Great garden gathering
Aug 2020 • Family
Lovely big garden and super friendly staff. Visited for an 18th. Ordered drinks via an app which was always very quick. Lots of staff working hard carrying trays on very uneven ground. Great music and the football was on in the garden. Fab atmosphere and a huge effort made for the safety aspect of Covid.

This place could be so much better
Jun 2018 • Family
We went here for a family meal and had an outside table looked. The furniture was covered in bird poo and cigarette ends were all over the floor.
The outside bar was open but no one had thought about the state of the place. It has recently had a refurb but the place needs to be kept clean!
They could al so have done with another waiter as service was a bit slow.

80th birthday party
Mar 2018 • Friends
Nice pub. Reasonable food. We went there for an 80th birthday party. The pub I thought was a bit awkward. Party was in a seperate room which was small and not well arranged. It was hard to move in there but that was all ok. It was the bar manager that we weren't happy with. He was Moody, disconnected, never smiled, only cheered up when talking to his female colleague. But it was us spending the money over the bar, not the staff. Not impressed.

Mother’s Day lunch
Mar 2018
Had a fabulous Mother’s Day lunch. The food ( especially the roast beef dinner) was so tasty and a great portion with the veg cooked to perfection. If it’s always like that I’ll be visiting very often. Also the staff we spot on. Very friendly and efficient. Great all round.

Great for a party
Nov 2017 • Friends
Visited as part of a very large private party for special birthday celebrations when the pub and restaurant were closed to the public.
The buffet food was ok but nothing special. Perhaps worth trying during normal opening times.

Top marks to the team
Oct 2017 • Family
Do not confuse this lovely place with Farnham in Surrey as some of the other reviews have done, and also ignore the map as that is incorrect too.
We had a family and friends lunch here a couple of weeks ago, 38 people in total on a Sunday. I chose it deliberately as it could accomodate the volume of people, the food quality was good and it was a safe venue for the 12 children invited to the celebration.
Ed and his team, Lewis in overall charge on the day, provided for us, whilst also managing a busy lunch service to others, a super feast of nibbles and roast dinners. They provided everything I had asked for, stored our birthday cakes until required and made available a table for gifts and cards. In a very competitive market locally, they achieved! Their outside space for children is fabulous and we had a sunny day so people could mingle and chat easily.
We have been there before and will be back to enjoy good food and the log fire.

overpriced for average food
Sep 2017 • Friends
Inviting surroundings and a menu that makes you ponder as it all sounds so good. That's where it ends! Waitress asked how we wanted the roast meat and despite asking for medium rare, when it arrived we were told it was medium! In reality it was well done and tough as old boots. Not sure why the option was offered in the first place. Good selection of veg. You pay extra for a Yorkshire pud unless you're having beef. Thought it was now common place to have a yorky with any meat...
The soft shell crab burger was tasteless which was a disappointment. Halloumi starter was good as was duck croquette.
Service extremely slow. We waited 40 minutes for starters.
It's not hard to do a good roast and if you fail at that you shouldn't be charging £15 for it!
Won't be going back and would only recommend if you're only eating starters.

Another great evening meal at The Crown Inn
Feb 2017 • Couples
Unbooked evening meal at The Crown Inn last night.
As usual made to feel welcome, very accommodating.
The Winter Warmer menu a great idea and supplements the main menu, great for mid week.
Consistency of staffing and warm welcome always appreciated which is why we keep going back.

Nice food but a bit pricey
Mar 2016 • Friends
We visited for Sunday lunch with friends because we heard it had reopened. If looks lovely and the garden should be good when finished. The roast was a bit pricey at 15.95 for beef and not much meat. We asked for more which was willingly supplied at no extra charge though.service was pretty good. All in all, not bad, but nothing exceptional.
