This tour company was recommended by my hotel. The grey whales were everywhere, but unfortunately none completely breached, just their heads. You see their heads popping up everywhere around you (none too close to our boat though), and a few of them swam under our boat. It's a long drive so bring headphones or a book. Water and snacks were provided during the ride. "Lunch" was included but it was really dinner as they stopped at a restaurant at the end of the tour, around 4pm, back in town. They give you a limited menu with choices between tacos, tostidos, burger, chicken or fish fingers. The food was good but for the price of the tour, having the full menu to choose from would have been nice. Tipping at the restaurant was not included. The tour was nice, but not really worth the steep price. The experience and service wasn't outstanding.

Hi Jolie thank you for your comments. Grey whales are free animals so they can be on top, on the bottom, they can show their heads, their tails, be close enough to touch them, or close enough just to see them. The experience is amazing for everyone who loves nature and wild life. I´m glad you could see them so close when they swam under the boat. Wow ! that a great experience to live, considering the size of the whale... The place we visit is Magdalena bay, we make 2 hours to get there, and 2 hours to come back to La Paz, as we have to cross the Peninsula from the See of Cortes, to the Pacific ocean. It´s a good idea to bring your headphones, or a book if you want. Or you can talk and enjoy with others during the ride. The lunch is included when we come back to La Paz, as there is no proper restaurants on the highway to eat. Thats why we provide snacks on the way back, while we get to the restaurant. The menu has different options form traditional fish tacos, marlin, shrimp, empanadas, hambugers, options for vegetarians, options for kids, etc. And I have to say they are so good, that´s why is one of the best restaurants in La Paz. We wish you the best ! Regards !

This was one of the best tours we have taken ever! We stayed in LaPaz and the tour bus and our guide Jonathan picked us up right outside our AirBnB. We don't speak Spanish and the rest of the group did. But Jonathan made sure he explained everything in both languages and left no details out for us. The drive to Magdalena bay was wonderful and we saw at least 10 grey whales, dolphins and a plethora of birds. Jonathan kept everything light and looked to be super excited to see the whales even though he probably has seen the whales a hundred times. The tour bus had snacks and drinks, and we had a light packed lunch after the tour at Magdalena bay. At the end of it all the group had delicious food at Bismarck restaurant and the entire tour group got to chat with each other. February is peak whale watching season (mommy + babies) so we are hoping to do this again next year!

Whale watching was fine. Our “guide”, Jonathon, was actually just a driver as he provided only a three-minute overview of whale migration. Also, lunch was in La Paz at 4:45, which is quite late. We Bismarkcita is nice, but we could go there any time. Lunch at one of the Magdalena Bay restaurants would have been our preference.

Hello, thank you for sharing your experience. The guides do their best to explain everything about the whales, they have the knowledge and the experience to talk about where they come from, how they eat, travel, live, etc. It may looks like it is a short time considering it is a 2 hour drive from La Paz to Magdalena Bay. About the lunch, it is at 4 pm at La Paz, I know it is late, but unfortunately there isn’t a proper place that fills the standards of a restaurant over there. That’s why we offer snacks and now a box lunch on the way back to La Paz before we arrive to a restaurant that can offer good food and good service.

My wife and I and all 10 customers in our group were estática, very emotional and in Awe of this amazing experience. We were literally surrounded by these beautiful of God’s creatures Grey Whales . They were so close and even swam under our boat several times. They were so close they sprayed water on us and we almost touched them. An excellent experience we will never forget. Thank you for this wonderful day Choya tours and our young boat captain who knew where to place us for an adventure of our life. God willing we will return.

The visit to Espíritu Santo island was great. From the beginning you are engaged with the history and facts from different points of the island the tour guide Luis provides. Then you get to swim with sea lions very closery in their habitat, which is astonishing. And you get to eat a nice, well prepared lunch. Everything was great.
