Excellent cruise from start to finish ,great crew friendly professional. Hadn’t snorkelled in years and not a strong swimmer no worries on this trip after instruction , life jacket I was flying it! Relaxed trip not overcrowded like other boats we saw, as a solo...More
Brilliant way to see the islands around Ao Nang and Railay. Michael and his crew are welcoming you with fresh coffee and chocolate croissants and cereals. This is followed by excellent snorkeling. The numbers and colours of the tropical fish are amazing. This really is...More
The trip was very enjoyable, safe and professional throughout. The food was great and drinks were plenty and cold. The staff is very friendly and willing to help and/or talk about anything. Sin, a local thai diver on their crew taught me to free dive...More
I was travelling with my husband to Krabi for 3 days and decided to take this tour on our last day in Krabi, though a little pricey, the tour was worth every penny we paid for and even more. My husband being an adventure junkie...More
I booked the breakfast cruise, but Michael emailed to let me know that there weren't enough people for it and offered me the sunset one instead. He picked me and a few other guests up at West Railay Beach, where we boarded a longtail boat...More
I love the experience with Krabi Sunset Cruise this November. You can paddling, kayaking and snorkelling with many beautiful stops during the trip. We are quite a little bit sad with the last stop of plankton swimming. The boat could not stop in the very...More
Do yourself a favour and don't be cheap. If you want a crappy island tour with possibility to be ripped off then go pay 1200-2000 Baht with a random tour or street tour that has bad reviews. This is the exact opposite. You pay a...More

The weather was great that day and when we stopped for the sunset we took the stand up paddle boards...More
Has anyone gone on a sunset boat trip either from aonang or railay beach. I know about the highly recommended Krabi Sunset Cruises, but I'm talking about something simple. Just renting a boat for an hour to be on the water during the sunset. Is it a good idea? Thanks

Best snorkelling operator/trip from Ao Nang? (2 Replies)
We're staying in Ao Nang in July and will probably do a few longtail trips to Tup, Chicken Island etc. We're after a good snorkelling trip with a great crew to take our two kids (7, 12) on - any operator recommendations? We had looked at Krabi Sunset Cruises, but they are shut over this time. We are in Phi Phi for 3 days prior so not looking for a day trip there. Thanks!

The best snorkeling operators are always the dive operators. They have professionally trained staff on board, inclusive training in emergency first response. This is not the case for ordinary tour operators and longtail boat drivers. Since you go in July, you have to see on the spot what is available for the day due to the weather conditions and possible rough sea.

I'll just answer (b) & (e) (B)- you might want to consider Hong Islands tour by speedboat. You will get to visit 3 beaches and visit Hong lagoon. Spend more time on the beaches. About 45min to relax and snorkel. Spoke with the local guide who said the phi phi island tours are quite rushed. About 7 stops so you will move off after about 30min per stop. (E) - you could try Kayaking in the mangroves at Ao Thalene. Nice lagoons that you go into and you can take spectacular shots there...More
