What a fun day! We saw 15 whale Sharks, we swam with three and it was magic! Adolfo is calm and good natured a wonderful captain, the catamaran is rad! Juan picked me up and was good natured and attentive he picked great routes and spots to stop.

Mariana was the star though, an actual marine biologist and so down to earth and cool, passionate and positive, we were lucky to have her, quite a difference from the other tours you can tell when you see them. She really brought the experience to life, lots of insight great stories and a pretty darn good sou chef! The food was excellent, authentic and killer tacos! I can’t wait to bring my son!

Thank you again to the whole team, I’ll never forget swimming with those majestic creatures, we need to do whatever we can to make sure they always remain!

Ross, Thank you for sharing your experience. The good news about the whale sharks, is we've been seeing more of them every year. And, we are seeing even larger ones than in years past. Cheers! Terry

Incredible experience! The crew made the trip exceptional! Eprin, our guide in and out of the water, made our trip! I don’t know how to swim and haven’t snorkeled in years. She was reassuring and confident I would be fine and even held my hand in the water! She calmed my fears and I enjoyed being so close to these “gentle giants.” She was also very knowledgeable and gave a talk on the ride back from the panga to the catamaran which was entertaining and informative! We had wonderful food prepared by Chef Jenny. Lorenzo, our panga captain, was very helpful and got everyone excited and ready to jump in with the whale sharks! Jesus, our catamaran captain, was very helpful getting everyone from the panga to the catamaran. On a side note, the weather is not guaranteed and the trip can be canceled which is no fault of the company. Terry, the owner, was in contact with me prior to the trip. We adjusted our day as the weather was scheduled to be windy on our original scheduled day. I am so glad we switched as the weather did get windy! We were given wet suits which helped. Also there are showers in the catamaran to change as it is cool in December. I would suggest checking the weather and bring light clothing as it can be breezy. It is more money than the other charters but you pay for what you get!

This was awesome. Great experience - for my first contact with a sea creature, especially a very large one. Mariana was terrific: The energy and excitement she brought to the trip were contagious. She explained what to expect and what the rules of engagement were. I felt safe in her hands. We had a GREAT meal on the way back complete with Margaritas. This adventure was worth the trip down from LA.

We booked 6 day, 5 night excursion in the Sea of Cortez aboard the Baja Pacifica Yacht, expecting a 1st class experience with 4 days of scuba diving (extra cost). We were very disappointed to find a tired, old, unkempt, boat. Although the crew was new to the boat and very impressive, the whole experience was not as advertised on the website or described by the owner in numerous telephone conversations. There was a lack of ammenities such as sunblock, aloe, first aid supplies, etc. Snorkeling was OK but limited. Diving was NOT OK and too expensive.

Save your money & travel time. We saw more right in Cabo where boat crew was friendly and engaged. This group strictly did a job and chatted amongst themselves as if guests were not even on the boat.
The whale shark area was closed. There was no offer of alternatives. We saw sea birds & sea lions. The coral was quite damaged but the guide really couldn’t share any information about the damage or the area. If the guide was a biologist she either did not like being one or disliked sharing information with guests. Almost zero information was shared about what we did see and answers to questions were vague. Nothing was shared about the areas we passed until we boarded the launch to look at birds and sea lions. We had the opportunity to stop at one beach and then the boat was on auto pilot back to the marina while the staff chatted below. No explanation of what we were seeing or why there was literally nothing except sea lions in what is supposed to be the aquarium to the world. Food was adequate but nothing special and this absolutely was not worth the money or time.
The expectations were not well set due to the fact the whale shark area was closed but even so this could have been a fun time had the staff engaged guests in anyway or shared information with us. They did not. Complete fail.

I am so sorry that your experience was not what you or we would have liked. The whale shark park was temporarily closed by regulators for the first time in twelve years mid season. It has now reopened. We advised you in advance of the situation and offered to reschedule. Apparently you did not read our six different notices of this unfortunate situation. You are welcome to return and go out with us again for FREE.

I grew up on the ocean, this trip was the best 4 hour water experience of my life! Dolphins, whale Sharks, and sea lions all in one short morning!

