Must visit place. Beautiful and heavenly. Leave early if you can afford a private boat or travelling in a large group to enjoy to the fullest.

Nice sand. Easy access to deeper water with much less stones an corals like on other islands. You can find a relatively private space. Basic, very limited food services.

As the heading states, its nothing shy of that. We were lucky enough to watch a bollywood movie being shot there. Make sure to take your own snacks, the small "shop" on this island is stupidly expensive and almost triple the price for anything

Too many people for that island with too many boats in the beach and people eating, leaving a lot of litter in the sand.

Lovely island. Great snorkeling - even seen Nemo fish!!! Must do if you are in Ao Nang! But dont do it as part of 4 island tour! Waste of money. Go there for the whole day as it is worth it! We went with the...More

Maybe was too crowded when we were there but for a short stop is perfect or for a one day visit with a familiy. Best thing is that it has a lot of shadow that you dont have to be in the sun.

For a day trip on a shared longtail, you must agree with the people on your boat what time you want to be picked up. Too bad if you only want to stay for a few hours and the random tourists on your boat want...More

This is a island within the National Parks, and there is military personnel onsite to take care of the island and the visitors. Have been here before, but had learned my lesson 😊 chartered a longtail from Ao Nang Pier and went out early in...More

Sure, You can buy just a ticket to Poda and back at Ao nang beach. It costs 300baht plus you have to pay 400baht/pp. at arrival to Poda, because it is part of national park. It is better to buy some drinks and food at Ao... More

If you go on the 4 island tour you don’t get very long on each island and you will arrive with the crowds. We went to the islands separately and got to settle down and enjoy them for a few hours at a time. From around 2pm... More

Krabi island tours (2 Replies)
With 3 weeks to go before me and my wife arrive in Thailand for the first time...i want to ask what island tours would anyone suggest and with which good tour operator. We will be in Phuket and will travel to Krabi at the Sofitel Hotel for 4 nights and have looked at a 4 island tour ...visiting Tup Island, Poda Island,Phang Nga Bay etc.. We want to make the most of our short stay there but with so much to see... Any suggestions and advise is sooo welcomed! Thanks Jimmy

Simba or Phuket Sail Tours are reputable and highly recommended here on TA - a bit more expensive, but don't cram in hordes of people and safety is their first concern.

4 island tour or Hong island tour is better? (5 Replies)
Hi friends, we are going to Krabi 0n 16-18 Sep (yes only 3 days) and on 18 we have to go back early cos it is a morning flight. Hence we only have a chance to have 1 day for the tour. I read through internet that usually the tour option is either 4 island tour or Hong island only. Hence need your help to decide which one is better? I read reviews saying that only Poda island is nice in 4 island tour, maybe is it possible to just visit Hong island in the morning then just Poda island...More

The tours are subject to weather conditions and rough sea. The tide changes Sep 16-18 are not much from low to high. Only about 40-50 cm and on Sep 17 lowest during the lunch hours.

Best phuket to Krabi day tour + Transportation options? (7 Replies)
Can anybody recommend which tour group does the best day trip from Phuket (we'll be located around Patong Beach but I guess all tours have hotel pickup) to Krabi. Seems like the standard is see Phra Nang Cave, Railay Beach, Chicken Island, Tub Island, Poda Island 3 / 5 days in Phuket will be island hopping. 1 for phang nga bay 1 for phi phi 1 for krabi islands mentioned in this post other 2 days will be on Phuket island itself which I'm thinking will be DIY. What's the best way to...More

Hi, There are so many tour agents in Phuket, try your hotel first then get some prices from the many tour agents/booths around, there are 100's. Don't go for the cheapest and Google search for reviews after you get prices. This is the best way to make a desision as there are so many to choose from. Once you pick an operator shop the price they all work on commission and will drop the price to get a sale. Best company I have dealt with is Phuket sail tours, they have many options on different...More
