This welcome has wonderful staff who are very helpful. The entire complex is bright and airy. There are numerous restaurants, gift shops, picnic areas, and a light house.
It is a great place to stop after you have crossed the bridge.

As soon as you get off the bridge it's the perfect place to stop before hitting the road. The bathrooms are clean and the information center is full of lots of great information and helpful friendly staff. There are lots of little shops and you can find lots of fun things

In addition to Info Center, there are shops and a quick 15 minute video that repeats explaining the construction of the 8.8 mile bridge connecting PEI to the Mainland. Very informative

This info centre is at the Gateway Village in Borden-Carleton, not far from the Confederation Bridge. We stopped here as part of a tour from our cruise ship, which was docked in Charlottetown.
The info centre itself is like any other information centre. The rest of the Gateway Village includes several eating places and souvenir shops. It is obviously a tourist trap for tour buses to stop at! Appeared run down, with a lot of junk in the shops. We had time to kill so wandered through the shops, but certainly didn't buy anything at the Gateway Village.

We stopped in as we got off the Confederation Bridge and that staff were amazing. They offered us up several maps and gave us some very good tips of places to check out while we were on PEI. We were wanting to collect some beach glass along the way and the one girl gave us lots of pointers as to where to go. The gift shop that is attached has a very large variety of souvenirs to choose from and at very reasonable prices.

If you are a newby in PEI, don't miss this stop. The folks at the Info Centre helped us navigate the island, and even drew routes on our map to help us find places that were GPS-hostile. We could not have made this trip a success without their help

We have received your visitors package regularly each year and 2015 was no exception. Instead of stopping by this time we chose to phone for information from our rental cottage. Finding your phone number was a challenge - eventually discovered it was buried on page 133 of the guide. The information you provided was inaccurate. The restaurant we enquired about was in fact closed - not open until 9 pm as stated by you, so a wasted journey. Also - having tried for hours to contact you and then be told that you didn't have time to speak to me as you had a line of people waiting, was not the kind of service I have experienced from Tourism PEI in the past. I was shocked. Our call to the central help line was returned the following day. Not good enough really. Disappointed is an understatement - not sure if we will be back.

This visitor center has lots of information. Free maps and free service. If visiting the island for the first time, this is suggested.
