Nothing beats the Sun! That's all there is to it. The only place to go to the cinema in the west. Please don't ever change.

What a beautiful job has been done on this theatre to restore it to its former glory. Enjoying the building and the ambience and the comfy leather couches will enhance even the most ordinary movie

Absolutely love the Sun Theatre! It was built in 1938 and has been preserved in a way that retains the original charm. The multiple cinemas are intimate and have great comfortable seats with plenty of leg room. You can buy beer, wine and a range of other foods at reasonable prices. Everything about the place feels more like a night... More

This place may not be but certainly should be popular with Tourists to see a beautiful venue and they also to experience a wonderful urban area that Yarraville offers. A great local vibe...and easy to get to by train from the city.

If movie going is about the experience - the Sun is the the place to go. The Yarraville village atmosphere seems to drift seamlessly into the theatre complex even enhancing the old world charm of the building. The added bonus is the locale's fine cafes and restaurants.

Another little beauty in gorgeous Yarraville - the Sun Theatre. We saw a movie in the smallest of eight theatres, with leather couches/chairs. So comfy, I struggled to keep awake a few times during the session. Current and old movies are shown concurrently in one of the rooms. And, good value choice of refreshments at the kiosk. I"ll be back!

Beautiful cinema with great prices but customer service is rude and extremely poor. Very chaotic waiting for movies, queues are long, confusing and due to all the noise cannot hear staff directions. Hence waited for 20 mins in line when we finally reached the front was told to join the other extremely long line which would ensure that we would... More

Always a great old fashioned theatre with great sound systems and seats. A very friendly place to be. Very easy to get to and well priced for the budgeting traveller. Half price days as well. Even unplanned Hollywood greats have arrived unannounced just before screenings.

Well, what can I say? We LOVE the Sun Theatre. The staff were very helpful, friendly and efficient. The coffee was great, the snacks reasonably priced as well. The décor is beautiful, you could spend your time admiring the architecture, never mind the movies! Beautiful Art Deco surrounds you, leading you to think you might just catch a glance of... More
