I took a motorcycle ride yesterday down to Sierra de San Francisco yesterday, Most of the road off Highway 1 is paved (29 of 37 kms). The other 8 are pretty challenging and a lot of fun on a Duosport motorcycle! The settlement is small, currently Hostel Buenaventura is closed, as is their restaurant. I'm not sure of their plans,... More

I would NOT recommend it if you are very unfit, afraid of heights, a princess or overall not keen on roughing it. I WOULD very much recommend it if you are mostly fit and don't cry over a broken nail. It will be dirty! but fun! a) to arrange permits, guide and mules you must first go to the office... More
