At Mazatlán I was encouraged by a man who, having just arrived from La Paz, had enjoyed the trip. I accept that lots of people make this trip without trouble but that wasn't my experience. When I arrived at the terminal, the person at the window had the "no hay" (there isn't any) attitude which fortunately is rare in Mexico,... More

We were not on the ferry but went to see the newly built terminal, built in 2014. Great meals upstairs and very reasonable prices and oh so c!ean. The washrooms were also very clean. We watched the ferry arriving. Very impressive.

We took Bajaferries from Topolobambo to La Paz. As per policy you have to be at the ferry 2 hrs prior to departure. So we had to get up before 4 am in order to take the boat which will leave at 6 am. However, it left only at 7.30 am with no information of the delay and we arrived... More

We wanted the experience of traveling from Mazatlan to LaPaz by ferry as it seemed like a great way to see more of the area. We were wrong! You need to arrive 3 hours before departure time, which you end up sitting in their departure lounge, so not sure why they need so much pre departure time. Even though we... More

decrepit people barge, a 90% discount would be adequate, don;t look at the life and death boats, or you'll get the creeps....

I was a little surprised at how the boat was, I was pretty modern for the Baja. That's about where it ended. Completely disorganised, only 1 port entry/exit on the boat with about 2000 people. It took about 1.5 hour to get on and off. Once on the boat it was a free for all for the seats and cafeteria... More

I have been on the Baja Ferry twice this past summer and it is truly an international experience especially for a gringo member of the Mexico population. This is not like any Ferry ride you have taken before. You need a passport, export documentation for your vehicle if coming from La Paz, there are fees of all sorts "leaving" Mexico... More

We booked our tickets online - to travel from Pichilingue, La Paz to Topolobampo, Los Mochis. Booking it on tehir website was easy and straight forward. Upon arriving at La Paz, we found out that there were some travel disruptions with our train travel from Los Mochis and had to change the date of our trip with Baja Ferries. We... More

If you can't climb multiple flights of very narrow stairs, have trouble carrying your own baggage, or have the normal aches and pains of getting older, do not take this ferry ride. it is easier to drive the distance than to put thru this meat grinder. Appropriate for truck drivers and poor people used to living on the streets.

Staff was very efficient and polite. Voyage was smooth, on time and no complaints. This is not a vacation cruise. This is a transport ferry so don't expect lots of amenities, but the cabin was super clean, fairly comfortable bed and even had nice night lights, plenty of hot water, a great shower. You leave La Paz at the Pichilingue... More
