Went to see Nerve (2016). The film wasn't great but the screen we was in was really cosy. The screen hosted around 20 seats but the chairs were really comfy, almost a sofa chair. Would recommend if you're in the area, the price is cheaper than the cinemas closer to the city centre too.

What a lovely experience. The Sun Theatre has a few Cinemas, some still in the nostalgic style. The Staff are also very nfriendly. Ideal for a day out or go on a Saturday night and you can enjoy a Wine or Beer etc. whole watching the Movie. You can also organise a light lunch for a group at a very... More

The Sun Movie Theatre in Yarraville has been like a part of our family since day one. Starting back in the 1930's when it was to be built, a call went out for local residents to take part in the construction & my Grandfather was employed as one of the workers. Upon its completion the cinema quickly became a focal... More

It is reasonably small in comparison to a modern cinema (Hoyts/Village). If you come here on a Saturday be prepared to queue, especially in summer. In summer queues often go for a few meters. The seats here are firm so not ideal for lounging around. This place is ideal if you are eating in one of areas many restaurants. If... More

This theatre is almost like a step back in time. Very eclectic and comfortable. Has a nice bar so you can sit and watch a movie with a nice champs. Seats are really comfortable and clean. Really loved it.

I grew up in the area and on a given Saturday night the whole family in fact all the Greeks, which was nearly all of Yarraville (it was known as little Greece in the 60's) would dress up and head on down to the Sun Theatre to watch Greek dramas, comedies, early Bollywood movies, and of course the three Stooges... We love sipping a wine whilst lounging in the large leather chairs. This place is full of character which adds to the experience. The candy bar serves freshly popped popcorn and hand dipped choc tops - doesn't get much better!
