Gorgeous Art Deco cinema. Helpful staff, great range of theatres, from small & intimate, to large for the bigger ticket movies. Great comfy seats, good range of drinks & snacks. Truly the heart of Yarraville village. I wouldn’t see a film anywhere else 👍

Excellent Art Deco theatre showing a wide selection of mainstream and less well known movies. Excellent comfy chairs and you can buy booze at the candy bar to bring in to the theatre with you. Worthwhile going just for the experience.

The Sun is a great venue with diverse films in comfortable surrounds. Grab a glass of wine or a Choc Top and relax in a sofa seat to watch your movie , no adds is a bonus.

After 80 years the Sun Theatre is not just the heart of Yarraville Village but is loved and cherished by both locals and visitors. On occasion this lovely cinema even welcomes Hollywood icons - Quentin Tarantino chose to visit during a promotional trip for The Hateful Eight, after seeing an in-house doco on how the Sun has restored old 70mm projectors. Now divided into several smaller screens, the Sun is still a vibrant place, lovingly restored, and well worth a visit, especially for lovers of old, historical movie houses. Open 7 days a week, with Mondays and Tuesdays popular discount days, and screening the latest releases as well as 70mm and special events such as NT Live, the Sun is always worth a visit.
