Asconi Winery is full of life - it has something for everyone, with rustic accommodation, great food, swimming pools, a children’s play areas and they are about to open a business centre. I had a lesson in how to make Plâcintâ (a typical pasty filled with delicious Brynza cheese) and cooked in a stone oven. The tasting menu included delicious traditional food and 7 amazing wines. The local variety Fetească neagră (black lady) and Fetească albă (white lady) were definitely my favourite and I recommend that you don’t miss them.

I really recommend visiting Asconi for a couple of days when in Moldova. We spent 2 nights there and it was a great getaway. I will be bringing all my visitors! Not only do you get to do a wine tour and tasting of their impressive range, you also get an authentic food experience sitting under the vines. It’s a really charming vibe and very reasonable prices for the setting and experience. It’s a relaxing place to walk around, with the pool to enjoy in summer and plenty of places to sit and soak up Moldovan culture, food and drink. The team there are really hardworking and helpful even when you don’t have the language.

Asconi was an unplanned stop on our driving tour. What a wonderful find. Rohan did our tasting and tour and was awesome. He was great to talk with and very knowledgeable. Wines were delicious and the vibe was perfect.

Be sure and stop at the store. The wines are very well priced

Recently Asconi opened their Sol Negru Restaurant. The second restaurant of the winery. Our experience was horrible. Eggplant salad was expired and had a sour taste. The traditional Zeama had no taste, the tasty thing was anly traditional Placinta.
I would never go for the second time there and I recommend nobody to go there. The manager of the restaurant was nice, offered a 20% discount and a sparkling wine as a gift, but anyway, we remained hungry amd went to eat at another restaurant...

We recently did the tour, tasting, and lunch at Asconi with visitors form the U.S. and Macedonia. Everyone agreed it was a highlight of their trip to Moldova. Andrei is a knowledgeable guide, and there is no shortage of Moldova hospitality. The food and wine were great too!

This is a trip well worth making -only 20 minutes away from Chisinau airport do a great way to start your time in Moldova.

There has been a wine pressing presence here for many years, but in 1996 entrepreneurship took off in an entirely new way - with new ownership, purpose, investment and today the site host 72 purpose built wine fermenting steel built towers, enormous mileage of pipes linking the processes of juice extraction, fermentation, -relaxing, and onwards to final bottling.

99 per cent of this wine is exported! Which tells its own story about the economy of Moldova! It's frozen grape dessert wines quite exceptional. There is an excellent shop to purchase directly from which can also handle shipment. Really excellent tour followed by an informed wine tasting of 4 of the wines on offer - White. Red. Rose, dessert unfortunately the very reasonable sparkling not in the tasting but fine and bright and on the dry side. Very pleasant.

Restaurant alongside to enjoy traditional Moldovan food in a well conceived Moldovan themed restaurant - see that review for the culinary high points!

The winery is part of the Moldovan wine tours - and also accessible by car from the airport. Get yourself a resilient car if hiring as the roads are in a very bad way here and your springs will be put through their paces. Enjoy.

I went their for a short tour with another 3 people.
Unlike Cricova or Milestii Mici, you will not find any wine cellars to go touring, however, the guide will show and explain all the technological process of winemaking as well as some history of the winery.
Almost all the production of this winery is oriented to the export, so only about 5% will be found to be enjoyed in Moldova.
The cherry on the cake is the restaurant - traditional and delicious. The atmosphere in there is like you are having dinner in Casa Mare.
At the time we were there they were building a complex of houses that will be leased as hotel rooms. They all look like traditional moldovan houses. I believe when they open the complex, it will be a total hit!

Customer behavior is very bad. We were banished from the restaurant with a 2-year-old child who was crying to be hungry. Management does not try to solve the conflict, but vice versa, enforces the conflict, appealing to non-professional staff. I do not recommend anyone to visit this locality. You will have terrible behavior towards you, and you will remain unsatisfied like me.
