    Average but good.
The beach itself is fairly average. It has its pros and cons and I think you can read about them in all reviews here. Yes the longtail boats are noisy and especially in the morning when they are leaving for taking people to the other beaches or islands. There is a constant sound from the engines. In the afternoon it starts again when the people comes back. But in between it is nice and calm. At the far end, near the Monkey Trail, you can rent sunbeds at the C2 Beach Club. There you can also use bathrooms or take a fresh water shower. No sunbeds are allowed on the beach though. All in all a good spot to hang out since you have a couple of bars, juice stands and massage places in the direct vincinity. In the afternoon it is also a place where many gathers to watch the sunset.

    Scenic and happening beachside
Beautiful blue water, white sand and quite neighbourhood makes it perfect beach gateway. Morning aerobic activities and evening music and fire shows are added delight. A variety of eateries and souvenir shops alongside. Must bargain and it’s up by 2-3 times. Compare whether you buy items or take tour packages. The behaviour of the shopkeepers was not much friendly on our day. Despite heavy rains most of them were telling customers to either buy or go out. The only downside of our pleasant experience

    ao nang beach you beauty.
i have visited thailand on many occasion over the last 20 years. and it strange that every time i have been in thailand i have always wanted to visit krabi, but never got the opportunity. On this occasion, it was my prime mission, my partner and myself loved the place.as we are a bit older now, and are not driven by water sports or beautiful thai women . it was such a pleasure to walk along, the clean ao nang beach, with a view of the whole of the cove without obstruction.IF your thinking rave on, then krabi isn't for you. it's no phuket or pattaya. it has a laid back feel to the place.and a different approach to eating styles. it has a night market that has heaps of different foods, you buy what you like, and take it to a central area that has maybe 100/ 150 table and chairs, in front of a giant stage with entertainment. drinks are served quickly to your table. you can have a reel good feed. and it's cheap as chips, the drinks are no dearer than anywhere else in krabi. when finished you deposit your dinning tray in the recycling bins provided. first impressions krabi is really clean and tidy, the locals obviously have their environment at heart. the sunsets are stunning, sit at the reggae bar have a few tubes( bliss), watching the 10 or so longtail boat arriving back from sightseeing tours.there are the usual (i'll call restaurant)you know the sprocker standing out side with the menu, but they are not in number.krabi has it shady side, but its not in your face. the traditional thai boxing truck that comes around blaring fights TONIGHT. comes maybe two or three times a day but reasonably quiet. the boat jetty at the far end of the cove, has connections to phuket/ phi phi islands that take approx 1 .5 hours to phi phi and to phuket 6.5 hours that's by ferry. speedboat to phuket just under 2 hours. a visit to wat tham suea temple was worth it, if you want to go to the peak that's 1200 steps up and then 1200 down. the other must do is visit the elephant sanctuary.we did it with another couple as a private tour, it was worth the dollars we paid . rather that a tour group.we had an hour by the waterfall washing and feeding the elephants, this experience was to die for. so in general we loved krabi.great for families and couples i would say not so much for the young bucks.

Gets busy a good beach to spend some time
We spent two weeks in Ao Nang, from 13th to 27th January, our accommodation was just a short walk from this beach. The beach with it's golden sand, washed by the Andaman Sea, stretches two kilometres along the coast. It has the Monkey Trail at one end and Noparathara Beach at the other. Like all other beaches there are no sunbeds or umbrellas, the only shade is provided by the trees along the back of the beach. So these are premium spots. We did spend several hours on the beach, with our beach mats spread out, on a number of days during our holiday. We preferred the end towards the Monkey Trail, we thought it was quieter The beach is a hive of activity with long-tailed boats constantly arriving on or departing from here. The is a constant drone of their engines as they transport visitors down the coast to Railay or out to sea on trips to and around the islands. We took a long-tailed boat from here down to Railay on two occasions. The ticket office for the long-tailed boat trips and tours is on the beachfront. A pedestrianised promenade runs the length of the beach with a main street running alongside it. The street is lined with restaurants, bars, cafes, souvenir shop and so much more. While walking along the promenade there are a couple of interesting sculptures to keep an eye out for, Sailfish Sculpture and the Sculpture of Andaman. Towards the Monkey Trail end of the beach there are the only restaurants overlooking the beach, The Last Fisherman and The C2 Beach Club. The Beach Club also rented out sunbeds. In between the two restaurants were some market like stalls, selling food, drinks and offering massages, they also hired out sunbeds. Considering the amount of rubbish, drinks cans/cartons, food containers that get dumped on the promenade, for collection, the beach is remarkablely clean. The whole area is a hive of activity both by day and night.

