I felt like a kid again, clambering all over the substantial ruins. There's a lot more to this place than what one sees from afar - well worth the climb!

If you're feeling energetic it's worth climbing to the top. It's not a difficult climb per se, but wear decent trainers as it's a little tricky underfoot if you're a proper townie like me. There's not much to see of the chateau at the top,...More

Both the castle and the views are impressive. You can imagine how people used to live here, with chambers and windows in perfect state of conservation. The entrance is free.

It looks rather like a fortress and although it seems quite well preserved and maintained, when we went up the hill to visit it, we were the only living creatures. Nice if you want to take a picture, but nothing special though.

A fine morning 30 minute walk. Stepping through old Chateau paths and reaching a summit with views of the river in all directions. The old ruins remind one of life long ago. Funny to see the dozens of donkeys enjoying the area as well.

My only disappointment with this visit was I couldn't go back in time! Amazing vista. Wonderful site. You can imagine it once thriving in its day. If you fancy a donkey ride, the place to go is here! We took a bottle of red and...More

Brilliant panoramic views over Valence and vallee du Rhone. A great historical medieval castle overlooking St Peray and Guilherand-Granges. Walking to the top keeps you fit, but it is worth it.
