My family had a great holiday in Sri Lanka, our first! Our driver, Dulan has been wonderful. A very experienced and safe driver, as driving on Sri Lankan road is definitely not for the faint-hearted. Dulan has always been punctual and accommodating to our needs. He even managed to secure a table reservation at the Ministry of Crab through his connections. Weather in January has been great with much sunshine and wind, especially the cool weather in Nuwara Eliya. The only disappointment is that the wifi in the van was not working throughout our trip despite the many attempts to resolve it with SankiLeisure. Had to rely on our own data plan instead. Despite that, we had an enjoyable 4 days in Sri Lanka.

Sri Lanka is a wonderfull country with great people and my trip to this destination was even more beautiful, and definitely stress free, thanks to our amazing local guide and driver Dulan. Not only me, but all my fellow travelers were amazed by the professionalism and support we received during the trip. Always on time, with a genuine smile, positive attitude and accurate information, flexible to change plans, helping with all necessities and unplanned situation (like PCR testing we had to do or hospital visit for one of the passengers). All together, we felt like we had a local friend who was ready to unselfishly show us the beauty of Sri Lanka and at the same time be a great companion and someone to rely on. If you plan your trip to this country, I highly recommend Dulan and company he works for. I’m sure you will have nothing to worry about from the moment you step out of the airport, just to enjoy ;)

This island in the Indian Ocean is a true pearl of Asia that takes your breath away with its natural beauty, rich culture and the hospitality of the local population. Sri Lanka is a destination that has it all - beautiful beaches, lush forests, mountains, national parks, ancient temples and fascinating history. The interior of the island is breathtaking with its lush vegetation and stunning natural beauty. The ancient history of Sri Lanka is reflected in its many temples, castles and older cities. Visiting holy places like Dambulla Temples and Sigiriya Rock is extremely inspiring and spiritually fulfilling.

We just came back from a amazing 9 days trip in Sri Lanka. Our driver Brasad was really kind, friendly and always did his best to satisfy all our demands. We felt really safe. The car was always clean and comfortable. We couldn’t wish for a better service.

We have spent amazing week in Sri Lanka.
Our driver and local tour guide Dulan was so friendly, helpful, kind, positive and always smiling. During one week we have visited lot of different places and everything was perfectly organized.

The best way to explore Sri Lanka is with local guide. We had that luck to have Dulan with us. Highly professional and friendly guy who took us to all beautiful spots of this country. He also introduced us to local culture, food, night life. My advice to all who want to visit Sri Lanka is don't think much or make plans because there is Dulan who will do this for you 🙂 Just relax and take it easy!

WOW! What en extraordinary holiday! My little family and I have had the absolute pleasure of travelling in the “Black Princess” in the incredible care of Dulan. Dulan’s knowledge, advice, assistance, and (most importantly) his care for my two kids, wife and I, has truly been what has made this trip so very special!
Dulan dropped us to our final destination in Hikkaduwa yesterday, and my children are missing him immensely.
In our stretch with Dulan, it wasn’t just about having the greatest tour guide we’ve ever had, but the feeling that we’ve also made a very special friend.

We just had great holiday in Sri Lanka. It is very beautiful country with many hidden gems that we explored thanks to our local guide Dulan. Whatever we needed, any question, any demand he was willing to help providing and arranging for us the best solution. He took good care of us throughout the trip and we spent fantastic time together!
I can’t imagine this trip without Dulan and his great team (another two guys).

TLDR: Do not hire Sanki Leisure as they are dishonest (made to pay for "optional" activity), irresponsible (Sanki rejected urgent phone calls) and rude (Sanki replied saying they are not there to explain everything to us).

We hired a mini van and driver for a 7 day itinerary covering the Northern Unesco sites, Kandy, Nuwara Eliya and Ella in June 2019. Here are the facts:
DISHONEST:
We were told to hire our own shuttle for the segment from Nuwara Eliya to Horton Plains, and that it was not covered in the itinerary cost and was an optional trip. This is absolutely wrong and misleading. A lot of family members and friends, and myself included 5 years ago, have made this trip to Horton Plains National Park. You DO NOT need specialised vehicle to get to the park entrance, no matter what they say, and it is certainly not “optional”. Just last year ago a family member travelled here with Sanki and was not charged this extra fees. Turned out that the mini van assigned to us has low body fittings and the driver was afraid his vehicle might get bumped. I don't think this should be the client's concern? I have confirmed this itinerary weeks ago and no "special fee" was ever mentioned when I paid the fees in full. In the end, we paid an extra 6000 rupees just to make the trip from Nuwara Eliya to Horton Plains.
IRRESPONSIBLE:
Upon hearing about the extra costs, I called up Rakitha, the Sanki tour operator, to understand more. He refused to pick up my calls, always rejecting my calls despite me calling numerous times, saying that it was not convenient to speak, and that we should just communicate via whatsapp. This is the way they handle phone enquiries. He never bothered to call back later, or any other day, just wanting to let the matter slide. Imagine if you had some unforeseen events during your travel, or needed some urgent assistance, you will NOT be able to reach the tour operator.
RUDE:
I have travelled to more than 70 countries and Sanki/Rakhita was undoubtedly the most rude tour operator anywhere, anytime. When I pointed out their dubious dealings, his verbatim text replies read "I am not here to explain you all things", "this is not our 1st time too", and "we have arranged free safari that is we have included, that mean we don't include all of activities whatever you do". In no circumstance did he even try to answer professionally. Is this how a travel agency should reply to clients, with aggression and curtness?
I spend time and effort to write such a long factual review to warn potential clients of their deceitful dealings. I hope this helps you avoid nastiness during your Sri Lanka travels.

I'm being asked to pay Sanki in advance with a credit card via Payoneer, but I am not familiar with this payment method and read mixed reviews of Payoneer online. Did anyone else pay in advance via Payoneer? What was your experience? Thank you.

Since PayPal is not active in Sri Lanka, they use payoneer as a payment gateway. It's safe as far as my self is concern. I have paid thousands of usd via payoneer so far no issue.
