From my observation, the 2 most popular and value-for-money massage spas in Aonang beach must be Aonang Haven (AH) and Let's Sea : Let's Relax (LSLR). For my money, the latter has taken over as my current favourite.

Like last year, I ensured I visited both establishments for a fairer comparison this time round as well. A year on, LSLR may have become more popular based on anecdotal evidence - I'd more problems getting my choice slots here than AH. And I only need to make a 500 bht deposit it here as opposed to full fare there upon reservation.

Experience-wise, some differences:
- Your feet are washed with a proper scrub and rinse. At AH, you are given wet-wipes and foot scrub costs extra. Score : 1-0
-The masseurs conversed with each other and their mobile phones were busy during all our sessions. Silence is more strictly-enforced at AH. And appreciated. Score : 1-1
-Body scrub and massage is performed in a room with ensuite shower. Privacy as compared to AH where you have to walk down the corridor to the bathroom with your body wrapped in towel and hope no other guests suddenly pop out of nowhere. And no hot shower. Brrrr.. Score : 2-1

Personally, I also feel there's very little separating the massage skills of their masseurs between them. It may have something to do with both also using freelancers. How do I know? Well, I was served by this masseur at AH in the morning and she served my wife at LSLR in the evening. It's easy to differentiate them from the in-house masseurs - they are not in matching uniforms. Of course, I couldn't care less as long as they do their jobs.

Out of the two most recommended spas we just visited this one, as we only had a day to spare. Although we cant compare, we dont regret. It was amazing. Me and my wife had 3 hours of spa and it was all at a very reasonable price.

Such a lovely place. The welcome drink and cold towel are a great start to a brilliant massage. The staff are excellent and the venue is cool, relaxed and very welcoming. Best one I've tried so far in AoNang.

Masseur Rap is the best. She has the strength and really helped me alot with my shoulder massage. Two days consecutively she massaged me. Price 150baht for 3 hours is reasonable.

This place was just across the street from my hotel and I had read some good reviews on TA about it.
We had the Thai massage which was pricier than all the other shops along the same street ( 300baht per hour instead of 200). All these massage places with good reviews on TA don't have touts on the street and are charging more due to the good reviews; unlike the other ones.
Service was polite and deferential but we were not asked if the pressure was alright.

The place was clean and the staff polite. You get a cold juice before the massage and a foot wash and scrub before starting and a private room to change into the loose Thai pyjamas for the massage.
However, the massage took place in a very small concrete room that reminded me of the "Hanoi Hilton" (American POW camp).. Along one side of this small room was a row of arm chairs for foot massages and on the other side facing these chairs was a raised concrete platform divided into four massage areas by a few bamboo poles. NO curtains for privacy (which even the cheap joints provide as a matter of course). You get your massage in direct and full view of the people having their foot massages. Who are less than a meter away. Every sniffle and cough (and there were plenty) reverberates around the whole room. You get the feeling you may be sharing germs!
One of our masseuses was sniffing away, obviously having a cold, To their credit, she was wearing a surgical mask.
After our massage, we were told to go to another raised bare little concrete room with a very low ceiling, in a corner of this massage room to change our clothes. This really felt like a prison cell.
There was some hot tea served just before payment at the end.
Although the massage was nothing to complain about, it wasn't particularly good, I don't think I would try this place again because the atmosphere felt so strange, not like a spa at all.

We both got a wonderful 2 hour massage. The coconut oil massage was great as the room filled with the smell of toasted coconuts. Very very pleasant.

The description for the full-body Thai massage described it as "pleasurable and relaxing." Which after what I went through, was a straight up lie. Lol.

We arrived right after they were open since the masseuses were still arriving and settling in. We looked through the different packages and I went "off-menu" with the hour-long Thai massage + half-hour reflexology, whereas the boyfriend chose the hour-long back/shoulder massage with oil, and the half-hour reflexology.

