Sea Kayak Adventures provided a wonderful whale watching experience that exceeded our expectations. Diego Vega, our guide, seemed to be a whale whisperer. The whales appeared magically, it seemed, and one played near and around our boat. Diego also gave two evening whales talks that were informative and entertaining. We were also fortunate to have Monica as a guide whose family has been instrumental in ensuring that whales continue to thrive in these protected waters as ecotourism grows.
The food and tents were good, there was plenty to drink, and the boatmen were pros. I highly recommend Sea Kayak Adventures and a three or four day whale watching trip.

We recently used Sea Kayak Adventures for their 4 day Whale Watching Camp in Magdalena Bay and their Bubble Trip Loreto to Cabo. We had a wonderful trip and it was largely due to the professionalism of the guides. This was our first travel experience since the Covid lockdowns and we definitely had pent up desire to travel. Morag was wonderful in the booking - answering all our questions, concerns and flexible to our needs. Our guides were Rafa for Whale camp and Diego for Loreto to Cabo. They were professional and fun. They worked hard ever day to ensure we had a great vacation. They were flexible to meet our needs. Whale camp is definitely ‘camp’’ and therefore might not be for everyone. But if you like an adventure the camp experience is definitely worth it for the whale encounters. We really appreciated that the guides respected the whale watching protection rules. On our trip from Loreto to Cabo we spent sometime in rural Mexico. There were no restaurants in one town open after 5:00 pm. And at another hotel the restaurant was by reservation only. In both cases Diego was scouring Google and his local contacts to ensure our vacation was special. We had a wonderful time and would use Sea Kayak again! Thank you Morag, Rafa and Diego!

We toured the Islands of Loreto for five days of well supported kayaking in the national marine park. It was a very relaxing experience. Great kayaking, great food, great guides, and everything well planned and well executed. Highlights included watching Pelicans dive over and over for pintaño (Sargeant Major Damselfish), watching a pod of dolphins jump as they fed (probably on the same fish as the pelicans), and seeing a school of mobula rays jumping as they swam by. It's very much a full service tour, with all of the equipment and food, camp setup, meal prep and cleanup, and other odds and ends all provided by the guides and support crew. Our guides Mario and Rafa, cocinero and super-panguero Ramon and intern Kimberly did an excellent job, including adapting plans for a bit of Turista that cropped up because of some bad food in town, and scheming to acquire more beer and wine from other parties.
The kayaking required for this trip is quite basic and easy. The kayaks were high quality fiberglass sea kayaks.
All in all the trip exceeded expectations.

My friend and I joined Sea Kayak Adventures in late January on their week-long 3x3 kayaking and whale watching trip and it was amazing. We kayaked around several islands in the Loreto Bay National Park, learning about their unique geology, ecology and cultural history from our expert naturalist guides, Diego and Amaranta. After each day of exploring the islands and birdwatching by kayak, we ate fresh mole and warm pineapple cake under the stars, slept soundly in our tents and woke up to dolphins swimming right outside. It was dreamy. Whale Camp in Magdalena Bay was a whole other adventure. Once again, our tents were set up along the coast, all overlooking the bay where gray whales migrate to each year to have their babies. We could see some of them spouting from shore, but we also spent hours each day watching them while out on the water in small panga boats. This is one of the few places in the world where these whales are so curious about us humans that some of them actually approach the boats. One came right up to the boat and lifted its head out of the water and for the first time I found myself eye to eye with a whale. To be able to connect with this incredible marine mammal on this level was life-changing. Now, I want to learn everything I can about whales and how to protect them. I would highly recommend this trip to anyone that wants a perfect blend of adventure, relaxation and education at its best, in nature.

We're in Loreto for the 4 day Gray Whale camping excursion. This is and outdoor experience. For me, It was perfect from beginning to end. We saw lots of whales, guides were knowledgeable and eager to please. Food was great and prepared fresh on site daily. Tents 8x8 ish size, and bunks comfortable. This is just shy of glamping. no running water, electricity or flushing toilet. You can recharge your phone but suggest taking a couple personal charges, as well as flashlight and it can get chilly at night and on the boat I would not take kids younger than 10 or 12. The only entertainment is socializing with other people on the trip, the whale talks and the panga trips out to see the whales.

The best guides we've ever had.

We took a six day kayaking trip around the islands of Loreto Bay in Baja California. The trip consisted of kayaking, snorkeling and hiking. It was exceptional! We've been on a number of these types of trip and this one is at the top.

What made the trip stand out, beside the beauty of the location, were the guides. Our guides were Amaranta and Clarissa. They were highly competent and knowledgeable, of course. What set them apart was their exceptional good spirits, humor and clear pleasure in their guests. I can't emphasize strongly enough what a difference this made in our overall experience.

Just finished a 4 day trip of the islands of Loreto. It was beyond fabulous! First of all, the guides were the best ever - Amaranta, Lorena and Jennifer. They were fun, engaging, skilled, encouraging and tireless. The food was incredible! We were entertained by many dolphin pods! I would do this trip again in a heartbeat! Highly highly recommend!

We just spent four days with SKA, watching grey whales in Magdalena Bay. The trip was outstanding. The guides and panga drives worked together to ensure we had optimal opportunities to see and interact with the whales. The guides were very knowledgeable and friendly. Camping on the dunes with a view of the lagoon was beautiful. The food was fantastic - lots of variety and delicious meals. It was the trip of a lifetime, to have the chance to engage with these majestic creatures. We had so many opportunities to engage with them at close proximity - many people on the trip were able to touch the whales on more than one occasion.

I just finished my fourth trip with SKA and my second around Isla Carmen. It was the best yet. Excellent leadership, food, weather and snorkeling. Alejandro was terrific. It's my favourite trip in the Baja.

I just finished the Loreto to La Paz trip. It was excellent. This was my fifth trip with SKA and each one has been terrific. The guides are very knowledgeable and provide us with excellent meals and activities. I always feel safe with them. The Baja is a beautiful place and SKA is the best way of experiencing it.