    Summer trip in Krabi, Thailand
My first trip to krabi is in March 2024. Everything is very interesting especially people around here, they are very nice and there are lots of tourists here. I went to night market and tried some crocodile grilled, the price of foods is not too expensive. One of my friends wanna try some durian, we walked through to find it and it sold at the back side of the market. One piece is around 90-150฿ and we bought one. My friend started eating; he said “it’s very stinky.” While his lil brother was continue eating. That’s very funny. We’re really enjoyed that moment. The Following day, we went to 4 islands by Sanya tour, the guide is very nice; she introduced us about sightseeing point and one of my favorite islands is Poda Island. My hostel is TanxHostel&café. The location of the hostel is quite easy to find. The vibe here is good and the receptionist orange cat on the 2nd is very friendly. But the hostel is opposite to the bar, it might make some noise. Besides, there are many restaurants around this area. It also has the grocery 7-11 shop nears the hostel less than 100 maters. Waking straight to aonang beach is around 15-20 mins. All are great! I hope this helps you to take the decision on this high season easier!

The beach is very long, and i would suggest to go till the end( turn from main road to left) so there is wont be much boats, place has a nice view and shadow from trees.
Also i would highly recommend the massage on the beach, with coconut milk and facial treatment with cucumber.
There is few stages, so better try stage under number 9, people there was really kind and provided me with fruits, water and carpet for the beach. The masaage itself was really good and cost me around 250THB for 1 hour.

Depends what you are coming here for.

There are lots of tourists on this beach and gets pretty full, it reminds you of a beach in Spain.

As through transportation to places, you will hear lots of boats with there loud engines in and out of the area.

Also if you get hungry you have local foods and all the standard western places like McDonald’s which is quite expensive.

If you would like a nice alternative I’d recommend railay beach, which is in another area but is not too be missed !

This beach is very popular and very noisy. Long tail boats come and go from this destination approx. every 5 mins or so and they create quite a noise. There are also four sewer outlets along this beach that run directly into the sea and the smell is atrocious. The sand itself is nice, there are lots of nice restaurants and massage places along the strip to go to but the smell and noise was just too overpowering for me. If you want a quieter experience with lovely sand and nice calm(er) waters, I would recommend you head up to Noppathara Beach just over the bridge.

Very beautiful view from the street level. Super touristy - "Tourist Information" counters selling tour tickets, ATM machines, restaurants, souvenir shops selling many items at THB 100 in abundance. Many tourists seen bathing in the sea, lie down at the beach and took excursions with the long tail boat. We stay at Sofitel Krabi, so took hotel shuttle at THB 100/pax/way, and spent 1 hour was enough. Just bought some fridge magnets, otherwise, nothing special to hang around here.

Just spent a week in Ao Nang, enjoying the 2 beautiful beaches where the views are stunning. Lovely people, very warm and sincere, good selection of bars and restaurants, an all round good experience. I've read that the Ao Nang beach is loud and possibly too busy. All I can say to that is that the noise of the long tail boats plying their trade is no more intrusive than the waves hitting the shore or the sound of a cold Chang being poured into your glass!, And, if it is too busy/noisy, the other beach, Nopparat Thara, is almost empty and equally as nice. Another complaint I had read was that the touts along the pavement are bothersome. All you have to say is "No thanks", smile and walk on. And, I met one named Benod Kuma, at the Moti Mabal restaurant, who could make the most miserable person smile and did so regularly. Worth a visit just to see him in action. Plus the food at the restaurant is very pleasant too. No complaints from me regarding anything at Ao Nang and certainly intend returning next year.

Nice beach with tree shade.
Swimming areas are roped off and ample. No lifeguards.
Good soft sand.

Can get crowded.

Nice sunset views.

Bring a mat (or buy one for about 100 baht)

Long tail boats to Railay beach and other islands keep the noise level high.

At the one side of beach they are letting all of waste water into the sea and it stink alot. On the other way the beach is full of overpriced longtail boats controled by companies where is almost imposible to get private boat for fair price. Overall one of worst beach we visited on Thailand + on every 2 meters u are getting stalked to get massage.
We liked Phuket(beaches) way more then we did Krabi

We have been coming here for nearly 20 years.
it's a great beach and a lovely chill out.
Go to the shop to get a beer or a soft drink, the prices are much cheaper there.
the stalls across from the beach treat foreign tourists as cash cows and think they can charge you crazy prices for coke or water.
all the normal benidorm style chavvy english and western tourists now come here and have ruined it.
we said our goodbyes and we won't be back, but it was great until the normal invaded and ruined it.

Glad we choose Aonang from Krabi town. It’s fairly quiet, beach is nice and clean, not a big town so everywhere is walkable. If you want to take the long tail boats to Railay, you have to buy thetix from Aonang

AoNang lives up to it's reputation. This beach is really amazing and beautiful. Not to be missed if you are in krabi. Stunning view and life to be experienced here. The joy in the air is very relaxing and one should just sit and enjoy the view. The beach market is an interesting one full of life and shopping options but if you are planning to visit Krabi Town, then skip buying from here as it is bit expensive than Krabi Town Market.
