I recently visited the place with my girlfriend. We stayed for two nights, breakfast included.
The spot was incredible. Surrounded by the mountains, it is a beautiful place for hiking (though you should be aware, the paths could prove a bit challenging for the ocasional hiker).
Nevertheless, the hotel was not good. We stayed at the Continental Hotel, which is stated to be a 4* hotel... And maybe it was in 1980. Just as an example, there were indications on the walls which were missing letters ("recepci n" instead of recepcion and so on). The worst though, was the breakfast (we didn't dare to stay for lunch or dinner). Out of a very large buffet, there was not a single piece of food that was roughly decent. For the price paid, the quality of the food was disappointing.
Summarising, if you go there, avoid staying in the resort. I'd rather try one of the shelters or staying in the town

Like other reviews our visit to the Spa at Banos de panticosa was intended as a break from a walking holiday. We had very little to go on as to what to expect so hopefully this will help others who don't speak Spanish! The spa only opens at midday (sept). The price can include a 3 course buffet lunch at the hotel continental - the option we took. For your price you get a towel , a locker and changing rooms, and as long as you like to experience the various areas of basically watery 'zones'. Basic Spanish gives you an idea of whether the area is hot, warm or cold water plunge pools. You can do it in an organised or 'correct' fashion but we rather felt like kids let loose in a water playground of going from zone to zone and finding our favourite. Massage jets work really well on tired limbs, the sauna, steam room and Turkish hammam hot slabs were a particular favourite and we could have stayed far longer than we did but had to get to lunch before 3.30. The open air pool has fantastic views and sun loungers which were empty. Try the quiet pool. Bizarrely it's rather like swimming inside a cooling tower. Other tips include hiring a robe and take your own flip flops. You could actually take reading material onto the outdoor pool but we get the impression bags are frowned on so bare minimum only. The downside is that the place needs attention. The entire building is rather arty and minimalist concrete and tiles which works but the concrete is cracking, repairs look bodged, glass is cracked and so many H&S issues such as un fenced sheer drops from the outdoor pool, wobbly hand rails. All in all worth going if you like watery relaxation but don't expect sophistication.

Hello!

We are staying in the hotel for 2 days (01.07.18 currently here).

The location is amazing, we would say it is a paradise. However, this is the first and last advantage of this hotel...

First, we booked a room with a Mountain View, however were given a room with a view to a wall, yes, it is just a wall. (See image attached) The explanation was “Everything is booked”. Fine, this is not a big problem.

Second, WIFI is incredibly slow (loads only videos in 240). You might be asking why we do not watch TV - the quality is even worse than WIFI (image attached). Also the TV set is from 00s.

Third, the room we were given is for invalid people - almost no shelves in the bathroom, no door lock (even more the door cannot be closed completely, there is always a hole). (Image attached)

Fourth, room service after cleaning up our room, came back one hour after (there was no request from our side).

Fifth, breakfast - it was fine (although not for 4 starts superior). Coffee and got chocolate was just a hot colored water-_-

Sixth, room service did not change shampoo. (Although there were 4 empty bottle a standing their.

Seventh, once talking to receptionists, they are always being districted by World Cup. Sometime I had to repeat everything over and over.

Good things:

Free parking
Great view
Calm atmosphere
Incredible nature

Bottom-line, the hotel does not worth its money nor 4 stars superior.

Better to book a hotel in the town center (2,3 starts) and just take advantage of the view.

Not sure that we will go back.

Thanks

Hello Levan! First of all thank you for your comments on TripAdvisor about your experience at the Panticosa Spa, as they are of great help to improve our services. We are sorry that our Hotel did not live up to your expectations and that your experience was not entirely satisfactory. We feel dissatisfied with the assigned room, we would have liked to have had the possibility of having it fixed and able to make your stay more pleasant, but unfortunately we had the entire hotel. However, I would like to tell you that these are clearly practices that do not meet our quality standard. However, you can be sure that your opinion will be shared with our heads of departments to inform them about this situation and to act accordingly, so that cases do not happen again. The team's commitment to the Spa is to work on constant improvement, so we hope you accept our sincere apologies and that in the future we will have the opportunity to show you our improvements and welcome you back. Sincerely, Director of Customer Relations Balneario de Panticosa

Even though it is high above the ski town of Panticosa it is worth a drive just to visit.. A nice well maintained mountain road leads to the Plateau surrounded by high peaks and granite walls from which water cascades descend. In the plateau there is plenty of parking , a lake and a few easy trails to the falls continuing to difficult ones to the glacier lakes at the top. There are excellent hotels and various types of restaurants to enjoy the site and senses. The thermal waters have been famous since Roman times. Overall a nice place for romance or enjoy with the family

The best part of my stay was the spa, which is truly superb. The room was fine, albeit the decoration and configuration of it is weird, in particular the wardrobes. Also, just a small bar of soap in the basin... Not a good decision impression...

The front desk bad, both during check-in (more than 15 minutes because they had some issues with the key card system) and checking out - the wanted to overcharge me 30 euros because of an internal communication issue...

And breakfast was horrible - dated, greasy fried eggs, no homemade bread, just "pan bimbo" which is an aberration being in Spain, little fruit... Disappointing to say the least...

It could be a superb hotel and it is just a so so experience...

Mixed feelings with this hotel. My frist impression when I arrived to the room (we asked for a large one for 2 adults and 2 kids) was really bad: very small, with bunk beds for the kids, hardly leaving any space to walk around the room. Claustrophobic! Also some areas of the walls were damaged and the overall look was more of a "rustic" mountain cabin than anything else. The fact that the external carpet on the outside of the hotel features a "5 stars GL" logo is confusing and irritating: I made sure I would check the category, now I see on a popular hotel reservations page that the hotel has 4 stars. Ok, that's more like it...
Very disappointed about the TV in the room. Oh, no, not again! Hardly visible from 3 of the 4 beds in the room, it featured a very poor antenna connection and was really a pain to see. Anyway, I just wanted to connect my external hard drive to see some movies. No way, had to go via HDMI on a very old-fashioned Philips TV. Long-time discontinued, it may have been repaid at least twice so time for a change, a smart TV is needed!! I also had issues with the safe box (batteries would fall off, no screw), the main door lock (had to be replaced) and a light bulb (took them 2 days to get it fixed). Now the buffet restaurant was correct, plenty of food to choose from. Also the hotel features a nice resting area around the fire, a kids club and free parking space outside. The Wi-fi worked pretty fine and all the staff were nice.
What makes it really worth is the Spa facility, absolutely gorgeous and a must-see! It was really priceless to take those hot baths in the external pool while snowing. Also the views are really amazing. Still my review has to be positive, but there's some room for improvement.

We went to the spa to finish our weekend break of hiking. The staff at the spa were the most helpful and polite and helped in creating a real relaxing experience. The spa was spacious and the outdoor heated pool with views of the mountain was breathtaking.

We were on a walking holiday with Colletts and felt the need for some less exhausting form of relaxation, we tried the Spa. It is set in wonderful setting with mountains around it, attractive buildings in the way of the "Grand Hotel" and the Spa is a very modern aesthetically pleasing building. Costs are reasonable, you can buy a swimming costume and flip flops and hire a dressing gown.
Facilities are very good, they include the usual such as a tranquillity pool, amazing Jacuzzi, fine very cold water spray room (give it a try it was fantastic) hot stone etc. The drive is lovely and there are nice walks around this area. Worth a visit to the area even if not intending to use the Spa.
