    Valley of natural beauty
The way to Sangti Valley from Dirang was amazing with narrow road and mountains on one side and the river flowing on the other side. The place is scenic and calm with lots of vegetation. People habit in low density. I had occasion to view orchards of kiwi. Overall a must place to visit

    Nice view
This valley is located in Dirang. Nice view all around. But as a tourist, it is better to book a cottage in the valley which are in the middle of the valley in the coast of the river. Otherwise, just going there by the car, one can not access the majority of serene views.

Come to Sangti Valley for peace and calmness
The open wide valley is so picturesque that it will blow your mind. It gives you the ambience of Kashmir. The way to the valley is also mesmerizing. The peace and serene beauty of the mountains and the Dirang river will make it a life time experience. Only Bsnl network works here. That is the only hitch.

Sangti valley is one of the most beautiful places in this whole region. Not only is the place lovely but so are it's people. Make sure you end up staying there for at least a night (don't do a day trip) and carry some swim wear to take a dip in the river. I learnt how to make some amazing food with a local family there so you can message me for a contact there in the village.

We heard about the orchards and black-necked crane of the Sangti Valley. However, after reading some reviews, of no possibility of sighting cranes, we gave second priority to Sangti valley if have time while returning. On Jan 30 morning we started our bikes from Dirang, and one of the bikes started giving trouble and found the battery was down. The mechanic told a minimum of two hours for charging and it became around 12.00 noon and we don't want to proceed further up to Sela Pass due to heavy snow on the previous days.
This is how we diverted our way to Sangti Valley, a 7 km deviation from Dirang. As still winter continuing, even without much green around, we started liking the village from its outskirts itself. Grazing herds of sheep, horses and cattle, orchards, a calm river, a forest above and the village with some traditional houses and friendly people makes it an interesting place for those who seeks culture and off track travel. The sheep farm has accommodation for visitors, however, we found a home stay (Litro Home stay) within no time for an affordable price. Once offloaded our luggage, the owners prepared a quick but tasty lunch for us. Then we started exploring around the village with our cameras. The river side was so peaceful and beautiful observing the grazing animals and horses. few houses on the other side of the river were old rustic type. Most of the houses have, varieties of flowers, oranges, Kiwi and other fruit growing trees. After the rains, the valley must be lush green and the view must be changing completely.
Seeking for indigenous drinks and local food, we tasted two types of traditional drinks the "Bong chang" brewed from millet and a good quality 'Ara' the rice wine in the village. It is mostly brewed in homes for own consumption. The dinner time was amazing with a camp fire discussing with the family members on the life and culture in the eastern Himalayan village. Tasty momos and roti with rice was served. Both veg and non-veg members of our team enjoyed the food. The Letro family is friendly people and the owner Mr Letro has amazing knowledge of the surrounding forests. The night climate was so comfortable than the other places along the way to Tawang and the next morning, Feb 1, we left for Tawang. Among all our stays, Sangti valley was the most impressive and relaxing one during our entire trip to Tawang. If had time we would have extended another day in the Valley. Hope we will visit again in another season.

Plan was to have a transit halt at Dirang on way to Tawang. But the Sangti valley turned into a destination in itself. Fortunate to stay in the tents of Letro Homestay, on the bank of a small river that cuts through the valley. A serene valley surrounded by hills on three sides and in the midst of active vegetable farming. Courtesy our hosts,Mr Letro and his family had a pleasant walking tour of the adjoining village and the local Buddhist temple.

Worth a visit if you are passing Dirang on your way to Tawang. One can go down to the river and spend the in the water. The views are splendid. There is also a small shack that sells Maggi, eggs and beer.
