Some folks are beginning to call it the Dead Sea of Cortez. Illegal catches and longliners have drastically diminished the fish populations in recent years; it's sad. There are occasional catches, but it's pathetic compared to 15-20 years ago. The best place to hire a boat is Hotel Pescadera, on the north side of town. Her crews do a great... More

Ted was a phoenominal instructor and captain. I love the desert, mountains, blue sky, and the sea. The Sea of Cortez is blessed by an abundance of all. I earned three certifications on board and cannot wait until I have the opportunity to use the experience and training I received. I'd recommend this program to anybody who has a strong... More

Absolutely amazing. Not only did I receive my ASA certification, but I had an amazing trip. With our terrific instructor, Ted, we sailed, explored islands, hiked, snorkeled, swam with sea lions, and learned a lot. The trip and course were very well done and I am looking into doing a flotilla with Nautilus Sailing.

Sailed on the Safari Endeavour operated by Un-Cruise. A most stunning destination - Baja is a wonderful place. The crew on the ship, the activities and the food wonderful. The ship is not luxurious but a really comfortable little vessel. Hiking, whale watching, kayaking, snorkelling and swimming. What more could you ask for? Go to Baja if you get the... More

Not a giant-city-of-a-cruise...rather, a small village of 83 passengers, learning about the Sea of Cortez while snorkeling, kayaking, whale watching, and yes, eating great food, much of it local and all of it delish! Crew were personable, learned our names in the first day or so, focused on fun and safety and being stewards of the area. And more fun.... More

Just completed American Sailing Association (ASA 101, 103 & 104) with Nautilus Sailing in the Sea of Cortez out of LaPaz Mexico on the Baja Peninsula. It was a one week course that totally took me out of my element. I am a prairie boy who was not too familiar with boating. It was a great experience. We lived on... More

I went simply to earn my Bareboat Captains certification. However my captain/instructor, Tim Geisler, had a different approach. It was far beyond my expectations...it was a complete and fantastic adventure. Not only did I complete my certification, but I also had a phenomenal sailing trip as did the other 3 students aboard. Tim's knowledge of sailing,of the Sea of Cortez,... More
