The ship is in good maintenance, but the cooling system was not functioning correctly nor blowing cold air. The de-boarding process takes much too long; it took close to 90 mins to to vacate less than 100 passengers.

A very pleasant surprise was how new the boat is. From La Paz to Mazatlan was to take until 9.00 am next morning. Getting on was no problem as not that many passengers. The drinks were cheap and good. Pity about the food. Dinner included in the ticket was as dry as could be. Basic cabin with 4 beds was... More

Very clean - we booked a cabin with shower - slept so very well, dinner is included you just have to queue for your food, but only takes minutes. It takes longer to go through th Customs and Immigration checks and that is not Baja Ferries' fault!!

We had a good experience with Baja Ferries. Food was ok, and sleeping in the TV-room was good as well. Don't expect luxury at the TV-room, but we had enough space to lie down. I don't know the quality of the rooms because they where all booked when we got our tickets.

We reserved passage for two people, our SUV and a cabin on the Baja Ferry from Mazatlán to La Paz because we wanted to drive home to Canada via the Baja. Booking on line was relatively easy and the cost, $380 Cndn, reasonable. We received an email a week in advance saying the sailing had been cancelled due to a... More

We booked passage from La Paz to Mazatlán at the terminal about two weeks before we wanted to cross on our way by car to Ajijic. We arrived at the terminal on the day of our voyage only to be told the ship was having maintenance all week so all trips to Mazatlán were cancelled. Would have thought they would... More

This was the most complicated and stressful ferry ride ever. Bureaucratic procedure and security concerns trump passenger comfort and convenience every time. However, the crossing itself, the comfort of cabanas and the other facilities were satisfactory. (A little real food for breakfast would have gone well with the morning coffee.) A few bilingual signs helping the inexperienced traveller through a... More

At Mazatlán I was encouraged by a man who, having just arrived from La Paz, had enjoyed the trip. I accept that lots of people make this trip without trouble but that wasn't my experience. When I arrived at the terminal, the person at the window had the "no hay" (there isn't any) attitude which fortunately is rare in Mexico,... More

We were not on the ferry but went to see the newly built terminal, built in 2014. Great meals upstairs and very reasonable prices and oh so c!ean. The washrooms were also very clean. We watched the ferry arriving. Very impressive.

We took Bajaferries from Topolobambo to La Paz. As per policy you have to be at the ferry 2 hrs prior to departure. So we had to get up before 4 am in order to take the boat which will leave at 6 am. However, it left only at 7.30 am with no information of the delay and we arrived... More