I'd always subscribed to the mantra of no-pain, no-gain when it came to my approach of Eastern practices or beauty regiment (facial extractions anyone...?), but the level of pain during my entire massage was out-of-this-world. The masseuse seemed increasingly frustrated and told me my body was "tough," and that I wasn't relaxing. The latter might be true, but I couldn't see how one could relax when another person is stepping on every part of you, and bending your appendages in ways you never dreamed was possible. At some point I found myself doing what can only be described as reverse yoga, with her laying on top of me. She seemed determined to iron out every wrinkle, kink, blockage, muscle, cell, and organ I had... and to do so with maximum strength. She asked me if the pressure was ok 20 minutes in, by which point I'd already thrown in the towel and decided I was giving my body up for the greater good that I will wake up a new woman the next day. I yelped a few times during reflexology, which was no less painful... especially when she used some kind of utensil to push on the acupressure points on the bottom of my feet. Holy heck I'm surprised I didn't black out.

In the end, I do feel like I got MORE than my money's worth. As for pleasurable and relaxing, it may be for people who don't have any muscles or kinks to work out, hahaha. Call me masochistic, but I would do it again!

The receptionist was very friendly and provided informative tips. As we just got back from an island-tour during the day, our skin was utterly "fried" aka sun burnt. She told us if our skin feels prickly and pain even by touching it, it was best to not go for the Traditional Thai Massage and/or Aromatherapy Massage. Instead, she recommended us to try the Aloe Vera for Sun Burn massage with Pure Aloe Vera (this was priced at THB700 for a 60-minute session).

The receptionist also shared with us that evening till night are the busiest period of the day. If we wish to have some privacy during our massage session, it was best to come in the morning where the crowd is lesser; presumably because most tourists would be out island-hopping etc.

The masseuse was firm with her strokes and she even asked if it was okay to have Aloe Vera gel on my face before putting it on my face. Also, she was gentle at our terribly sun-burnt shoulders. For full body massage, they do provide underwears for both men and ladies (different types). The cotton material of the underwear is so comfy!

Also, they open @ 10AM and their last appointment for the day is at 9PM!

Location: They were located conveniently opposite our hotel, Ao Nang Cliff Beach Resort. You will see a 7 Eleven and Starbucks across Atta Rak.

BTW, this place is known as Atta Rak in Ao Nang. "Let's Sea, Let's Relax" is somewhat a tagline. :)

Would definitely make a return visit when I am back in Ao Nang, Krabi!

After trying the beach and hotel massages- really wanted a good clean spa experience. I read the reviews in TA and this seemed to me to have what i wanted in a spa/massage center. The others were either to far away, or reviewers had made comments that showed me it was not what i wanted.

Boy, was i glad I went here!!!! People-- trust me, trust the other reviewers, this is the best massage/spa in the Ao Nang area and probably one of the best in southern Thailand!!! Reasonable, not cheap, price for a very good relaxing experience.

We had a 3 hour spa experience; I had 2 hour full body aromatic and 1 hour aromatic. My friend had 2 hour Thai massage (her first) and 1 hour foot/head/shoulder.

I got a private room (because i am so big? or because of the aromatic) while she shared a room for the Thai and private for the aromatic.

Guess what-- you start off with a cold towel and drink (common in a spa package) but you are also offered a shower!!!!!!!! YES!!! after looking for the place for 1/2 hour, i was soaking wet and boy did that feel good. I am to big for the little suits they give you-- but just covered with a towel and ready to go to

HEAVEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My masseuse new exactly what she was doing getting out my kinks and knots but in a gently but firm way. I wish i could put her in my pocket and get a massage from her every day.

No rush at the place; clean, quiet and very good selection of the various massages.

Yes, sterile cement all over; they just need to get someone to paint some nice murals on the walls.

YES, very hard to find-- so see my pictures i think they will help you. Right across from Starbucks and MacDonalds-- in between tourist center-- down the steps-- look for the name. We passed it several times and finally stopped and asked-- glad we did and I am sure you will be glad also. My back hurts-- wish i was there now!
