Thank you to Desert & Sea Expeditions. They provided the BEST day trip during our UnCruise adventure to the Sea of Cortez. They picked us up on the Sea of Cortez side and drove us to the San Ignacio Lagoon for a few hours of gray whale watching. Words cannot describe how magical this experience was. I was breaking in... I've always wanted to get close to whales but this trip surpassed all expectations. I went with Wildlife Worldwide. Flying over to San Diego then a small plane the next day down the Baja peninsular for 6 days of whale watching at Antonios on the San Ignacio lagoon. We went out twice a day for about 2 hours each time... More

We booked a day out with Pachico's Eco tours and it was well worth it. It was a long, and in the last few kilometres, quite a difficult drive to get to the boat launch on the lagoon, but well worth it in the end. You might consider staying in one of their cabins. The day out, on the small... More

We were on a tour with Naturetrek of Baja California for wildlife, birdwatching, whales, plants etc and spend two amazing days in the lagoon. Most of the time the water was calm so it was easy to see the whales and it wasn't long before we got our first encounter. Going later on in the season, the whales were sooooo... More

We did this excursion about 20 years ago and plan to repeat it in 2017. No point in my going to great lengths to repeat everyone else's comments. But touching a 30 ton whale (with a one ton baby in tow) affected me more than I expected. That evening we ate at a popular restaurant in San Ignacio. There was... More

Outstanding experience. Great crew. Had family from 12-73 and all had an outstanding time. Food was awesome, great food every meal. Crew went overboard to make it an unforgettable experience for all ages . Will do it again.

I first read about this amazing place, and the risk of losing this amazing place, in a Reader's Digest article about 15 years ago. I saved the article, and finally made the trip with Baja Expeditions in 2006. That trip was a once-in-a-lifetime experience - until we did it again 10 years later! Wow! Wow! Some folks might think they've... More

First, a description of the whales: INCREDIBLE!!!!! INCREDIBLE!! We had such a good interaction and the whales did not seem to mind us at all. They enjoyed our curiosity and seemed to be just as curious in us! Now Antonios: Antonio's Ecotours gave us an incredible experience. They have opened a new office super close to the mission, which made... More
