Way to Osmena for example from Moalboal (about 2 hours with motorbike). The hike is very short. I hiked up by 15 minutes, but i walked quite fast. If there is goof visibility you will have stunning view. If you want to climb it you have to pay fee, but this fee is ridiculous.

I will say this, if you’re going to go to Osmeña Peak, go just before sunset and bring a small picnic or food with you so that you can stay and enjoy the sunset views. It’s a far drive and the way up is quite bumpy. The hike itself it only about 15-20 minutes and the guide I had was lovely!! I’d definitely visit again, but this time I’d be prepared and make sure it was worth the long drive!!!

Osmeña Peak was a great place and have such amazing view I have Cool ride to this location, calming scene on the road as well. Fun and quick hiking. Additionally, the vista from the top is stunning. It is best to visit there right at sunrise or sunset to get the best images to remember the experience.

This is a really good location for watching sunset with your romantic partner. I got engaged here and became so memorable place to us. It was a long motorbike ride tho from our Moalboal (where we stayed at), I guess 2 hrs of motorbike ride. Got there at around 5pm, waited for the sunset. Didn’t expect it to be cold 😅 So I was shivering, bring your jackets then.
It is safe going up, just be careful about where you’re stepping on. There’s a building and staff at the foot/entrance of the peak.

After almost an hour bike ride from Badian, where we stayed, the bum hurts a bit. After parking the bikes road side, a steepish but not at all strenuous 30 min hike, climbing to the top, the views all over the island are more than rewarding. Many young and even older Filipino folks were climbing and hiking the peak, too, which is THE landmark of southern Cebu Island. It was an amazing experience, which I would do again and again, next time in Cebu. It is also a great activity for those who are based in Moalboal.

I got into a near-fatal motorbike accident last July (this year 2024) going to Osmena Peak. My partner and I decided to rent a motorbike and use Google Maps to get there, but Google Maps took us through a highlands route that was not safe. When we were found after the accident, we learned from the other riders and the hospital staff that that area is really prone to vehicular accidents, especially for unsuspecting tourists. No one (not the tour guides we talked to, not the hotel staff, not the motorbike rental business) warned us about anything. So everyone, please stick to the cemented safe road, and make sure that you hire a driver going to Osmena Peak instead of going by yourselves, because that other dangerous route was really no joke. I actually almost died, having rolled over the edge of the road, and am still dealing with the trauma of the accident. It took me a couple of months before I could write this down so I could warn other people.

While the view and drive is amazing, getting there is tricky, and the routes from google maps are not precise. In other words, you would need to set a side a lot of time for the visit. I have also hear about people encountering locals possibly trying to scam them in the area. For the visit, make sure that the weather is good, and that the risk of rainfall is at a minimum. The roads are very variable in quality, and a lot of the roads are made of cement, which later has gotten covered with moss. Personally I have driven a scooter for 4 years consistantly, but I sadly wiped out and had a crash going down during heavy rainfall. Take care while driving, and I would rather drive to slow than to fast in this area.

I visited this place during the weekend to unwind. It only took me around 20 minutes to reach the peak, yet the fascinating view, along with the cool mountain breeze, paid off and made the hike way more rewarding than I expected. I had a great time relaxing given that the place wasn't that crowded.
Ultimately, the best thing about the place was the locals. The local tour guides were astoundingly kind and hospitable.

I took the bus from Oslob to Dalaguete and then a bike to Osmena Peak, its a 10-15 minute easy hike up and its worth the effort for the gorgeous views. Sunrise is the best time to visit.

How to get there:
1. Ride bus to Argao at door 14 at South Bus Terminal. It's P105/pax fare for the airconditioned Ceres bus. We left at around 11am and arrived at Dalaguete around 4pm.
2. Tell the "jeepney fare collector" (konduktor) that you'll be stopping at the Dalaguete market.
3. Motorcycle drivers will be there waiting for you. It's P100/pax fare.
- I recommend Kuya Kilino (0910 382 5105). He was my driver.
- On the way to Osmeña Peak, you can stop by Mangtalungon market for puso, lechon manok, fruits, etc.
- Before you reach OPeak, you can stop by the grotto they have, just a few minutes from the market. There's a small cave you can go through just for the heck of it.
4. When you reach the foot of the peak, there are children who can accompany you to the campsite. They can carry some of your things. It's up to you how much you'll tip.
- I recommend Ken and Gerald. They accompanied us for our trip.
- These kids can also accompany you to Kawasan Falls.
- They can also get you water or rent you tents, etc.

Are babies allowed to climb in osmena pek? I am planning to climb with my 9 months old baby.
Written August 11, 2023
There is no age limit to climb. But it’s very steep, the rocks are not stable, and the path can be slippery depending on the weather, I personally won’t recommend climbing with a 9-month old baby.

Hi we’re planning to go to Osmeña Peak soon. However, we’ll be bringing a car to save transpo and we will be going to Kawasan Falls the day after. Do they have a parking space or where can we possible park our vehicle when go camping over night in Osmeña Peak?
Written April 30, 2020
We rode motorcycle there and we can park just near the entrance. It’s free parking but there’s many locals there saying will help you to look after your motorcycle, so it’s up to you to tip them. No sure whether you can camp there though. There’s some farmers staying below.

Are there habal habal drivers as early as 4 am?

Hi, what’s the difficulty level like for a beginner who has not hiked before?
Written June 20, 2018
Rent a stick from the store, for only 10 pesos to aide you in your climb. This will also lessen the strain in your legs and prevents you from slipping.
It took us 18mins with one stop just before the peak.
If you would like to take chances in getting a sunrise shot be there before 5am. We left cebu city around 230 and we arrived just in time for the sunrise.
Safe hiking 👍🏼

Hi everyone! i'm thinking of visiting Osmena Peak in early August. Anyone knows how's the weather like over there?
Written June 16, 2018
August is still quite distant even astronomers can't predict what the weather would be like.
But June to September would certainly be rainy especially in the Northern Luzon area and not as rainy in Cebu. But don't worry as early as last week of July, you can consult Accuweather website to check Dalaguete, Cebu local weather for August.

Hi guys !
I'm thinking of going solo to Cebu for hiking . Osmena Peak is in my bucket list. It seems that Klook and some other tours offer only minimal 2 pax for any tour. Any other recommended tour that can squeeze me in? Or is it possible to do independent hike tour .Thank you in advance !
Written June 10, 2018
When I went there, I did it without tours but once you get to the base of the mountain, they offer tour guides for free. But bear in mind that these tour guides work everyday going up and down the mountain so generous donations.
If you stop at Dalaguete, there are 'habal-habal' drivers that will take you towards the mountain
