Might as well stop in for a look...

From the restaurant further up the hill you can walk through the first part of the cave with the lookout holes. You then continue walking down 111 stairs to the dugout portion of the cave. There is plenty of lighting all along the walk. I believe you can continue walking to circle back to the lift but I turned around and walked back up the stairs as I wanted to hike up hill afterwards.

Worth A Visit...

Maybe better in warmer months, the caves behind the Bastille that sits above the city of Grenoble are interesting but, er, damp.

We made our way across some muddy terrain to explore but were largely unimpressed by the series of caves dotted across the landscape.

Worth a look but maybe just for 10 minutes or so, I guess we wouldn’t have got quite so wet from the drips if we’d put our hoods up..
