Did this as a shore excursion on the NCL Bliss on Saturday. I paid $99 just for me, and there were 5 of us, to take a bus ride on a winding road to a dry former waterfall. Not even a bottle of water was offered to the victims of this ā€œexcursionā€. Def skip this, especially if you are a hiker.

Did this excursion as part of Royal Caribbean. Told us is was a 45 minute ride but was actually a 1.5 hour ride in a van packed so tight there is no legroom for tall people. 30 minutes of the drive is on dirt roads. Hike is 1 mile out and 1 mile back. Canyon is nice area but with the drought, no waterfall and only a trickle of water in a stream. Small natural hot spring was ok but no place to sit. Stop at a local brewery on the way back was not worth it. Beautiful day and good tour guide, but the experience was disappointing.

El Salto (the jump) is a beautiful canyon located off the Tijuana ā€“ Ensenada Libre Highway at KM 76. This facility has a parking area with a day use fee (around $2), or camping fee (around $4). There a toilets, a small store, picnic benches, grills, and some playground and sports equipment. It is excellent spot for rock climbing, rappelling and hiking. In the rainy season you can view a spectacular +100ft. waterfall.

Amazing geology, beautifully scenic location. Dog friendly. Day trips or camping overnight. Great for hiking, boulder scrambling, rappelling, climbing, car camping, backpacking (showers and toilets with running water). Huge, beautiful rock formations. There is a kind of black, shiny, smooth rock here that I just love to touch. Lots of places to explore. There is a trail up and over a big hill. It's steep, but really worth the effort (vale la pena!), because the views from the top are stunning. Go down the other side, into the canyon, surrounded by rugged rock cliffs and you come to a little lagoon, with a sandy inland beach, and fish in the lagoon! I'd love to know the story of how that lagoon was formed and how the fish got there!

Or you can make your way across the flat rock mesas to the cliffs that drop down into the canyon. A popular place for rappelling. There is a stream and many small ponds around throughout this area.

It's only about an hour's drive from Ensenada, mostly on the paved free road (highway), only the last little bit is on a dirt road in decent condition.

Really enjoyed the short hike. Directions to the trail are pretty sparse, but walk through the main campground.

Once you get to the falls (in season) / canyon you need to scramble over some boulders...which I love.

Beautiful area about 30 minute drive from Enesenada. The trails are poorly marked, and it's only about a 20 minute walk to the falls (or the area where they apparently occasionally run), but you can hike beyond that if you want. There is a steep trail to the left (north) of the falls which climbs a ridge to an amazing view of another canyon and no sign whatsoever of civilization. Worth the climb!

I went with a friend - we spent a bit of time looking for the hike, it was on a trail behind a campsite that was being occupied. From the highway, follow all of the signs all the way until you reach the parking lot. Then head down and left from there, until you pass a swing set on your left, then turn right and pass a couple campsites until you reach the trailhead.

It's a short hike into a beautiful gorge. Would not take children, since wandering would probably be dangerous at the end. Otherwise, an easy hike for most.

My family and I have hiked here on various occasions. I have taken my 5 year old on the hike with no problem. There are some areas you need to watch your step because of the rocks and boulders. At the end you will be at the mouth of a canyon where people go repelling and rock climbing. Do not go during the rainy season because you cannot do the hike. Much of the hike is in a dried up river bed. Also, if you feel like being adventurous.... As you near the mouth of the canyon, there is a trail that breaks off to the left. It's hard to find but it goes over the final mountain on your left side. You go up and over the mountain and come down on the other side of the canyon. From there you can see a small lake which has fish in it, and you can get into the canyon on the bottom if you wish.

This is an awesome and deep little black-rock canyon. Waterfalls are beautiful whenever they're flowing which they weren't while we were here this month, but we still had a blast working our way into this canyon and free-climbing out. I jumped into the deep and cold pool at the bottom, but it was tough to get out again. Next time I'll bring ropes. This place is well signed but off the free road between Rosarito Beach and Ensenada.

The location is accessible by any kind of vehicles. The cover charge is reasonable. It has plenty areas to enjoy a BBQ! Grills and table provided. The trail is clear of obstacles and easy access for kids. The canyon is impressive but not accessible or safe for kids. However, any adult or teenagers can easy hike this trail (as long they are in a decent shape / water (10 essentials). Make sure to select the free highway Ensenada -Tijuna@! If you select the visual highway you will be in the wrong rode!
