Amazing what the human mind can conjure. This rock is so famous that is a on the list for most longboats. If you look at it long enough you may just agree with the description. Gives another meaning to Nandos!
We had short d=stop at the base of the rock to snorkel. There was no getting on to the island. he snorkeling was ok nothing to get too excited about and the water was deep with low visibility.
Guess what we got our selfies at least.

Good if you want to snorkel, but otherwise nothing much to do. I did not know swimming so I stayed inside the boat doing nothing. I think it would have been good that instead of this island, the tour had put another island to visit.
Worth a photograph, maybe !!!

We did several boat excursions to the the lslands, seven and four, including Ko Phi Phi. I suggest going to Chicken Island, it is one of the four island tour. All close by, have a small beach and satisfying snorkeling. Take a tour if you like groups, or rent a private long tail boat.

You are bound to see this rock formation of you head out on almost any island hopping tour in the area. I guess it is up to you to decide if it looks like a chicken or not but it is a well known landmark.
I had some fairly good snorkeling there too. It is worth seeing but I would not recommend it as a single visit but rather as a short stop on the way to other islands.

We stopped on the island to eat our picnic. Lovely sand beach, with some shade and not too busy. However a monkey approached another couple also having a picnic, stole their bottle of coke and started drinking it!
Access to the beach can be a little tricky due to a lot of rocks at the shoreline, but it is worth the effort.

This small and emblematic island, is in the middle of a small archipelago, well visible from the beach of Ao Nang, where there are always long tails waiting for tourists to do the tour, is reached in 20 minutes from the beach, and is used to Visit the other islands that are next to each other

The 4 island tour was a good one, not too long but long enough to soak up the environment and beauty of the islands

You’ll never see a rock formation like this anywhere. About an hour, by boat, from Krabbe. It was part of the 4 island tour. We don’t snorkel here but the boat man took us to this side for the obligatory photo op. Very cool

We arrived around 09.00 before the larger boat trips arrived. It was very quiet and relaxed. Facilities are very limited on the island. Lovely white sand and shade at the back of the beach. Swimming was so much better than at Ao Nang - green sea with no hint of silt. Check your tide times before going - at low tide you can walk along the sandbank to Tup Island - a delightful thing to do. It is best to have some waterproof shoes for this since it is a little rocky. Don’t forget your 400Baht for the day permit for the National Park islands in this area.

Chicken Island had beautiful beaches with fine white sea. We had the opportunity to go swimming ,snorkeling and relaxing on the beach in the shade of the swaying palm-trees and enjoyed the sun.. This area was a scuba-diver’s heaven with a wide variety of multi-

Hi, I am planning for a trip to Thailand in November . I am confused about 4/7 island. Please let me know
1. Which trip is better - 4 island or 7 island sunset tour?
2. Timings of both tour.
3. We are 2 person. We have no problem with sharing with 4-6 people. What will be approx cost for a trip to 4/7 island tour in a long tail boat sharing basis?
4. From where I can book for that? Which will be cheaper? Please share if anyone has any reliable agent's contact details.
5. Lunch menu's
6. 400 thb pay to national park is mandatory? (we will not do any kind of water activities like snorkeling, swimming etc)

OK I recommend Chicken head island if you need lots of fish with clear water. But if you need general beach atmosphere, Poda is the one. If you are two , then only choice is to join the group unless you are not cost conscious. Pls see this for further detail including other tips on Krabi. Thank you!