I just read a negative review about the staff from someone who apparently had nothing nice to say about anyone? I’ve done 3 tours with this company now, and going back in 3 weeks! Sammy, Maria, Chewy (the captain) are all very friendly. To the person that complained, not all staff speak English in Mexico, and sometimes speaking a little Spanish goes a long way! I have never experienced ANY staff ‘yelling’ at anyone, not even when I’ve seen a guest get unruly on a tour. About the comment on being rushed, my first two tours were before covid and there was no feeling of being rushed to get out to the whale shark spot. My last trip was two weeks ago, and yes, now we have to get out as soon as we can because the Mexican gov’t limits the tours per day and hour now. We wanted to be one of the first groups out or we had to wait 2-4 hours! So thank you team for rushing us out there. Welcome to the ‘new world’ and you need to be flexible as the world changes.

Absolutely going back and I give this company a 5 star review!

The company I work for Madison Square Gardens Studios Chartered the "Pacifica" for a Dive/Shoot trip to film seals off of Espiritu Santo for 16 days. What an amazing experience. The Best Crew Ever!! I have Chartered boats for decades and I must say this is by far one of the best operations out there. Gabe the captain was professional and safety minded, his wife is an amazing chef who cooked for us non-stop. Lena is an amazing host professional diver and deck hand. She really took care of us day and night! Honestly there wasn't any request not fulfilled by Lena. Our British crew insisted on Boiling water for their tea and why not its their national drink so Gabe sent a supply vessel on a 5 hour trip to source a Tea Pot. AMAZING.. Lalo (I hope I spelled this correctly) is another crew member /deck hand who went above and beyond the call of duty. An Amazing Crew An Amazing Experience. I will Definitely see this Crew again!!! Thank You All!!!

The boat was packed and there in only one spot to sit outside comfortably.
We were instructed to meet at 9:00am where we waited for an hour before boarding the boat ( due to a shuttle coming in with approximately 20 people. There were about 30 people on the catamaran with crew, which I found to be too many people. The advertising WAY oversells the experience. You spend very little time on the actual catamaran and spend 75% of the time on a small snorkeling boat called a panga.
The tour is double (possibly triple) the price of other tours claiming a VIP experience. The wetsuits provided were in poor shape, ripped and damp from a previous charter. The towels were also damp and not clean…Ours looked as if they were food-stained.
In addition, the waves were huge that day 2 of the 4 of us vomitted and the other 2 were feeling sick for more than half the trip. We all took Dramamine. I could not enjoy the swim with the whale shark due to being sick AND the large Swells had me concerned for my family’s safety while they were in the water. The captain actually had to bail water from our panga during our swim because the swells were so large and kept coming into the panga.
In my opinion, the trip was extremely disappointing and uncomfortable for the amount of money we spent.

We booked a full day charter from La Paz which included an island tour, snorkeling with sea lions, and stops on the beach. It was AMAZING. So happy with the level of service provided, the condition of the boat, and the itinerary for the day. Included was our own private chef/bartender, naturalist, and captain. All were super knowledgeable, professional, kind and fun. Would highly recommend this to anyone and will definitely book again!!!
Thank you!

We had been looking forward for weeks to swim with whale sharks on our trip to Cabo. BCE sent us a driver - who showed up late. Once we arrived in La Paz, after a 90-minute drive, we were quickly shuffled aboard the boat (while being told we arrived late, and that’s why the water was rough).

But most outrageous was that only when we were under way that the crew informed us that because of Mexican Covid rules, we would not be swimming with the whale sharks. (This was true for all the charter operators by the way.) But it was something BCE knew about when we booked, and never bothered to inform us until we were out at sea.

Sorry, but we aren’t paying US$300+/head for a booze cruise. We had the captain return us to port so we could salvage some of our day. Very disappointing.

To be fair, this was not the crew’s fault. They were doing their jobs. The honchos in Cabo are to blame, they withheld the information.

This situation was unfortunate. Two Mexican government agencies created the problem when they failed to open the whale shark feeding zone according to published schedules. Day by day we waited to hear when they would open, which they eventually did. In the meantime, we put together a very attractive package for pre-booked guests. We explained the situation in two emails sent to booked guests and offered a full refund if guests preferred. In addition, the situation caused by Mexico City was listed and explained on the website home page with a large badge labeled Special Notice. Apparently, the author of this review, missed these notices. About a third of the booked guests took refunds, the balance went out and had a terrific time, plus received a gift certificate for a future whale shark encounter. This customer received a full refund on the same day, even though according to the Terms, it was not required as it related to a governmental choice and was not of our doing. Furthermore, all our operational costs were incurred on their behalf. The saying: "The Difference Between an Adventure and a Disaster is Attitude," is certainly true in this situation.
