciative of their commitment to excellence, safety and fun. I love your naming of the beaches! We look forward to seeing you again in Baja and sharing other exotic beaches down the coast to La Paz ; - )

We were looking for an active daytour in Loreto and were very happy with the trip to Coronados Island. We spent as much time in the kayaks as possible (we went about 8 miles) and as a result ended up not snorkeling. We did not get a real hike on Coronados to the top for great views, more a flat walk, which was a bit disappointing. But the sea lions and rock formations we saw from the kayaks on the island were fantastic, and our guide was knowledgeable and thoughtful. He checked regularly on whether we wanted to keep paddling or wanted to move on to something else. The trip over and back was lovely. Overall a wonderful day.
Also, we paid the extra $5 for the upgraded carbon fiber paddles. It was nice to have this option. We booked directly with the company.

Thank you for taking the time to review your trip, and for all the feedback. What a treat to paddle pretty much all the way around the island. Well done!! Yes, it was for the time paddling that your guided directed you towards the easier hike, as the trail to the top of the island is quite grueling and takes a bit of time. Take two steps up, slide one back, that kind of thing. What your experience does leave is an opportunity to return for a hike and snorkel! Danzante Island also has great paddling, snorkeling, and more accessible hikes with stunning views. It's a very different and equally beautiful landscape. Thanks again for the review, and we hope to see you on your next visit to Loreto!

My favorite part of my sea kayak adventure to Danzante Island was spending the night and going to sleep under the full moon and awakening to a beautiful sunrise, nestled in amongst the sea and the mountain range. This was a very memorable adventure for me and my friend. It was our first kayak excursion and Jorge made our time most memorable in the skillful way he oversaw our challenges and needs. I am very excited to continue to develop my skills and have more adventures on the sea!

We (a group of three friends) rented gear from Sea Kayak Baja Mexico to paddle from Loreto to La Paz, and apart from this region being one of the best paddling grounds ever, the gear, advice, safety and services this company offers are top-notch and reliable. We had the best time. Highly recommended. I took rolling clinics with Ginni and Tasha prior to our trip, and it finally clicked! I cannot thank you guys enough for making all this happen. We will be back!

I highly recommend Sea Kayak Baja Mexico. I went on a 10 day Loreto to La Paz skill builder trip with this company in March 2022. Everything about this experience was superior to the 3 previous enjoyable sea kayak trips that I have done with other solid companies in Southern Baja. Our leaders, owner Ginni Callahan, and Maria are gifted instructors and knowledgeable naturalist guides. They coach kayakers of all skill levels to become better paddlers with great group exercises and tips that are tailored for the individual. I appreciated learning more about the spectacular mountains, dessert, sea, wildlife and plants of Baja from them. The equipment was all top of the line and well maintained. A bonus was being able to rent and learn how to use the fun, effective sails that can be added to their kayaks. The food was tasty, healthy and filling. It all exceeded my expectations.

We recently did 2 trips with SKBM, the first in late Oct. 21, was a fully provisioned, (non-guided) 10 day trip from Loreto to La Paz. Izaura, Cristina and Ginni were extremely organized and didn't miss a detail. They were great in communicating with us pre-trip, offered a really helpful safety class, pre-trip to some of our group members, and are extremely passionate about what they do. They gave us advise and recommendations on where to camp and the weather forecast daily. I would definitely recommend going with Sea Kayak Baja Mexico and we plan to use them again in the future.

My husband and I celebrated our 39th wedding anniversary in Loreto, MX,which included a three day kayak trip with SEA KAYAK BAJA MEXICO to Isla Danzante . Owner Ginni Callahan led us on this magical trip that immersed us In the beauty and wonder of this part of the Sea of Cortez. Amazing sunrises, incredible snorkeling with friendly puffer fishes, dolphins swimming nearby, birds everywhere, and even a tarantula calmly making its way back to its burrow in the morning. We loved kayaking in and around the nearshore rocks to see all the wildlife. We did a hike on the island as well. The food was fresh, delicious and plentiful, too. It was an awe inspiring experience that we will savor and remember forever!!

My second time with Sea Kayak Baja Mexico. This was a private trip with 7 friends similar to the Loreto Islands Builder trip. We saw fin whales, blue whales, humpback whale, blue footed boobies, sea turtles and beautiful sunsets. Food was excellent and healthy and the guides are excellent paddlers, coaches, cooks and very knowledgeable about the area. Loreto is a lovely Mexican town and we wished we had stayed longer to enjoy the area. My husband was a little reluctant to go but was sold 100% and wants to go back to Sea Kayak Baja.

Thank you so much, Kayakgirlmn : )) We appreciate your return, especially bringing a group of friends, and converting your husband to a Baja fan! Your enthusiasm is at the heart of our success, and supports the good we strive to do in the community, the environment, and the world. Way to pass on the inspiration! I'm stoked to hear about your whale sightings. There have been many around this year, which is a cause for great celebration. Thank you too for mentioning Loreto itself. It's an oft-overlooked aspect of being "out there" on a paddling vacation. We love our little one-traffic-light town, especially the fact that the traffic light still doesn't work, and the traffic doesn't care one bit. Warm regards from the heart of Baja. We look forward to seeing you, your hubby, and your friends back again soon!

I have a "kayaking in Baja" addiction and I keep coming back for more. I have previously done 3 guided Baja trips with Sea Kayak Baja Mexico and have just returned now from a 10 day kayak rental for my husband and I to circumnavigate Carmen Island. SKBM provides absolute top notch equipment on both their guided trips and rental only trips. On this last trip our rental included everything from Mutha Hubba tents to Thermarest sleeping bags, and MSR Reactor and Whisperlight stoves. You have your choice of kayaks (we used NDK Explorers) and type of Werner paddle that you wish. Filled water bags are also provided. The only thing that we missed on this unguided trip was the guides! They are all so knowledgeable about the local area and wildlife; we really missed that aspect of the trip. After 12 kayak trips in Baja (and still counting!), I can say that SKBM provides outstanding service and equipment and I highly recommend them!

Everything on the trip was top-notch. We did the six day Carmen Island primer trip in december. The food was outstanding, the equipment was all top notch and the guides were skilled and knowledgeable. The trip leader Jorge even let me use his tent because I forgot my tent poles at the hotel! It was a great mix of challenging days and easy days with one layover day in the middle of the trip. The south side of Carmen Island was like paddling through a giant Aquarium.
