Easy to book. Really funny and competent teacher. Nice environment. But what we appreciated most was that they would go above and beyond you meet our needs in the allergy department. My boyfriend has gluten intolerance. I’m lactose intolerant. We mentioned it when booking and they had bought all the necessary supplements. Much appreciated

Mac made this experience fun and exciting. With Mac’s guidance we made our favourite dishes which were equal to or better than the restaurants. I would definitely come back and would highly recommend you give it a go. One of the best highlights of our trip. Thanks Mac.

A great cookery class by a very nice teacher, we made alot of very tasty food and the class is a very reasonably priced in comparison to other cooking classes. It was also more personal as there was only me and my girlfriend in the class and it was much more of a 'traditional' thai setting to cook in. The teacher was very nice and spoke very good english. Would highly recommend.

We had a fantastic time. Really nice chef helping us cook, and tasty food. There was a slight hiccup due to a mix up (by them) between the salt and the sugar, so we weren’t able to eat one of the courses, but they made it up to us, and i’m still giving it 5 stars.

We booked this school based on the positive reviews and were not disappointed!

The experience is great!!! Thanks Mac for sharing the experience. For the ones who like cooling, it is very high recommended. I booked in the evening and basically I prepared my Thai dinner by myself. The price is more than worth!!! You use fresh ingredients, Mac (the chef) is great and besides a good cook you can learn more about Thai culture. Great experience!!!!

We had been looking at doing a class for a while and we decided to choose smart cook. It was great. We got picked up straight from our guest house so there was no need to worry about travel. When we arrived you get to select 7 of the many dishes that are on the menu. Even if you select different dishes it's no problem they're able to cater to you. Our teacher had perfect English. Was nice and friendly too and really made it easy to learn. The results too were delicious and we were given a recipe book for when we want to make our dishes at home. A definite must in Krabi

I went to this cooking class a week ago on my own. There were two others that were also on their own as well as a group of 4 from a family that made up our class.

Our group meshed really well together and we became friends very quickly laughing and sharing stories all the while. Mac was our instructor and he was very nice. Additionally he was knowledgeable.

The food was so good, I am not yet home and thus have not been able to try the recipes yet. This will likely prove difficult in N America from an ingredient standpoint.

There were several negatives that should be brought to the attention of the company. FLIES are abundant. Maybe there is some way to capture or kill them...bug zapper, sticky strip, honey water?? My group and I were constantly swatting them away but also got creative about how to shelter and hide our food from them by placing cutting boards over bowls, etc.

Also it was HOT with minimal fans and those fans did not give everyone relief.

We were given a list of options and asked to select 6 dishes. Several options were not available to us (maybe because they didn't have the ingredients to make the dish?) and during our appetizer making we ran out of wraps so we had filling that wasn't wrapped because we ran out. Maybe having all needed ingredients would make this experience better for everyone.

Couldn't say how good or bad the cooking class was because they never showed up at the agreed pickup point. We waited over an hr then headed back to our resort. Very disappointing. Our concierge rang them for an explanation and they said their staff hadn't received their email from the phone booking. Our concierge rang them for a booking on the thurs. The tour was booked for Sunday. Not good enough!

I had a wonderful morning at Smart cook today, I was lucky enough to be the only person in the class (it is rainy season!).
I cooked 7 dishes which I will make again back home but way more importantly I learned the balance of Thai cooking. You can create Thai food with the right balance of salty, sweet, chilli and sour if you know what you are doing - and then you can apply it to anything!
I also did the 'market' trip - the markets were closed so he took me to a little shop with fresh produce, I asked about fruit and he then took me to another small shop. I found it really valuable but I am a bit of a foodie!
I also bought a mortar and pestle from the cooking school - as a souvenir and also as they are great quality and cheap $17 aus! Pretty heavy for my luggage tho!!!
I would recommend this course to anyone - they have had people there who have literally never cooked before but cater for people who are more advanced.
As everyone else says you get to being lunch home, my husband loved all the food but is way more impressed that I can make it at home now! $40 Aussie bucks well spent about the same as one Thai take away in Perth!!!
