place where you heard but never expected!!!
Jan 2020
busy place but lively
the price for souvenirs are pricier than krabi night market that is for sure
the tour agent surrounding the area can give a lot cheaper price for the tour if you can bargain nicely
food there are a lot,
although quite disappointing the tom yum there was not as good as bangkok/hatyai....

but best place for massage, "hot girl", and scenery

Average Shopping Experience
Nov 2019
The shopping experience was average and comparative to Night Markets of equal size in other cities in Thailand. Since there are not a large number of vendors selling the same items, the prices, even after negotiating, are just average. Example, 3 pairs of socks for 100 baht here, compared to 7 pairs of socks at large night markets (example Sunday Night Market in Chiang Mai or Weekend Market in Bangkok).

Negotiating Strategy 101:
If you are purchasing for a holiday or event and want to purchase a quantity of an item, you have more leverage when negotiating. For example, I negotiated a better price for 5 shirts compared to the price of one (with Christmas around the corner).

Positives: Most of the market is covered (avoid the rain, hot days, etc.).

See everything in about 30 minutes.

Not the most authentic Thai shopping experience
Nov 2019 • Couples
Lots of expensive tourist shops, 2 MacDonald’s and 2 Burger King so I was not expecting much from this. It’s Ok, much better restaurants, shops and massages away from this street to be honest. Worth a walk along at night as the atmosphere is great, really buzzing

Tourist trap
Nov 2019 • Couples
Not a very peaceful place. It has mainly restaurants (80% of which are Indian which you don't expect but they are all identical), souvenir shops, massage places and bars. Every 5 meters you will be harassed by someone trying to get your custom. Becomes very annoying fast. Many souvenir shops try to rip off tourists by charging extortionate prices. Overall it is a over-developed, tacky tourist magnet.

So so shopping
Jun 2019 • Couples
In all probability just to replicate other popular walking streets in Bangkok , Pattaya, Phuket one came up in Ao Nang closer to Krabi . Starts post 6 pm and is on until 11 pm . Basic shopping , a couple of massage Centres and a sprinkle of lady boy cabaret shows with loads of eateries and some pubs and a few centres selling u local tours , money exchange counters , bikes on hire , trips to dive spots etc., . Not bad to spend a evening or two strolling along with whatever from above that excites you .

Here is a lot of souvenirs from Krabi, such as a bunch of shells, T-shirts screened Krabi. There are many food items, both savory and dessert. The best food of me is grilled squid because delicious dipping sauce.it has lovely environment and the food cheap than in front of restaurant on the beach. I like this place so I would like to recommend that everyone go on a trip and will fall in love like me.

Nice and Busy, Full of Life, Markets and Food
Jan 2019
We stayed in Railay Beach (a 4minute journey by longtail boat to get here) & we almost wish we stayed in Ao Nang within two minutes of arriving.. It has a lovely atmosphere, markets, tones of retaurents, cheaper than Railay Beach, beautiful sunsets. I'd say this is a lovely place for anyone, especially solo-traveler & families
