Old style picture theatre, home made ice-cream and comfy seating. Great for functions/group bookings. Pop up park outside for gatherings. Yarraville at its finest!!

My daughter bought tickets online for a pre mothers day celebration. She accidentally purchased 5 instead of 3. The staff were extremely accomodating and helpful allowing her to swap the extra tickets for vouchers for future use. And who wouldn't return to this iconic cinema with its plush seats, killer ice-creams and gentle ambience. Yarraville itself is a real gem,... More

What a charming little venue. We visited on a Tuesday evening and we're pleased it was discount night. $11 tickets.. bonus. The seats are so comfortable for the duration of the film and there is enough leg room that you're not squashed up against the back of the chair in front.

Great restored boutique Art Deco theatre with 8 cinemas for that 'good old going to the movies' experience. Love the lounge style chairs and enjoying the movie with a nice glass of wine too.

The Sun Theatre is a beautiful old cinema in the heart of Yarraville. It has comfortable spacious chairs and you're allowed to take in a beer or wine to enjoy with your movie. Cut price tickets are on sale on Mondays and Tuesdays and it is generally showing the newest releases as well as a few ArtHouse movies or classics.... More

This is about going to the cinema with character. The facility has been transformed many years ago from being a derelict building to what is now a very comfortable cinema but at the same time preserving many of the traditional comforts such as large leather seats. The whole experience is so much better than the modern "shopping mall" cinema experience.... More

Nothing beats the Sun! That's all there is to it. The only place to go to the cinema in the west. Please don't ever change.

What a beautiful job has been done on this theatre to restore it to its former glory. Enjoying the building and the ambience and the comfy leather couches will enhance even the most ordinary movie

Absolutely love the Sun Theatre! It was built in 1938 and has been preserved in a way that retains the original charm. The multiple cinemas are intimate and have great comfortable seats with plenty of leg room. You can buy beer, wine and a range of other foods at reasonable prices. Everything about the place feels more like a night... More
